I found the first quote (Lena Horne) and then looked for a quote about a load shared and then went off on a tangent...think is might have been a load shared is a load halved or something like that...
Anyway...the weight loss/exercise/whatever thing is usually easier with a buddy.
Liked the idea of us carrying burdens that we perhaps are meant to share OR meant to get over and not carry forever.
AND the last one hit home today because though I am "counting points" and recording those and calories in my journal and also recording online...sometimes you have to be flexible in reaching a goal. If I can't walk outside...do something active inside and if I can't find what I want to eat then find something else with similar points/calories to eat instead...don't lose the plot completely...be flexible.
BOB: I agree with you about thoughts and not always being able to control or avoid them. Negative thoughts are ours at times but what we do with them says a lot.
KAREN: I remember my mother giving me an angel pin that could sit on my shoulder...can't remember how old I was. I always wondered where the devil pin was and if it was invisibly sitting on my shoulder. It is important to figure out where negative thoughts come from so we can find ways to deal with them...I think. I do look for quotes each day that have to do with positive, success, goals, excuses, motivation, responsibility...something that we can use to make sure our day is a "no excuse" day OR at least to give us something to think about.

You do indeed give us lots to think about on a daily basis. Thank you for that.
Flexibility is key. We never know what life will throw our way each day. We need to be able to bob & weave our way around the obstacles or temptations and if our plan doesn't work, make a new plan without losing sight of our goals. It's not an excuse for us to just abandon the whole idea. We all know where that gets us. We're much smarter now and we're not new at this. And of course having buddies along the way sure helps!
