5. Join a sports team. Even better than one friend is a group of friends. Intramural sports teams are a fantastic way to get a few weekly workouts.
6. Get into music, podcasts and audiobooks. If your schedule isn’t conducive to group activities, your iPod still got your back. Put together an inspiring workout mix, download some of your favorite podcasts and audiobooks and whistle while you work.
Does anyone do any team sports? Would you consider it? How about music or other types of recordings?
The only kind of team I ever belonged to was bowling. I did that for many years. I do listen to music while I'm exercising, either on the TV music channels or on my itunes or Pandora radio on my phone.

I have not been on a team but in college used to go to volleyball games that required women and men to play together...it was always fun. As for music...for some reason the music interferes with my concentration when exercising. I have listened to audio books a few times while walking but it was not easy because I had to hold the phone to my ear because the earphones didn't work

When I was in Jr. High School, I was on the basketball team. I never was very good, spent almost all my time on the bench. I tried out for the team when I got to high school, I didn't even survive the first round of cuts. LOL That was back in the day when women only played 1/2 court. Men thought women were so delicate that we couldn't even run the whole length of the court. I don't think I have ever been on any sports team since then.
I have come to enjoy audio books & podcasts. Need to get into some new ones.

Team sports - not in the past. Well, unless you'd count 4-H softball. That was mainly a reason to get together, not to do a lot of serious practice. There was a one day "fun day" for the entire county and one of the activities was a softball tournament. If I recall, there were also things like track events and games like 3 legged races, sack races, and so on. In school, the first girls sport offered was volleyball. I can't remember if it started during my jr or sr year. Any interest now. Not really. Too wary of being the one to mess things up.
Music, etc - Maybe. I don't care to listen to anything while walking outside. I want to be able to hear what is around me and I don't want to be distracted (safety). Indoors - like on the treadmill or something, yes, that would be OK.

I played years ago on a co-ed church league softball team, but I think that these days, there are too many kidsports teams that have games on the weekends that take up all the parents time. I think the league quietly fizzed out.
I have a whole bunch of music recorded on my Ipod and take it with me to the gym when I use the treadmill. If I am outside and use it, I only use 1 earbud, so I can hear runners or bikers coming up behind me. I haven't recorded any audio books on it.

Sports teams? Nope, not me. The only thing I play is the radio... But seriously, no, I've never been into sports, not even into watching sports. Couldn't care less about sports events.
Music is another story altogether. For the fitness class I go to twice a week, the leader plays workout music, almost all of which is from the 60s, some 50s and some 70s. Every once in a while, there's something from the 40s and something really much more modern (I tend to know the songs from the 40s [there's one about the Continental that I surprised myself by knowing so many of the words!] but haven't heard the "much more modern" stuff at all outside of class).
I don't walk by myself, so if I'm walking with someone (the only way I'll go for a walk...) we're talking pretty much the whole time. No music for that. I don't do "exercises" at home, so no music for that either...

No sports teams for me. I was in pep squad in middle school. Don’t remember exactly what was involved. I do like the music and being with friends st Curves.
