Good morning!
Ruth, yup I know very well where Saugerties is, we would pass the exit for that town getting DD#2 to college if we drove on the Thruway. Good thing that you were treated so well by a clerk there years ago.
The yarn sounds pretty!!! I will have to check it out next time I’m in joanns or ac Moore.
Walking this am with my friend.... then Dh and I are heading to BJ’s. G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today I'm glad I've inspired some of you to declutter, now you'll have to inspire me because I've run out of steam. Hopefully it's just because this week has been a bit stressful. I will try to work on something this afternoon. Ginny - That experience sounds awful and very frustrating. I'm glad things did work out, but it's terrible they won't refund your money. I admire your patience in dealing with all those people. Hope you enjoyed the walk and get your shopping done at BJs. Ruth - That yarn does sound pretty, I'm sure it will be a beautiful piece. The water heater is fixed and it was kind of embarrassing that I missed what was wrong with it. You might remember I said I had checked the fuse box and there was a fuse flipped off, and I flipped it on. When the plumber was here we looked in the box again and there was another fuse that was flipped off, but it was marked "Air Conditioner" and not "Water Heater" like another fuse was marked. Well that fuse that was flipped off was for the water heater So after flipping it on, the electric went back to the water heater and I have hot water. So in my defense at least I tried to fix the fuses before calling anyone. There are only a few of the fuses that are labeled, so I have no idea what 2/3rds of them go to! The electrician said they no longer even make this model of fuse box, and I told him there are lot of things in the house that are no longer made Hope everyone else is doing well and you all have a good day!

Hey CJ- well the good news is that you did not have to pay for an expensive repair, although the short visit from an electrician was not cheap. I know its a pain but perhaps someday you could have your brother or sister in law over to help mark the fuse box....otherwise its a lot of running around trying to figure out what fuse controls what circuit. Been there, done that, and its a pain for sure. And installation of a new electrical panel is not the most pricey thing to do to a house....but I am sure you are not interested in that. (Do not blame you!). Anyway, you live and learn.....and this could have been so much worse- I am just thankful for you that it was not a pricey repair.
My walk was fun.....trip to Bj’s ok. Dd and I attended a program at the library- which was really sort of stupid and not all that well done. We went out together afterward and chatted for awhile which was nice....I do not always get much of a chance to chat with her anymore. She is so busy working and spending time with her fiancee. Dh does a pretty good job of monopolizing her time also in conversation......so this evening was a nice treat. G

Happy Saturday all. We did get a bit of snow but most of it melted. It was pretty warm today..in the 40's.They actually cancelled the winter carnival scheduled for today but it's held on the mountain so I guess they thought driving up there would be too hazardous for people. It's a lot colder up there and they get much more snow than we do here.
So far I've worked on some crocheting..another gift for dd although I still need to do a few more rows on the dragon wing wrap. I hadn't brought it upstairs with me so started on something new. Then I made a sweet potato pie..already had the sweet potatoes cooked and then pasta for dh's dinner with leftover sauce and cleaned up the kitchen and still want to wash the floor and then clean the bathroom. So back to crocheting later.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are enjoying the weekend It's warm here, in the 70s and clear, so it was a nice day. I've been opening the windows on the new car for a few hours a day, since the smell in the car gives me headaches. I get migraines from scents, I'm really sensitive to that. I also read that I could put some baking soda in a container and sit it in the car and it will absorb odors, so I'll try that too. I went through all the framed photos, posters, certificates, etc. in the house today. In the "regular" rooms it wasn't too bad - there are probably about 40 framed items hanging in the house. But in that room where I had stacked up all the things my father framed (remember I said he took up picture framing when he retired), there were almost 100 I sorted them by family and type and now I have to see if my siblings want the ones of their families and what we want to do with group family ones. I am literally exhausted But I'm glad to be done with that. I've finished all the other inventories except one - my father's coins he collected. He liked to buy those mint sets of the state quarters and other types like that so there are a bunch of them to document. At least it won't be as tiring since I don't have to lift heavy picture frames. Once I'm done with that I'll need to type up all the inventories of my parents things and send the lists out to the siblings and we can figure out what to do with all this stuff. It's not really as bad as it could be, but I'll be glad to be done with this and just be left with my own things so I can figure out if there are any of them I don't really want now after the first round of going through the house. So, no crafting for me. I plan to sit on the couch this evening and read a good book Take care everyone!

Ginny, I somehow missed your post from last night. I'm glad you had a good walk with your friend and such a good time with your dd. There used to be a BJ's near where we lived in NY. I'm sure we went there but don't really remember being in it.
CJ, you really do have a lot of "stuff" don't you.I hope that your family members will want some of those things because I know you'll be reluctant to just get rid of them otherwise and I would be also so I can relate. It does sound as though you would be exhausted.I hope you enjoy the book

Hey CJ—-yes happy reading! What book is keeping your interest? Indeed it sounds like you have a lot of your Dad’s stuff to find homes for, but you are very organized which will help. Keep it up- before long you will be done and have more time for things you want to do. I can imagine this is very tiring and draining. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel Hope you got some good reading time in.
Ruth, sounds like you had a busy day cooking and cleaning . Is the Dragon wing wrap for Dd? And I confess I have never had sweet potato pie. Do you make a sugar free version for Dh?
Long day.....I did some dreaded yard work today ( we have the same warm weather CJ has). To me, its all so overwhelming, because there is so much and the minute you finish in one area weeds are back in another. That is why I prefer to craft. Anyway, I started and moved a plant I have been meaning to move for several years. I did water it after moving, and we are in for rain tomorrow, so it ought to be ok. Also got a few minutes in with the embroidery.... Dh is watching a baseball game so I will go read Ginny

Ginny, good to see you. I would love to see 70 here. It got close last week. Yes the dreaded outdoor work is looming. I'm going to plant tomato seeds indoors in about 10 days then the countdown to when I can move them outside starts. In the meantiome there will be lots of outdoor work that I can do to get some much needed exercise.I'm glad you got in a little bit of crafting time and hopefully you'll be able to get in more tomorrow. Yes the dragon wing wrap is for dd. They are odd but I see a lot of them online and see the young women in the crochet groups talking positively about them so I think dd will like it.
CJ, I was wondering about the book too because, well, I used to be an avid reader and still love reading. I just don't do a lot of fiction reading anymore even though I like to but I want to crochet even more so spend most of my hobby time with that instead.
Ok, going to get back to this wrap and hope to finish it this evening.

Good morning
Well it got close to 70 here yesterday, if it did not make it there in fact. Supposed to be cooler here today and a bit rainy. I am fine with all that....i especially like it when its cooler at night.
Ruth so it was a good guess that the dragon wing was for Dd.I am sure she will love it....I have not seen any out and about but that does not mean a thing. I have seen some stunning scarves and wraps- surely that does fit into that category. How was your tomato crop last year? Seems hard to believe that we are in that time of the year - a time of planting ...are you going to attempt zucchini this year?
Just a little sore from the yard work yesterday. Hi to CJ, Phyl, Betty and Meg....you are missed! (Know you have been here CJ...how is your new car?)

Ginny, our tomato crop last year was bad. This year I bought new and better (I hope) seeds so hopefully the plants will be more productive. If I still have zucchini seeds I might try them again. Last you I got great plants and blossoms...you probably remember...but never any sign of an actual zucchini.
I still think the dragon wing is strange but since all the young women on fb crochet groups seem to love those types of scarf/wraps I think she will too and she likes dragons.
Hello to all...Meg, Phyl, Sue, Betty, and of course CJ and I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. I have a lot of things to do today. Yesterday I actually ended up working on three different crochet projects...all gifts and will undoubtedly work on at least one of them today. Didn't get the drangon wing done because I started the third one
Got an email from dgd. They opened the box yesterday and she said her favorites of the gifts we sent were the ones I made for her. I love hearing that of course. When she got it on Tues she said they were waiting till her dad got home...I thought she meant that evening but he must have been out of town for training again. Seems they are always sending him places to learn new things and bring back the info to the rest

Hello Crafters Ginny - I hate yard work too, hope you finished everything you needed to for now. I cut back my two ornamental grasses this week, and that's about the extent of the yard work I'll do Ruth - I'm happy for you that your DGD loved what you sent her. It's such a pleasure to give to others, isn't it? I don't like "heavy" books, I prefer lighter ones and mostly romances, many of them inspirational romances which is what I'm reading right now. I also usually read contemporary books, but these take place in the early 1900s in South Dakota when it first became a state: - The Sewing Sisters' Society (A Second Chance Romance Collection) - it's 3 books www.amazon.com/Sewing-Sisters-Society-Romance-Collection-ebook/dp/B07MHQJXNX/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1MUTR70VH70ZG&keywords=ruth+logan+herne+books&qid=1554050039&s=digital-text&sprefix=ruth+logan+%2Caps%2C337&sr=1-7 This is a sequel book to the first three - A Most Inconvenient Love (Prairie Brides Book 1): www.amazon.com/Most-Inconvenient-Love-Prairie-Brides-ebook/dp/B07NS7VK4B/ref=sr_1_13?crid=1MUTR70VH70ZG&keywords=ruth+logan+herne+books&qid=1554050848&s=digital-text&sprefix=ruth+logan+%2Caps%2C337&sr=1-13This author, Ruth Logan Herne, is very good and I've read many of her modern day books too. I accidentally read the sequel book before the first one, so now I'm reading the first book. I finished the first two stories and have one left. I've enjoyed them all. We had some rain here this morning, but I think it's supposed to pass on. It's only going to be in the 50s today after the high 70s yesterday. I finished up some of the things I was working on yesterday and now today I'll tackle the inventory of my father's coin collection. I'm sure there will be interest from my siblings on these items, so I want to make up a complete list. I don't really care all that much about any of the coins except for the ones that my father and I were collecting together. I have a full set of the 50 states quarters (one $10 roll for each state), and we had started collecting the gold $1 President coins, but never finished that. I do have one crafting project I've been hoping to work on, it's to stitch the binding for a springtime table runner I finished years ago. I brought it down to the living room so I'd keep seeing it and hoping that it will get me to finish it. Hope everyone else gets to do some crafting today and that you have a wonderful day!

Opps!!!! In my haste, I forgot to mention Sue, who I hope is enjoying her weekend and doing well Phyl- that is awesome news that you are feeling so well today! Thanks for sharing that with us and I pray that this continues!! Sounds like all in all you had a great day. CJ- once again, you have such a good handle on getting through your dads belongings and collections. Do you credit that book you read on decluttering for your newfound focus?? Gee that table runner must be so pretty and would brighten your home. What colors are in it? Thanks for the book recommendation! I might just give that author a try, and will see if the books are available in my local library. I read non fiction books at times....but do prefer light fiction- expecially historical fiction. Not a big fan of modern fiction, I figure we all see enough of modern day life on our televisions. Ruth, how sweet of DGD to email you to thank you for the made with love gifts you send to her! Makes all the effort you put into these items worth all the hassle!! Yes, I well remember that you had no luck with zucchini....was just wondering how you would handle that this year. Hope that its a good year for tomatoes for you. Its so frustrating when a garden just does not yield despite all our best efforts. Monday tomorrow? yuck Ginny

Phyl, it's so good to hear that you're feeling so well and that you were able to work in your playpen.
Ginny, usually our tomato plants start out looking bad but then grow well and produce well. Last year I even ended up pulling the plants out early because they did so bad. I have to get new soil for in the large pots to go with the new seeds. I do fertilize them too.
Well this morning I spent time making lists of various things I needed to have lists for then went to my bank site and changed the account numbers since I got the new cards and went back to those sites where bills were set to be paid by those cards and changed info there too so that's all taken care of. Then I did my tax finally. I'm glad that's done and it wasn't pretty. Some of the people on the other thread I post on said that everyone they knew had to pay more this year and some that never had to pay had to pay this year. I am paying the same. I was using my old computer and the keyboard acted weird. Then after all that work the supposed "free" site told me I had to pay so I went to another and started over.
I was so busy I forgot to eat and it was 6pm and I hadn't had breakfast yet.
Now for crocheting.
For complete relaxation I like to read what they call "cozy mysteries". They have one that is based in a bookstore but is actually focused on the women who meet in the bookstore to crochet

Hey, Ruth, we owe money this year also.....but we lost Dd as a deduction and her college expenses also. Funny you mention changing account numbers, that too is something I have to take care of- hope to do that this week. I like cozy mysteries also....also enjoyed the Jennifer Chiavarini quilting series books. G
