good morning, guess I will get us going today.
those painted table runners you can cut out what you want you want and maybe use them as squares in a quilt top.
they probably would make a nice handkerchief type square top or wall hanging.
Nita and I had fun at the craft show saturday. we each only bought 2 african violets. hope I an keep mine living. killed 3 in the last couple of years.
today will be dusting etc. I better get statrted instead of playing around on the computer. phyl

Good morning Ginny and Phyl and those that come in later.
Phyl, dusting is not my favorite task but I need to do that too. We were just talking about African Violets the other day.I haven't tried any lately. I actually started some maybe 10 years ago with the leaf propagation method and I did get a small plant and it amazingly got blossoms before it died. It didn't last long and the plant the leaves come from died too. My favorite plant now is cyclamen. They bloom great for me especially in winter. But I don't have one right now because in the summer I forget to water and they do need a lot of water and being that in summer we have no humidity they dry out fast. African Violets need humidity also and watering them is tricky.
Well the weather played a trick on us. Yesterday was a beautiful day as were the three or so days before that and today the high was supposed to be 48 but I just came upstairs and it's snowing like crazy and is 36.Tomorrow is supposed to be 61 and WEd 63...Crazy weather. Then Friday's high is to be only 29.
Last night I switched back to the baby blanket while watching tv with dh. I thought it would be much easier to work on while doing that as it's kind of a mindless stitch but then I did find a mistake...well I found several actually but the one couldn't be left because it was very obvious. The others were such that no one would have ever noticed them but were fixed when I ripped our 2 rows to fix the big one. Still I did make progress on the blanket. The Dragon wing scarf is one you have to constantly count stitches and rows

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - Thanks for the link to those quilt blogs, there are some pretty ones there. I've spend most of the day on the Internet researching car leases versus car buying. I hate the whole process of buying a car, even just getting a new car because I'll be so worried about driving it for the first several months an having something happen. Yes, I know I'm a worrier Looking at the money spread out over several years, I think I might now be leaning towards just buying an new car. Then I wouldn't have to deal with all the lease issues that there might be and also go through having to get another car in 24-36 months. I'm seeing some good deals that end on April 1st, so I may go out this week one day and do a test drive. Take care everyone!

CJ, I didn't want to say anything yesterday because we all have to do what is best for us. I once leased a vehicle but I really think that leasing is a waste of money. If you pay for 24 or 36 months what do you have after that...nothing.And there are a lot of stipulations. Now I wish I could go with you when you're buying because I'm a great negotiator but then you probably are too. Just don't let someone talk you into anything or rush you into buying by making you thihnk that you're using up too much of their time or telling you that there's someone else looking at the car so you better grab it while you can. Or that the sale is going to be over so you better get it now. Usually that's not true. They call it a sale but you'd most likely get the same deal the next week or month. They esp mess with you when you have a trade. They tell you they're giving you such and such an amount off but more than likely they would give you that same amount off if you didn't have a trade at all esp if you have an older car..Most cars now have small engines and get power from turbo. Turbo is very hard on the engine. so I recommend not getting one of those. Also a lot of cars have CVT...a type of transmission. I would not buy a car that had that either. They have bad reports and of course the salesperson is going to tell you that they're actually good. They aren't. They'll also try to talk you into getting things like windshield protection which also sounds good but your insurance already covers windshields. And they'll tell you of but that doesn't cover the deductible..well the windshield protection will cost you about $650 over the life of your loan...plus interest where your deductible is only either $500 or $250 plus a lot of companies waive the deductible. Your probably know all this already but I always feel compelled to share Just finished dragging about 15 or so tall garbage bag size bags our to the car to take to GW tomorrow.I'm glad to have those out of the house.

Good evening!
Phyl. Does anyone like dusting? Donโt think so!! Thanks for posting the quilt pictures- wow there are some pretty ones, how inspiring.
Ruth, did you ever get your package mailed?
CJ, you are a thinker, and do not take on a large financial commitment without a lot of thought and insight. Have you ever considered researching through Consumer Reports? Perhaps they can add additional insight and information as you search for a car. I know you will make the best choice for you. And do not let a snarky salesman treat you poorly. I have been treated like junk by a salesman who did not think I was a serious buyer.
Ok I am responding on my phone. Itโs hard to see your posts. Long day babysitting . Got a little bit of embroidery in. Ginny

Ruth, you got quite the workout getting all that stuff in the car for Goodwill! I had no idea you were cleaning out so much. You had great advice for CJ on car leasing. We had a car that had the CVT transmissiion and Dh disliked it. It did not bother me. G

Ginny, yes I mailed the package on Friday so it's on it's way to them now.
Yes we once had a salesperson act rude to us and we immediately left aft3er telling him he just lost out on a sale. I've never driven a car with CVT so haven't had any personal experience but in all my reading they don't sound good. Yes Consumer Reports is a good resource.I've actuallfy had a lot of that stuff packed up for a very long time and am just now getting it put into the van! Yes I keep getting rid of my stuff because Mr Packrat won't get rid of any of his and I hate having so much stuff.
I worked on the Dragon wing scarf a little today until dh got up then I visited and then cooked and moved all those bags with dh's help but it was still a good workout. I had to dig them out from where I had them stashed and then carried some outside and to the van after I was done with the digging them out.Dh had many of them already out there so I maybe carried out about 8 so there was probably actually more than 15. At one point I thought I had them all but then found more.

Whew! I'm finally here. I finished the last few items on the taxes about an hour ago. That was cutting things a little close since my appointment is at ten tomorrow. I had almost everything finished yesterday, but as I was double and triple checking, I kept finding things. When I get home tomorrow, I have to start cleaning up.
Would you believe that a scarf I started last week winked at me when I walked past tonight? It's a combination of turquoise to green, one of those round flat things.
The robins are finally here. Spring must be on its way! Our weather has been crazy too, Ruth. It's springtime in the Northern Rockies!

Yes springtime in the Rockies allright...weather is extremely unpredictible here. I'm glad you were able to get everything together for your taxes. What a relief that must be

Quick reply as I am making dinner and Dgd is napping.
Ruth, glad all that stuff - all 15 bags is gone! Did they pick it up yet? I am sure it feels good to get rid of that stuff.
Sue- happy spring! Congrats on getting the taxes done. A nice feeling of accomplishment. Enjoy the robins.
Phyl, is there any reason for your sleeping difficulties? Have you spoken with your doctor regarding this? I wonder Will pray that a solution can be found for you.
Drove this am..... babysitting now. BBL Ginny

Phyl, so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well and aren't sleeping as you need to. I hope you find a solution.
Ginny, I have to actually take the bags somewhere. There's no pickup available here. Sounds like you're having another busy day.
I haven't done much yet today. I got an email from the gen manager(might as well go right to the top) of Menard's answering my question about the battery so will put the battery back in the back of the van and take it there tomorrow so it will be a busy day with taking care of dh's problem with his glasses, Menard's for battery and then to GW to drop off all these bags.
Meg, Sue, Betty, CJ...have a great day and of course Phyl and Ginny
