WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C96D8, 19 points, 4 rollovers, 8 water
Only the treadmill today
Got my biopsy report. I will need surgery. There was some confusion on the report, so the doctor will speak to the pathologist and get back to me tomorrow. First she said it was just pre-cancer. Then she called back when she realized the language was unclear. Either way it will probably be a lumpectomy – The question is whether or not it will require radiation or chemo afterwards. Hopefully not. I’ll know more after speaking with her, my gynecologist and the surgeon.
Lori – Yep prepared veggies are great. Today I roasted some carrots and some mushrooms. I’ve also got tons of shredded cabbage and corn on the cob and acorn squash and tons of mixed salad. I think I’ll need to have a vegetable plate instead of the root beer float for my 3 PM snacks this week. Some more with lunch + chicken and dinner + rainbow trout tomorrow. Then there are my 3 fruits. It will be challenging getting in my 19 points but I’ll manage <g>.
Jan – I can’t begin to comprehend 8 miles on that foot. Talk about commitment!!

Good morning. After seeing posts on Facebook, I’m glad that Alex decided not to play baseball. They had a double header last night, and it was 35°. There’s another double header tonight. While other parents were sitting in the stands for five hours freezing, I was home on my couch making photo books. Technology is amazing. Every digital picture that I’ve taken for 19 years is right at my fingertips in the cloud. Some of the pictures made my heart hurt. Where did the time go?
Thankfully my foot hasn’t been too bad. I can feel the plantar fasciitis, but it’s not nearly as painful as it’s been in the past. I’ve been diligitently stretching and icing it.
I love having my veggies prepared for the week, though even still I don’t always reach for them. There’s a meme out there that says “I wish I was the person I thought I was when I bought all these vegetables”. YES!!
Lori, enjoy having the kids back.
Nancy, oh, I’m sorry about the results. I sure hope that the lumpectomy will be enough and you won’t need chemo or radiation.

This morning I arrived early at work and went for a loop around campus. I was counting my blessing as I walked around this beautiful campus...great way to start the day!!
Wow Nancy, that is a lot of wonderful veggies...a crunchy veggie pita pocket with a little protein (melted string cheese or sprinkle of feta) might make a great little meal..Just wondering, do you feel like you have to get 19 points and 3 fruits in your day? I usually follow 2-5 fruits or veggies a day rule...so if I get a lot of veggies and I'm satisfied, I don't feel I have to get the fruit in... So sorry to hear about the biopsy report. Praying they caught it very early and surgery will be enough....keeping you in my prayers....
Jan, I loved watching the kids play baseball and softball but only in the nice weather!! There were so many times I watched from my car - not fun at all... DH and I are in the process of getting all the older pictures on digital. We are actually taking a picture of a picture and its amazing how good they are coming out. I plan on making photo books for Christmas gifts...

I just found this interesting and pleasantly surprising....I looked at today's date on my old 2-year pocket calendar 2017 and 2018 (I track my weight, steps, binges). March 26, 2017 I have in red - really bad binge (2 binges that month) wt 152.6 step average per day 6,705. March 26, 2018 - wt 145.4 - step average 7,087, no binges. Today, wt 139.2 - step avg 9,151 2 days strength, 2 days pilates (started Dec.3rd) - no binges....It's so rewarding to see the change!
Hope everyone is having a good day!

Jan - It amazes me that you are virtually pain free with all that running. The icing and stretching seems to be working.
Lori - Those stats are amazing! We've come a long way, baby. I do have 3 fruits every day. I count a point for any additional fruits but that rarely happens. As for the 19 points, that's where my treats come in. So if I reach 16 points, for example, I treat myself to 3 points of whatever. Those extra points will be used for a mini caramel or a jello pudding, or some cashews, or a pretzel rod, or a snack size ww fudgicle or ww potato stix or pirate's booty - well you get the idea.
