WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Yep it was a binge - okay by day but had two big chocolate chip cookies at the line dance function. Realized when I got home that I can't attend meeting Saturday. Our aide isn't coming in, so I'm on call. Instead of the meeting, I'll grocery shop early in order to be home by 11-ish when DH gets started. I guess the combination of the cookies and no WI led me to binge city. C'est la vie. I'll start fresh tomorrow.
The line dance thing was great fun. Two of my friends and two of my line dancers came with me. We had a great time.
Tomorrow's supposed to be gorgeous weather wise. Hopefully I can get out for some walking.

Good morning. We went out to eat last night, and I certainly could have chosen better. I could have done much worse as well, so I’ll take it. I went shopping and brought home three dresses to try on for graduation. Ugh. I really do have a few pounds to lose. I think I’ll start counting non-Core points again on Monday. Or maybe today. There’s no time like the present.
It was worth it to drive the 40 minutes to the vet. The nail trim was no cost and there was no office visit fee. Still, with the flea and tick meds and heart worm prevention, as well as two vaccinations, it was $250.
Lori, the jury may wrap up in time. Let’s hope that’s the case. There was a post on NFLN this morning from a man who used to weigh 600 lbs. He has a book called Through Thick and Thin. I downloaded it this mornjng.
Nancy, it’s interesting the way our minds work. I’m sorry about your binge. I wish your DS NJ lived closer to you. My mind wanders too much when I drive to listen to audio books.

I’ve paid for the pro version of iTrackbites and am doing whatever the most current version of WW is, starting today. The good news is I already know the plan. I do hope I can figure out how to be successful on it and drop these few pounds. The pro version includes macros and calories, so those are additional tools I can use.

Jan - Seems we're on the page (excluding my binge) re WW current version. You'll have to track zeros, though, if you're taking advantage of the calorie count. I'm on the fence whether or not to go back to MFP. I think I'll stick to just points for another week. If the scale goes in the wrong direction, I'll be back to counting calories. I have no doubt your extra pounds will be gone in no time if you keep this up. Best of luck with it!!
