Karen It didn't get as cold as we first thought. We had a low of 45 but with the wind chill it felt like 38.We are supposed to get down to 39 in the morning I think.Neither of us know what most of the wildflowers are out here on the property but there are some Indian blankets closer to the road gate.A trail 50K would make me upchuck.
Kathy I have a salad for lunch every day we eat at home and I also use evoo.

Good evening chicks, Stopping in to check on all. We have had a rainy day off and on since this morning. The temp has dropped and wind kicked up a bit so it will be cooler tomorrow. Did my grocery shopping this morning and that's about it. Have boneless, skinless chicken thighs on the stove and sweet potato tots in the oven. Took Wally out 4 times for a walk and otherwise have been a sloth. Chele - hopefully some Arm & Hammer in the fridge will remove the interesting odor . Glad that the allergies gave you a break with the rain. Yep, I have always been an emotional eater and stress eater with sweets being my nemesis. Karen - sounds like you've been a busy lady. Congrats on your loss and being so committed to eating properly. I won't get there until my head is there with my body unfortunately. Hope Arya and Dale are doing well. Took the pups to the park yesterday which was Wally's first time. It seemed to go well and he enjoyed romping around a bit. I go to the local pet food store each week to get the specific wet and dry food that we've been feeding Wally and Zoe as well but it has helped Wally's tummy tremendously. I guess I could buy larger amounts but it doesn't really bother me to go as it's pretty close by. Linda - hoping you and DH and Micki have spent the day catching up on sleep and snuggling. Nothing like being back in your own bed again. Kathy - let me know what you think of rejoining. I get the emails constantly but just do not have the desire to have to think every day so much about tracking. How is the weather today? Sounds like you were going to get warmer again. Becky - glad you were able to enjoy a really great grilled chicken salad. Your weather really has been a cornucopia of all kinds of wind, and temps up and down. How are the joints feeling? This dampness is no friend to any of my joints but I keep moving in between resting so I am hoping to keep the pain to a minimum. Hope you all have a nice evening ladies. Ciao for now~

Chele, I do still use olive oil for my herbal stuff but am really careful about the brands I buy. Do you get your olive oil imported from Iggy's family or buy it locally? It's kind of odd olives are a fruit but their juice is an oil. I have read some articles about deceptive labeling for some olive oils that are actually olive oil mixed with genetically modified cheap oils like soybean oil, but they are labeled as EVOO. I had the exhaust fan on high so the rice stench was somewhat controllable except when I opened the pot to stir it. The tongue keeping you out of the fridge might not be a bad thing. LOL Did Iggy enjoy it? How was the zucchini?
You may be onto something, Kathy, about eating like DM. It seems to be working for her so far. Mediterranian is supposed to be healthy and they don't eat a lot of meat. There is saffron in the rice, but that's not what it smells like. I was looking at the wrong 50K for Dale's race. The one he is doing is called Run Amok, which is on the same weekend in the same general area. I don't know if MFP is working so well for me but it makes tracking easier.
Linda, you won't have much rest with your list for the day. Definitely get foods that will let you get a good start on weight loss. Do you eat a lot of fruits and veggies? I would think they would be fairly available where you live.
Liz, I'm glad Wally had fun at the park and that what you're feeding him agrees with him. Has he totally recovered from the chicken bone issues he had? Is he starting to settle in better? Sorry your weather has been so on and off lousy today. Are you going to get any wintry weather this week, given that we will be below freezing in the morning and you're usually colder than we are? I hope your work week will go better than usual. Has your census decreased? One of the webinars I watched today was Dr. Michelle McMacken from Bellvue's weight management program. She was excellent and shared lots of ideas on how to eat a healthy diet without breaking the bank.
I guess I do ok with restrictions, Becky, after almost 30 years as a vegetarian before going whole foods plant based. Sometimes it's a challenge to eat in a restaurant, but most places have baked potatoes, rice, etc., so it's doable. It's good that your weight has stabilized this week. We've had some wind today as well and are temps are like yours.

Becky, doesn’t it figure the sale would be on after you made your purchase? We have never had trouble with internet service but cell service inside the house is a different story. Only ATT works inside and never at a full 4 bars. I net all the wild flowers are pretty. It is a little early here for the wild flowers. We had a real feel of 15° this morning.
Liz, I am happy to hear you got some down time and the pups got some playtime. We have decided not to get a dog at this point since our financial situation has changed dramatically. I am living vicariously through everyone else’s pets at this point. Your weather today is what we had yesterday. It was sunny today but windy and cold. The Arm & Hammer is a good idea.
Kathy, I use American style chili powder and cayenne in my chili too. I will definitely not use a lot of the Indian chili powder. My Italian American family were all heavy weights so I guess we did not follow the healthy Mediterranean diet. My Midwestern family ate a traditional Midwestern meat and carb diet and were all regular weight. Guess who I take after? How were the aunts? Has DM recovered?
Karen, the zucchini was delicious. Iggy hasn’t had any of the tongue yet. I think he is afraid to give up meat and poultry because he tends to get anemic. I tried to tell him that lots of plant based foods have iron but... We can’t bring in his family’s EVOO because of import fees a d restrictions plus the FDA. We buy a Lebanese brand he is familiar with. They don’t seem to have the issues that the Italian a d Spanish companies have with cheating. You can see, smell and taste the difference. The kind we buy even has a greenish tint to it. I am glad you managed to keep the yellow rice aroma to a minimum. .

I had beef tongue sliced thin a couple times in deli sandwich...tasted pretty much like beef to me.
Too tired to mow lawn. I did errands...Walgreens, Restocking groceries and getting new dog food to slowly switch Micki off Hills to Royal Canin. He seems ti like the dry for schnauzers.Sure would be great to have a dog that mostly ate dry. their cans are $3!
Pot roast is cooking on stove for later...never made one in the oven! I guess new England style us what my area learned. Early night...yawn.
