Yesterday's WW workshop was <meh>. The topic was "finding a buddy" - focusing on an EXERCISE buddy. <<double meh>>. When I go to LA-Fitness to work with my trainer, I guess whoever-that-is-at-the-moment is my "buddy". Toots & I do yardwork together (and we did, for HOURS, yesterday afternoon). But spending a whole meeting finding "good reasons" to exercise with someone? NOT holding my interest. <sigh>.
KressSibs Monthly Breakfast was great fun. We didn't go in January or February due to weather limitations (seemed like most Saturdays were crummy for driving). DBabySis still hasn't come out of hibernation - perhaps in April; we're scheduled for 4/28.
NASCAR Xfinity racing was at 1 PM so the Kressling stayed here until it was over (LOTS of accidents, so it ran long). Then his parents picked him up for his soccer game and we went out to work in the yard. It's mostly-cleaned-up now, and we can start planning for any additions/adjustments for 2019.
Today? We are going to SUNDAY Steak Dinner (location TBD). We are off-duty for any/all DGKids and there's no blizzard/monsoon going on. As a matter of fact, I'm sitting in a sunbeam. It's supposed to get cloudy and rainy around here mid-day but right now it's not and I am enjoying the moment.
The rest of our day? Toots wants to hang a mirror that has been awaiting our attention. NASCAR Monster Energy Cup (the "big dogs") starts at 3 PM.
I am savoring my coffee... βββ... and the day...
πΏπ·πΏπ·πΏπ·πΏπ·πΏ Have a healthy-eating day, all. πΏπ·πΏπ·πΏπ·πΏπ·πΏ

Hmmm...... Pictures can lie, but sometimes that can help.
I published the large family photograph on FB. I was fine w/ it, because I looked like me. I am 16-22 lbs over GW depending. . . That's how it is for me right now.
I did not, however, publish the photograph w/ my parents & us children. The saggy coach, the side pose, & extra roomy tee made me look 40 or more lbs heavier. Ugh! My brother shared it on FB. Oh well...
I am letting the second picture be a warning to myself. I am under a lot off stress & it's mounting. I will let the "ugh" picture spur me to do more, not less, to take care of myself. I do not want my weight to creep further. And that could easily happen as things unravel here. R is losing his job, his coworker is causing problems, & the company has no clear details on the time or condition of their release. R is a mess! Although Dad recovered from his fall before Xmas, he heart has been declining steadily. Dad had a mass heart attack of his left ventricle & a tricky surgery when he was 43/44. He almost died. About 35% of His heart was damaged & he had to have experimental surgery. At the time, he only had a 30% survival rate. That was almost 50 years ago. He has lead an amazingly full life & been an Energizer bunny even though his heart & other medical issues should have seen him resting in a recliner or in Heaven.
So I will do more to make myself a priority and give gratitude for all that is good in my life. I can whittle down that difference between my present weight & GW. But I do not need to add more stress. I will shoot for striking a balance.
Thx for being willing to listen.

Mj Enjoy your steak "dinner date" and racing excitement. Sure wish that your situation at LAnFitness was better. Have decided just to WI once a month for now. I, too, am getting tired of the shorter recycling of standard topics. And sadly the member- driven segments can go "south" very quickly w/o the right leader. Our leader is out for an indefinite time following an injury. I do not want to quit altogether though.

LOL MJ I read the 'topic' online and wasn't impressed! Enjoy your steak dinner, coffee and sunbeam sitting. Carl and LuLa are my walking buddies ((June)) being under stress is no fun at all. I hear you LOUD and CLEAR with getting that 'balance' with weight and in all other areas of life. I know, easier said than done. Know that this is a safe place to come and vent. Lord knows I've done more than my fair share. Time for more coffee.....Will CBL

That's the kind of attitude (IMO) that sets us up for a positive result. And you know we're all here to help, however we can...

Thank you Ann! MJ - I have not been at all impressed with the recycling of the topics that barely apply to me (and any long time maintainer), although my coach does her best to keep it as engaging as possible. Still I will go because I know what happens when I don't go. Maybe once the turnover at the gym settles down, so will your routine. June - <<<hugs>>> This job thing with R has been over your heads for a very long time now. And your parents have to be a huge concern. Yes, balance is the key. I remember a poster from many, many years ago. I don't remember the beginning but the ending was "When you are knee deep in alligators, it's difficult to remember that the original objective was to drain the swamp" We are here to lean on.

Still I will go because I know what happens when I don't go. Maybe once the turnover at the gym settles down, so will your routine. This is where I am. I've been going to 2 workshops, one on Thursday and one on Saturday. The Thurs coach (YEARS as a leader, together with her overall personality) has a better handle on how to make the canned message palatable; the Sat coach (a newbie to the coaching scene - and to WW, since she is also a new-ish Lifetimer) is less skilled. The Sat bunch is our WW "Family" Breakfast group, and THAT is great fun. Knitting helps, when there's dead space... As for the gym... Trainer #3 is gone. Trainer #4 (this Friday's sub, who apparently is now my go-to) is not available this week so I will work with the Assistant Training Director on Friday only, for a double session. Trainer #4 is the one picking up all these clients whose trainers are gone - SHE is overbooked and getting on the schedule with her is problematic. The Training Director scheduled me for the week of 4/7 but could not go further due to their computer program. The saga continues... and meanwhile, every session is a getting-to-know-Mj experience <thhhbbbpppttt>.

Susi thanks for sharing that quote. MJ I also love the new avatar. Both are very true. I'm happy with my decision to show up monthly for the meeting, collect my etool voucher and keep my lifetime status up to date. I used to enjoy the meetings when I traveled to Leominster 1.5 hours each way...not so much the 'leader' but the people there. Most of them have dropped out, so that is why I stopped going. That and the ride was just getting to me. The place in town leaves much to be desired. Nobody really participates in the meeting no matter what the subject is, and the 'leader' asks for someone to READ the hand out while we all sit and 'follow along'...Nope, not for me! I find my support from coming to the board and reading and participating in the groups that I am involved with. It's all a balancing act......when I stray the scale lets me know! Also my jeans

I spent most of the day Saturday with my nose in the book I was reading. Sat evening we were invited out to eat Hibachi so I did indulge a little last night...also had some wine. Back on the straight and narrow today. I've walked everyday for the past nine days and hope to continue stringing those days one after another. I need to catch up on posts but I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! June, prayers coming your way. Please let us know if we can do anything for you! Ann, your crock meal sounds great Susi, great pics of your trip and you do look fabulous! Becky, Congrats on the new calf...so special! Audrey, where will your travels take you? you always do neat trips. Over my spring break DH and I are going to Miami, the Florida Keys and the Everglades...I've been to Florida several times but never to the places I mentioned. We are pretty pumped. MJ, hope your steak dinner is great! Cathy, great plans again.

Last night I fell flat on the tile floor and a spare bedroom. George wanted me to plug-in the heated blanket and I was rushing so I could finish watching the basketball game. As I was putting seven throw pillows on a bed in the spare bedroom my foot caught on the corner of the bed and I fell flat. Today I have a blackeye and a sore right hip. Life continues though. Whitney has a very bad case of strep and Rob asked me if I could buy a loaf of bread and chart of raspberry jam to bring to his house because he has the two active little boys. I went as is to the grocery store and brought them to him. They live really close to where we live. I went through all of my T-shirts to put aside some to donate at others to launder and a third group to fold and put on the shelf. I am watching the last episode of homecoming with a heating pad on my right hip and the dryer is going. I have other tests I will just slowly during the day but I wonβt do any exercise. Sorry for no personals at this time.

June Thanks for the explanation and I figured that's why it was started early.Pot roast does sound good.We are having steak for the next few nights with sides TBD.I'm with you on wishing we had a Trader Joe or Whole Foods nearby. The farm animals do have their own schedule for sure.I heard a cow bawling so Kenneth went out to see and she was having him then.I still haven't seen him.Scooter was upset last night because one of the cats was doing her prowling thing during the night and kept us awake for awhile.I finally got her settled with me and we were able to sleep the rest of the night. However this morning Scooter got an upset tummy and we found out why.She had found out why the cat was roaming during the night and she brought out the dead baby mouse.Oh the fun of having inside pets as well. There are no used sporting goods places around here.I have gotten my exercise bikes at Academy in the past but they don't have any in the store and I don't want to order one online from them.I hope you got in your grocery shopping.
Ann I'm sure your house is smelling really good by now.
Welcome back Susi.I'm glad you arrived home safely.I'm sure Charlie will shadow you everywhere for awhile. He was so glad to see you.I am glad you enjoyed your trip.

MJ While it might be fun to have a walking buddy but a regular exercise buddy? No thank you WW.I haven't read the weekly yet.I hope you enjoyed your steak dinner.Enjoy watching the race.
June You have been under a lot of stress with the not knowing about R's job and your parents.Give yourself some slack on that and just try to make yourself a priority also. You need to take care of you before you can take care of others.A balance sounds good.We are always here to listen. If I were doing meetings I don't think I could do weekly meetings anymore.
Ann I wish I could take Scooter walking with me but she gets so wild and fast she would probably be in the next county before I got home.LOL.I would be like you and go just once a month for free e-tools.I didn't care for the only meeting remotely close to me and during the winter months we would be going and coming home in the dark since it doesn't start until 6 or 6:30(I forget which one).
MJ I do wish they could find you a trainer that would be there consistently for you.
LaDonna Way to go in walking so many days in a row.I'm going to put on my jacket shortly and see if it's comfortable enough to walk even with the wind blowing.
Audrey I feel so badly for you falling last night.I hope your black eye and sore hip go away soon.Try to get some rest.
My tracking only on MFP didn't last long as it's just so hard and cumbersome for me anyway tracking 0 point fruits & veggies.I decided to give freestyle a 3 month go on digital to see if I can maintain at least on it.At the end of the 3 month promotion I will reassess and see what I want to do from there.
Have a great afternoon all.

Our crock pot meal was very tasty. We took a plate to a lady that lives a few houses from us as she isn't feeling well. We still have enough left over for another go around later in the week I like that! All you ladies that travel go to such wonderful places. Me? Not so much. I'm a homebody at heart LOL. I do enjoy seeing the pictures, though LaDonna great job on all that walking. I find that once I get into the 'habit' I want to keep up my momentum. Today it was just too rainy to deal with walking outdoors. I picked up my kindle and 'house walked' as I read. I go from one end of the house to the other LOL and repeat. It gets the job done! I've exceeded my Garmin goal so far by 130 steps and I'm happy about that. How nice that you got invited out, LaDonna. No big deal with a little indulgence here and there. We all do it from time to time. (((Audrey))) so sorry for you fall. I hope that you recover quickly and are not too sore tomorrow. Also sorry about poor Whitney. You are such a gem going to the store to pick up what they needed...... Becky your story reminded me of our first Boston Terrier Luigi! We were out walking him and he managed to swallow a field mouse! We were not aware of it as he was super fast with things like that. When we got home, he wouldn't eat his food which was not like him at all. I was sitting on the couch when he came over to 'mamma' and puked up the rodent on my slipper!!!! Then, happy as a lark he went to his bowl and proceeded to eat his food. We also don't have a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's nearby. Last time I wanted my 21 Salute spice from Trader Joe's I ordered it from Amazon. Years ago when I was part of Spark people I tried tracking on their site and I found it too difficult. I do double track but on paper and on the weight watcher site only. Going to do a little more online stuff and then SIT down to read my kindle LOL. Sweet dreams.
