WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

1526 calories 26 points 20+ APs (step class, 5 mile run, 2 senior fit classes not counted)
I feel like my stomach is already flatter, after only three days. I didnโt realize how much more I was eating. It was fine for maintaining, but certainly not ok for losing a few pounds. By combining WW with calorie counting, Iโm finding the two methods keep each other in check. Iโm more satisfied when I eat zero and low point foods, and Iโm able to keep my calories much lower. Counting calories keeps me from consuming too many zero point foods.
Nancy, the urgency with which they had you come in had me very concerned. What a relief that itโs not serious!
Lori, any news on jury duty? Yes, I will gauge results on how I look and on how my clothes fit. Iโm looking forward to a few pairs of my favorite summer pants fitting looser! MFP has a great summary of both macro and micronutrients, but Iโm using itrackbites and I donโt want to double track. The three macronutrients are fat, carbohydrates, and protein. Micronutrients include things like vitamins and minerals. Carbohydrates include sugars and fiber.

Nancy, I can't tell you how happy I was to hear your news yesterday. I'm just sorry you had to go thru the weekend with that on your mind...continuing to pray for the best possible outcome for you.
Jan, Trip is still up in the air. I am hoping DH comes home today and says he is done...if not, it looks like we'll have to postpone our trip. The only problem is I have no idea when we would be able to reschedule..Hoping for the best. At least our Texas trip is all set for May 4 to May 9th. Counting calories on Monday's has really helped me in the maintenance area also. It's not something I would do long term but it's a great tool!!! Your clothes will be fitting looser in no time!!

Jan - I found the same advantage to counting points and calories. I'm so glad it's working for you.
Lori - Can't wait to hear if the trip is still on. I'm sure hoping it is.
