AC maintenance is done. Tech got here at 11:45 am and just left. The coil in the compressor needed to be cleaned. The cottonwood that flies around here was like a blanket on the coil. I was hoping to get away with just getting a new filter. This tech lives in our area and gave me a tip on a good plumber that is just 4 miles down the road and he does weekend calls without charging premium rates.
I got out into the yard and cleaned an herb bed from debris and early spring weeds. It is sunny so I got some Vitamin D. While I was waiting for the tech I walked the house and got some exercise then I balanced the books. I am going to grab something light for lunch since I missed it and am making a veggie pizza for dinner along with a salad.
I hope you are all having a good Tuesday.

Good Afternoon Chicks,
Stopping in for a quick hello and to see how you all are doing.
Chele - glad the AC maintenance went well. I had just mentioned to Gary that we need to do the same. It's a wonder your allergies aren't doing the tango and samba and a few other dances with all the lovelies flying through the air and you cleaning out herb beds. A bit easier so far but I'm almost afraid to say that given last week. Knees still hurt like the dickens but the blood work came back from the Rheumatoid bundle and as we all thought they all seem to be negative. I even got tested for Lymes and that was negative as well.
Karen - how are you feeling today? How is that tick bite spot? They are little stinkin critters that make me crazy! We have had a number of really bad spring and summer seasons with them. How are the feets?
Linda - how are your joints doing today? Nice that you were able to find some goodies at the store. I think I read Blueberry Balsamic which sounds really interesting.
Kathy - how are you today? Is it still rainy and stormy there?
Becky - how are you doing today? Any word on the gel shot approval yet?
Alright dear ladies, I have to get back to fighting the forces of evil as they are rampant! Ciao for now~

Chele, I'm glad the service went well but sorry they hit late in the window instead of early. Great on getting a recommendation on a nearby plumber who won't charge an arm and a leg for emergencies. What are you planning to put in the herb bed, now that it's nice and clean? Too bad you don't live closer or we could go to the Asheville Herb Festival together the first Friday in May and get some good stuff for you. Enjoy your veggie pizza. What kind of crust will it have and which veggies? I looked at the olive oil/vinegar site, Linda. I could do some major damage on that site with just the vinegars. Sorry things are heating up already. How does 161 days under 90 compare to a typical year? How is Micki's food transition going? Kathy, I am happy to report that the TN men's coach won't be going to UCLA and they also hired our choice for women's coach. So all is right today in the basketball world. Did you get storms yesterday? I hope you won't get into the 90s too soon. We are low 70s right now but it's sticky humid. I didn't realize they had postponed a Space X. Yes, the weather doesn't look particularly good this week either. We saw First Man last night. Have you seen it? I'm glad you didn't get as much rain as other places in TX, Becky. How much of a problem would you have if you had gotten 8" of rain at your place? At least the aquifers will be happy. So disappointed for Texas Tech. I was looking for them to take the title. If the sun is out, Scooter should be a happy girl, as long as she can stay out of the heat. Liz, great to have you check in so early in the week. I don't think you got much bang for your buck on the shot you paid for. I hope things don't ramp up any more this week and they will stay a bit easier for you. Heaven knows you deserve it. Congrats on passing the blood tests with flying colors. At least you know what's not going on. The tick bite spot seems to be a little less swollen today and no symptoms so far. They are definitely little stinkin' critters. Other than food for oppossums, what good are they? I don't remember ever having any when I was growing up, and we had a cow pasture on the opposite side of the road and woods behind us. I'm afraid the mild winter we had is going to make them come out in force. Feets are coming along nicely. Right foot is about 95% and left about 80%. Scar on left foot is pretty gnarly looking still but the one on the right is fading, hopefully with the help of my homemade salve. Got back from the dentist a while ago and no cavities or other issues. I went to AF first and then picked up a few things at Aldi. When I got home, Dale said we had just gotten the report from the tax accountant and the news wasn't good. Part of it was that one of the annuities from DM's estate had to be cashed out, so we owed on that. But our investments also did rather well last year, so we ended up owing there. So I hope all of you got refunds so I know the money went to a good cause. We had close to an inch of rain overnight and into the morning, so my nice clean car is no longer clean. It looked really good for 5 days; of course it was in the garage the entire time.

Karen Thanks for the start.
Chele I'm glad the AC maintenance is done. You got a good bit done today. How do you make your veggie pizza?
Liz I'm glad all the labs came back negative but I know that's small comfort since you still hurt.I hope things continue to be a little easier this week.Since I have a Medicare Advantage Plan I'm sure it will take at least 2 weeks for the approval and since he has to order the injections it will be longer than that.We are going to Bastrop tomorrow for the x-rays.
Karen We had way more rain than that when Harvey came through and 2 out of 3 roads to Elgin were closed for a couple of days.I haven't asked my brothers if they were flooded yet. That crazy Scooter with as hot as it was this afternoon stayed on her chair in the sun while I walked. It was 88 degrees and I felt every bit of the 50 minutes I walked because of the heat. It's supposed to get up to 93 tomorrow so I will walk in the morning before we leave for my x-rays.Then Thursday and Friday we are expecting a slight cool down in the 70's before we get rain on Saturday but it's not supposed to be as much as last weekend.I'm glad your dental visit went well.I'm sorry you will end up paying in.We got a smaller refund than normal and it went toward a loan so it's already gone.
Hi to Kathy and Linda.

Chele, cottonwood is allergy nasty! Our pollen is back up to 11 on the 12 scale. 97 yesterday, 96 right now with wind from new system coming in , 20 mph with gusts to 40 really spreading pollen! Fire hazard watch here.
Liz, I am so glad you do not have RA. mom had it 30 years with no remission in her whole body. replaced toe joints, knees , hips, and the meds destroyed her bones so her shoulder broke falling back against her pillow. That was replaced. The disease acts like rhumatic fever on organs.

Chele, glad the AC maintenance wasn't too bad and it's good to have the rec on the plumber. I've used one here that was reasonable, so will probably use them again. How did the veggie pizza come out? Do you make your own crust?
Liz, so glad to hear they rule out RA and Lymes, but wish they could figure out something for you to help with the pain. We had a strong storm yesterday, but today we've just gotten some showers. The Space X launch was delayed again and last I heard they're going to try for tomorrow.
Karen, that's good news on your coaches. It's sticky humid here too and it's been inching closer and closer to 90. Can't complain too much compared to Linda's temps! I haven't seen First Man yet, but it's one I want to see. I finally got around to watching the Mary Queen of Scots movie. After watching Reign, I think it was too much story to try and compress into a movie. The actors were good though. I almost didn't recognize David Tennant as John Knox. That was some beard! No refund for me either, mostly due to investments too.
Becky, that's pretty hot weather for walking, so good plan to go early tomorrow. I'm surprised Scooter would want to be out there with her black coat.
Linda, I've seen some videos of the pollen being spread by storms coming in. Seems like it's bad everywhere this year.

Catalogued a 1949 wedding dress and coat today at the museum.
Lost another pound. I am only three up from last year.
Tonight is chicken salad sandwiches with part of roll removed and Cooking light's blueberry, feta, pecan, And spring greens salad.
Weather suddenly in the upper 90s for two days sends us to summer fare. Back to 75 tomorrow. sure is windy and pollen is 11 on scale of 12.

Liz, good to hear from you today. I am glad you don‘t have RA or Lyme disease. I hope they can find out what you do have or is it a bad case of osteoarthritis? May the week remain easier for you. So far the allergies have been fair today. A bit of eye burning and ear clogging but not too bad considering I was in the weeds.
Karen, sorry to hear about the taxes but happy your investments did well. Glad the tick bite is healing and the feet are improved. Congrats in the good dental report. I would love to go to the Herb Festival. We usually plant flat parsley, cilantro, if it doesn’t come back on its own, oregano, thyme, rosemary, sage and mint. Our mint used to thrive but the past two years it has not done well. We work the soil every year and make sure it gets lots of water and I keep the mint patch weeded. I am not sure what has changed. I put sun dried tomatoes, red sweet pepper, mushrooms and green olives on the pizza. It had a regular pizza dough crust this time.
Becky, I have tried a cauliflower crust but I didn’t have the Trader Joe’s brand that Linda found and liked. I tried a frozen cauliflower crust from Kroger and it tasted like cardboard. I have also tried making my own pizza dough but our favorite dough is a frozen one from Meijer that comes from Michigan called Tiseo. I bake the crust for 5 minutes before I put anything on it. We like it crispy. Iggy doesn’t like sauce on his pizza so I out a little tomato paste on my half and sprinkle a little oregano. I get the tomato paste in a tube so I don’t have to open a whole can. Then I put whatever veggies I am using, then a little mozzarella and Parmesan. I use a lot less cheese then Domino's or Pizza Hut. Your refund went to a good cause. I am still deciding which bills to pay off with our refund.
Linda, fire weather already? Yikes! Our tree pollen levels are high but don’t give us a scale like you have. We have low, medium, high and extreme. Congratulations on the lost pound! I bet the wedding dress was really interesting. Was it beaded, lacy, satin, silk or was it more of a suit?
Kathy, I finished A Discovery of Witches. It might be interesting going forward. I will definitely watch the second episode. Glad your investments did well, too. I read an article that said the tax preparation businesses like H&R Block and Turbotax are trying to block the IRS from developing a free online service to file taxes like the other developed countries have. They would lose millions.

Chele, it was bronze satin, made by the bride's mom. She grew up in the depression and did not want a fancy white hien. Do this was a simple sheath in the cocktail dress style of the time. People forget that brides did not always wear white in earlier times.
