Thanks for the start, Chele. Are you having to plant rosemary every year? Does that have something to do with your growing zone? Down here, I have had some ARP rosemary plants live for 15 years. Most of the other varieties won't last more than 5, if that. Strange that your mint is not doing well. It usually grows like a weed. Have you amended your soil lately? I still have part of an old oregano plant that came from the old house. The pizza sounds good. Have you tried making the pizza crust recipe from the Zo manual?
Kathy, you definitely need to see First Man. It took me a little time to recognize David Tennant in Mary Queen of Scots. The beard was a good disguise, but I recognized his eyes. I thought he looked more like Nostradamus than John Knox, though. The John Knox in Reign was more realistic. I agree that they tried to put too much in the movie, and I thought it was a bit overwheming. I guess increasing investments for the future is worth more than having to pay taxes now.
That must be some wedding dress, Linda! DSIL found DM's cleaning things out and it's from 1950 but it is rather traditional. I think they are trying to sell it online. It wouldn't even come close to fitting anyone in the family and nobody has room for it. The salad sounds wonderful and just perfect with chicken salad sandwiches. Scary that it's already fire weather there. Thanks for the tick removal tip. I'll have to remember it next time. Where we live, there will definitely be a next time, and probably soon. The warmish winter we had is going to bring out all the bugs.
Becky, did you do an early walk today? Are your x-rays today or tomorrow? Have you heard anything on the shots?
Halfway through the week, Liz. Now that nothing has been found in your tests, what's the next step?
We have a beautiful day here and I plan to take Arya out on the deck for a while later. I have laundry in the dryer. This afternoon I plan to do bathroom and kitchen floor cleaning. I have black beans soaking to cook for dinner. I also have to check grocery ads so I can make a list for tomorrow. Most of what I need is fruit so I can make a big fruit salad for the master gardener potluck on Monday. I always try to take something I can eat that others will also like. A nice big bowl of fruit sounds really good.

Karen, we do have to plant rosemary every year. We had a potted rosemary that overwintered last year a d did well over the summer. It did well up until January and then it started dying out. The oregano, sage, cilantro and thyme usually come back. We have to replant every once in awhile. We seed the parsley and basil every year. We have really worked the soil because of the clay here, so the mint should be doing well. We plant spearmint and it got cross contaminated with an orange mint, so we had to dig it out and replant the spearmint and ever since it has not done well. We got rid of the orange mint.
I have not tried the Zo recipe yet. Have you?
It is a much cooler and cloudy day here. I have just been doing housework, so not an exciting day.

Rosemary is an in-ground shrub with blue flowers that survives summer here! People make hedges out of it. Have you tried growing it inside in winter in a sunny window?
A bowl of fruit that is cold sounds good here.
getting cranky between allergies and UTI for two weeks. Doc changed antibiotic this morning as the other did 2/3 of the relief and stalled with two days left. So glad to stay home today.
Boy is it windy and we are at 11.4 on the 12 scale for pollen. I had to give Micki apoquel this morning and dh has the sore throat and sinus drip big time. Walgreens clerk said they are selling a ton of stuff for allergies this week!
Yesterday I put my light pullover sweater with the winter part of the closet--got it back out and on today--62 this morning, 96 yesterday afternoon.

Chele, is your herb garden large enough that you could plant the rosemary in a pot then put it someplace more sheltered when it gets really cold? ARP is the variety you want to look for when buying rosemary. You could also plant your mints in pots and that could keep them from cross contaminating. I've never had orange mint. The best variety I have ever grown is chocolate mint. I have one plant that is probably 4 or 5 years old and still coming back each spring. I have to wonder if you have some kind of critters affecting your soil or your plants that is doing things even to the mints. Have you had a soil test? It might be worth it, even if OH charges (NC didn't but it's $15 in TN, even for master gardeners). You could get that done through your county extension office. I tried the Zo pizza crust recipe a few years back and it came out well. Being Italian, it would probably do even better for you. I did the regular one, not the one with flat beer. Sorry about your cool weather. We are nearly to 70 headed for mid 70s. Windows are open, which probably isn't the best idea pollen-wise, but it feels great! Sorry the antibiotic quit working before it should have, Linda. I hope the next one will clear things up quickly. It's no wonder you haven't been feeling well, between that and the pollen. I hate that all of you are going through it right now. Drug stores and allergy docs are very busy right now here as well. Sounds like you have winter in the a.m. and summer in the p.m. Hard to dress. We are supposed to be low 50s when I leave for Osteo tomorrow but 80 by the time I get home. So I guess I'll dress for the 80 and put the heat on in the car in the morning. I just sat down for a few minutes after cleaning the shower and bathroom and kitchen floors. After the floors dry, I'll go back in and tackle sinks and toilets. I optimistically decided to wash the blankets we use watching TV in the winter. I hope that wasn't a mistake. Back to the grind! After I get finished cleaning, we're going out on the deck for a while!

Thanks for the start Chele.I had never heard of national siblings day before.I guess that's because none of us are close.
Karen I went for a long walk around 8:00.Then we went to Bastrop for the standing x-rays which did not take long.I went to Beall's while over there to look for a dress but nothing jumped out of me.We also went to Academy.I needed a new pair of sneakers and Kenneth needed blue jeans. He was hungry after that so we went over to Taco Cabana to eat and came home.It was 88 but with a heavy wind and didn't feel too bad so I went for a slightly shorter walk.I'm done walking for the day.Since the dr is only in Bastrop on Thursday's who knows how long it will be before I find out anything.A nice bowl of fruit does sound good.
Linda I'm sorry the antibiotics aren't getting rid of the UTI.It took about 10 days for mine to completely go away.
Karen We keep our blankets out because we get cooler in the mornings sometimes and once it gets hot and I run the AC every day Kenneth will use his at night. For some reason it's cooler on his side of the LR.When I was over here it seemed too hot to me but now with the ceiling fan on I get cooler when I sit on his chair.
Hi to Kathy and Liz.

Chele, thanks for the start. I don't think siblings day has caught on like some of the other Hallmark holidays. I saw a new Green Giant frozen cauliflower pizza crust and thought about what you said on the one that tasted like cardboard. Was that the brand you tried? I didn't realize you had that large of an herb garden. Hope it does well this year.
Karen, I agree on the Mary movie trying to include too much. You can't disguise David Tennant's eyes or his voice, especially when he gets to speak in his native Scottish accent. I've seen drawings of John Knox with and without the big beard, but I don't know which was more accurate. Maybe both, just in different time periods. The fruit salad sounds good.
Linda, hope the antibiotics work and you're feeling better soon. Thanks for the tick removal tip, but I hope I never have to use it!
Becky, sounds like a busy day. I'm close to my sister, but we don't celebrate siblings day.
Liz, how did the tugs do this week? Hope you're not having late nights again.
