Good morning. I’m in. Clear and sunny here this morning. But it won’t be ery warm. I can deal with that. Heading out for coffee with a friend in a while, then I’ll stock up on some groceries and come home to do some cooking. Yesterday’s stint in the kitchen was mostly successful. Peach streusel muffins, Pasta é Fagioli, and Turkey chili were a success and are in the freezer. The Turkey meatloaf was a total flop and is gone gone gone. DebDoesWW, I thought the soup was very good and think you’ll like it. That’ it for now. KOKO

Good morning.
Getting a head start on Spring cleaning, otherwise known as doing housework I have been putting off for a while.
Bought too many vegetable and now have to think of something to do with them. Asparagus, zucchini, English cucumbers, mushrooms. Pasta primavera, minus the cucumbers, I think. Then a cucumber dill salad---my dill is growing in the basement beautifully. Regular dill would have taken over the house but I found some "Compatto" dill seeds online and the plant is gorgeous, full, compact, and needs trimming. It's the prettiest dill plant I have ever seen. Salmon for dinner will use up more of the dill and go nicely with the cucumber salad.
On my fifth load of laundry. Carry on.

fullmahina pasta primavera sounds divine Yesterday, however, I had pasta for dinner with arabiata sauce, one glass of zinfandel and a 110 calorie black and white cookie. Lunch was at a restaurant with a steak salad no dressing. I regained the 4 pounds I was down yesterday morning. The only way I can lose is to stay away from processed carbs and restaurants. i track everything I eat on Lose It and was below my allotted calorie level but I did not have enough protein and too many carbs yesterday. Sigh I have had increasing hip pain since my fall and have a harder time moving in the morning until I get going in the sense of walking more. I live with he who looks down on chiropractors even though he does legal work for them so I am going to call for an appointment with the one who works in the office with my orthopedic surgeon. If Kevin, my doctor, likes him that is good enough for me. It does not take a rocket scientist to know my body is out of alignment. Tomorrow we are attending a black tie event at the convention center and the walking will be painful so I will try to exercise today as much as I can. I have nothing this morning and at one p.m. I am going to a celebration of life for a club member who passed away at age 100. She lived an exemplary life. DH and I are going to dinner at the seafood restaurant but I can choose wisely and all of my other meals and snacks are at home. Have a wonderful day.

Yesterday’s stint in the kitchen was mostly successful. Peach streusel muffins, Pasta é Fagioli, and Turkey chili were a success and are in the freezer. The Turkey meatloaf was a total flop and is gone gone gone. This isn't strictly a meatloaf but it's very good. www.skinnytaste.com/giant-turkey-meatball-parmesan/I used dotren's idea of doubling it & using 1 pound 93% turkey & 1 pound 99% turkey. I combine everything & do 2 meatballs. I slice one down & freeze it. Everyone in my family loves it & I've made it several times. I was dubious about using 99% but it works well in this. The loaf also slices well. I think I made a couple other changes (like seasoning my own breadcrumbs & adding a bit more tomato paste). I can verify that if you decide to try it.

Thanks! I will add the recipe to Paprika to try in the future. In today’s grocery run I bought ingredients to make a beef-based, BBQ-sauce glazed meatloaf.

End of the day. Today was a lower-energy day because I did not sleep all that well last night.
I enjoyed coffee with a friend this morning, then laid in some groceries.
I wasn’t feeling like a lot of cooking today, but I decided to kill off starchy sides. I broke out the new microwave to give it a test run and cooked potatoes for mashed potatoes in it; it did great. Then I broke out the InstantPot and made a huge batch of white rice. The potatoes and rice are all portioned out and in the freezer.
After a nap this afternoon I felt a bit reinvigorated so I threw together the Barbecue Meat Loaf and it is in the oven as I write this.
