Bob's fever is down this morning. I made him sleep in instead of getting up and walking the dog , who really only wants a quick pee and his breakfast , then to be on the bed with me and my coffee to get petted. Got him to eat fruit salad and toast. no oarticular plans.

Thanks for the start, Karen.
Linda, I hope you, Bob and Micki are getting the rest you need.
Iggy and I were both feeling lazy this morning. We didn’t get out of bed until 8 and then we went out to breakfast. Next onto the plant nursery to scope out bushes for the front yard. We got some ideas but it is too early to plant here. We usually have to wait until May 15 to be sure of being frost free. Then we went to Lowe’s for a couple of things and onto CVS. We came home for a little bit before we go out for sushi. We were still full from breakfast so we skipped lunch.
I hope all is well in your world.

Linda, I'm glad Bob is on the mend. LOL about Micki just wanting to pee and then breakfast. Sounds like someone else I know who is laying next to me snoring at the moment. How are you feeling? Is the antibiotic still doing its job? Guess it will be a quiet weekend around your house. Nice that the new laptop is working well. Is it a Mac? Dale has a funky trackpad on his Chromebook and it drives me nuts when I have to look at something on it and use that trackpad.
I hope HEB wasn't a zoo today, Becky. Congrats on the unanticipated loss. The walking may well be what's doing it, given that muscle weighs less than fat. Do you feel like you're toning up in your lower body? Walking on country roads can definitely be a challenge.
Chele, I saw something on FB that made me think of you. It said, "I'm not saying your perfume is too strong. I'm just saying the canary was alive before you got here." Do you feel like the canary sometimes? How did Iggy's work week go? When is his first out of town assignment? Did the two of you go out and about today?
Are you getting some rest today, Liz? I hope you didn't have too many errands to run this morning. Will you be in Jersey only for the day next weekend or will it be an overnighter? What's the status on Zoe's allergies and tail? Any more Wally accidents?
Kathy, when are the spring scrimmage games for FSU and UCF? Tennessee's Orange and White game is today but it conflicts with a Giants baseball game so we may not catch any of it. I can't believe we are already seeing some college football. What do you have going on this weekend?
Dale got up at 4 to go to his race and I don't think I ever got back to sleep. Arya woke up several times and I managed to get her settled back down, but we got up for good a little after 6. So, despite going to bed a bit early, I didn't get any more sleep and I'm feeling it. His race went well, despite the entire bike leg being in the rain. The bike he wanted to use has a wheel issue, so he ended up having to take his "fast" bike and kept having to remind himself to slow down due to wet roads. He placed first in his age group but I think he had the most fun out of helping a couple of first-timers, one mid 60s and the other a teenager, with getting all their equipment set up so they wouldn't be so stressed out. Triathlon is a sport of organization, from having to train simultaneously for 3 sports to having everything organized in your set up area so you can go from one sport to the other without wasting a lot of time. I washed a load of workout clothes after he got home (everything he had was wet), but the only other thing I accomplished was transplating a couple dozen zucchini seedlings into larger pots. Most of those will probably go to the master gardener's plant sale in a couple of weeks. I keep most of my extra gardening supplies in the loggia under the screened porch and had to rinse the pollen off the pots before I could plant in them.

We cross posted, Chele. Ahh, to sleep til 8....Definitely too early to plant there, but good to get some ideas. What are you thinking of planting? Will you buy locally or mail order to get exactly what you want? Don't blame you for skipping lunch if you are doing breakfast and dinner out. Enjoy your sushi!

It is a 2018 MacBook air. all We use is Mac. I set up a whole writing lab of them back in the 1990s and maintained it back before they went to system X. I also used a PC lab but it took twice as long for kids to get disks initialized and use the programs and had constant issues.

KOKaren, we are leaning toward the Fire Chief Arborvitae which turns bronze in winter. It is slow growing and will only be 2’ by 2’ in 10 years. Fully grown it is 4’ by 4’. I also liked the Candy Corn Spirea but it is deciduous and I would like something evergreen in front since everything else is deciduous. Iggy’s first trip is May 6-9 to Knoxville! I would go with him but he is traveling by car with colleagues. Iggy’s work week was fine. He was at the Art Museum one day. I am glad Dale enjoyed the pre-race helping out the newbies and that he had a good race. I haven’t been able to see the pollen but the ash and maple trees are in full pollination mode and we have lots of those around here.
Linda, we have mostly Apple products but we do have a Surface Pro. Iggy prefers MS office products and he has a better understanding of the MS operations.
Today was warm, partly and in the the low sixties and was a perfect day for hopping in and out of the car doing errands. Tomorrow we are expecting strong storms in the morning so I will do laundry. The sushi was great and we brought some home.

Chele, sounds like a nice day out for you and Iggy. How was the sushi?
Linda, hope you and Bob are feeling better. I'm not surprised that the PCs weren't reliable in the 90s. We used UNIX workstations back then for software development since the PCs weren't reliable enough. We started using PCs sometime in the mid 2000s, but used the Linux OS on them instead of Windows.
Karen, UCF's spring game was today and FSU's was last weekend. UCF's injured QB has been on the news a bit lately and he's making good progress, but a long way from being able to play. He still says he wants to come back, but it definitely won't be this year. He's still very involved with the team and I'm wondering if they'll let him do some coaching for the QBs. 4am is an early wake up call. Congrats to Dale on the first place finish! That's a tough sport with the transitions.
Waving to Becky and Liz.

Karen Thanks for the start.
Linda I'm sorry Bob had a fever but I'm glad it's back down.Sleeping in helped a lot I'm sure. How are you feeling?
Chele Good for you and Iggy sleeping in and then going out for breakfast.I hope sleeping in helped some of those sleepless nights you have been having.I can't believe we both slept until 7:00 this morning. That's something that rarely happens with me.It's probably been years since I slept in and got 8 hrs sleep.I did feel better this morning. We never have breakfast at 8:00 but I had to get my 2 cups of coffee in first.Nothing happens before coffee.
Karen We were both surprised HEB was as busy as it was due to it raining all morning. We didn't leave until after 10:00 until it wasn't raining here but by time we finished at HEB it was raining in Elgin again.I don't think we got over 1/2" but it came down hard when it did come down. The wind was really strong but it was to drive the rain out and it did. They just said there were 40 MPH winds. There have been 3 confirmed tornadoes in TX today but none near us.It was really windy when I walked but it felt good since it was a little cooler. It's already down to 60 and Austin is expecting a low of 45 tonight. This must be our pre-Easter cooldown we always have.My thighs are smaller but that's mostly because of the recumbent bike.I don't know if they are actually getting more toned walking. The Longhorns orange and white game is today also.Good for Dale winning his age group.
Liz I hope you were able to relax some today.
Waving to Kathy.

Chele, the Fire Chief would be pretty. What about a dwarf juniper for an evergreen? I have seen some really pretty ones that are blue-green, but I don't recall the variety. Have you thought about a holly to make the birds happy? They can be pretty prickly to keep trimmed, but I think there are some newer varieties with less painful leaves. We had a nice day yesterday after the rain moved out, but I think we are getting the same front this afternoon that you are expecting. Too bad you aren't coming to Knoxville with Iggy. We could have a great time shopping. We have rain right now but as it was starting, I saw this huge cloud of what I thought was smoke rising up from the trees between our property and the neighbors. I didn't see any fire, so I forgot about it until Dale got home from his a.m. run a few minutes ago and said he saw a huge cloud of pollen rising from the trees where he was about a mile or so from here. So I guess I was seeing the same thing from a different grove of trees. You made me hungry for sushi. When I bring some home, I always get enough for a couple of meals and put it in my glass containers as soon as I get home to keep it fresher.
I didn't realize you had rain today, Becky. That would be a day for people to stay home, even on a weekend. 45 is really cool for Austin in mid April. Someone posted a photo of a jar of HEB vegan pesto sauce and I thought about how much I miss HEB.
Kathy, do you think the UCF QB will red shirt this coming season and come back next year? Does UCF have the same QB for the upcoming season who finished out the season for them or did he graduate? Triathlon isn't that tough once you get your transition process and training schedule managed. 4 am is not my favorite time to get up, but we used to get up at 4:30 on week days when I was working due to my commute. Now we get up at 5:30 and I still wish it wasn't so early. Have you started sleeping a bit later since you retired?
Has Bob's fever stayed down this time, Linda? A clean bed can't hurt. I wonder how many of your former students stayed with Macs, given on the experiences they had in your computer lab. I thought about switching several years ago when I got my newest laptop but I was still working and had PCs at the office, so it would have been a challenge doing things at home evenings and weekends with a totally different operating system.
Liz, we missed you yesterday. Hope everything is ok.
It started raining a couple of hours ago, but the heavy stuff is yet to come. We are also at a medium risk for tornadoes, so fingers cross that doesn't happen. I cooked Arya 3 lbs of ground turkey this morning and have peanut butter baked tofu marinating. I will bake that this afternoon at the same time I bake a few purple sweet potatoes. We have Bohemian Rhapsody from Netflix to watch this afternoon so, regardless of weather, we will be entertained.

Good Morning Chicks and thanks for the start yesterday Karen. Chele - glad you were able to sleep in a bit and that you got some good ideas for when planting is appropriate. We had a 70+ day yesterday and it only dropped into the low 60s overnight. Gary took the pups to the vet and I went shopping and running errands. Pollen is dense and starting to cover everything. All the plants seemed to start budding and popping at once. Got out to the grocery this morning after a really bad night of sleep with a sick Wally . Linda - good to know that Bob's temp went back down. Hope he's feeling better today. I'm a bit like Chele's Iggy in that we've always had Apple products also and I am most comfortable with Microsoft office for work. Hope all of you have a restful and peaceful day today. Kathy - waving back at you and hoping you're having a nice weekend. What have you been up to lately? Anything in particular you have planned in the near future? How is DM doing? Becky - Not too much rest for me yesterday; did the Kohl's, Walmart and pet store for errands but managed to get most of the things that I needed. Glad to know you got some extra sleep and that it helped you to feel better. I was surprised that the stores weren't more crowded yesterday with Easter coming up next weekend but glad I didn't have to stand in lines too long. I saw the news about those tornados and am thankful none of them impacted you. This crazy weather across the nation is really out of control! Karen - nice to know that Dale enjoyed helping out the newbies and that he did so well in his race! I called Gary while I was out shopping to see how things went at the vet only to find out that; Zoe has 2 infected ears, conjunctivitis in her eye and the tail cyst was back open and bleeding. Oh happy day! Whoever said dogs weren't as much responsibility as kids sometimes has never had dogs!! I didn't sleep last night as all of a sudden Wally has developed a hacking cough and is spitting up white foam. We're figuring it is either Kennel Cough or a fungal infection. Gary is going to have to get him to the vet tomorrow. I don't know how I'm going to survive another night of no sleep! We are only going down to see Gary's DM for the day on Saturday, don't want to be anywhere near the NJ turnpike on Easter Sunday. I bought her a lovely spring top and some very cute spring kitchen towels for the house. I also bought a couple containers of yellow tulips and managed to get the pups their flea/tick collars. By the way, I neglected to mention that the picture of you at the Osteo wall was terrific! You looked great! I must make a concerted effort to get my PT scheduled early this week and then see how things go from there. I hope the "feets" are continuing to heal and do well. Alright dear ladies, I still have another cup of coffee to make and a few things to finish up. Have a safe and nice Sunday; ciao for now~

Karen - we must have been posting at the same time. I was just busy and burnt out yesterday. Glad you were able to get Arya's food and your peanut butter tofu completed. We have rain in the offing for this evening and overnight and I believe some hefty winds as well.

Liz, I figured you were running errands yesterday. Poor Zoe and Wally. Sorry to hear they are both sick and sorry you are missing sleep. I hope the pups heal quickly and you get some rest. The tulips sound lovely. Are they for you or DMIL? Is DS and fam traveling for Easter? I hope the week is a quieter one. Linda, how is Bob today? Fever down? Have the antibiotics done their job for you? Kathy, we had spring football at OSU and the big news was that one of the players proposed to his GF. The sushi was great. We had the leftovers for breakfast. I know. We are weird. Becky, I am glad the tornadoes missed you. Are you still getting rain today? We have had rain but have not yet had the strong winds they predicted but it is still early. Karen, I do feel like the canary sometimes. Iggy was sautéing onions today and my eyes starting burning from the fumes. I love the quote from Facebook. Our hose bibb in front of the house will be behind the bushes and I want something that won't itch or scratch. I am thinking of putting the spirea where the azaleas were. They were 20 years old and barely producing blooms any more. We also saw some more cone flowers I want in different colors to replace what the shed build destroyed. I just double checked with Iggy and it is a no go on me accompanying him to Knoxville. Clouds of pollen? Ugh! Iggy is doing a few vegetarian dishes while I do laundry. We are both watching the Masters golf tournament in Augusta in between chores. It is a good one this year. Iggy spent many years at the Masters with customers at the other company. Last year they decided not to spend the money. He says he doesn’t miss the hard work.

Chele, if you are a canary, you orobably do not want juniper pollen nearby.
Liz, so sorry about the dogs. hope vet can set that rightand a med is an easy fix. surgery for the tail?
i am so glad we do not actually see clouds of pollen here
Going to have to call Cox cable company and deal with the required new equipment change with digital-view-anywhere and apps without getting an increase in bill, their bundles have extra costly movie channels we do not want two year demand or fine print about costing more later. They have a monoploly here. I could just do dish channels and keep internet. We have it for international. we mostly use apple tv apps.
Bob seems a little better but still sick and wants to live in fruit salad and blueberry muffins. i have to make more salad. my uti seems mistly cleared up,but now we gave the GI antibiotic issue starting. got to step up my kefir and yogurt once the stuff absorbs after taking.
