Safely at the beach house and the Diet Pepsi I got from from KFC has given me some energy. I even did some weeding outside while Jim was napping this afternoon. Nancy: I did get up to the 8,000 yesterday. Today I might hit 6,000 since I am pretty close. Harriet: Glad some of your family is with you. Sandy: Sorry To hear you’re still not feeling good but glad the girls are having a great time. Let’s get into our circle of wagons and sing by the fire. “WE CAN DO THIS, YES WE CAN... WE CAN LOSE NEW POUNDS... MY THIN FRIENDS!”

Hi everyone thanks for the start Kathie. Hope your water is working or is that back at the ranch? Glad you enjoyed your KFC.
Sandy glad that Debbie is having a great time. I enjoyed my time in Pompeii. Sounds like you and Fred have your trip all planned to New Orleans. Glad you’re not going at Mardi Gras.
Harriet we went after Katrina we were surprised how many things they had done to repair the city. Biloxi was good too.
I finished my Reuben yesterday but made the mistake of eating a couple of donuts. Hope today is better. Didn’t get to go to the music. It snowed heavily and Evie and I decided not to go so it was a very dull day. Joel did call. Matt finally finished college and is looking for a job. He wants to get his masters before he goes for his CPA test. Sarah has her house up for sale. Chad, her husband, got a big promotion and now works in Manhattan. He takes the train from Trenton in each day. Eventually he’ll be able to only go in 2 days and work at home the rest of the time. They are looking for a home in Medford Lakes to be nearer to the family, church and the schools that Sarah went to as a child. Hannah has seen a venue she likes and will decide by next week. The date now is August 9. Ruth is in San Diego to a nursing convention. She has met a lot of nurses from all over the world. She will have Easter at her home. Everyone will be there except Tim. He will be taking his family to his wife’s family in the Carolinas. Life is sure busy when you have a large family. Today I hope that I get back in my routine. I’ll walk, dance, hot lunch and the library. I hope everyone has a great day! Hugs and blessings to us all! See you later alligator

Good morning sweet friends. I am getting a good start on my Monday. Sandy, I hope you are feeling better. Kathie, relax while you are at the beach house. I bet you enjoyed weeding. It always gave me a satisfaction to see the other plants neat and clean, but take it easy on you. Nancy, how can you ever be bored. Just keeping up with all of those grandchildren and what they are doing at least keeps your mind busy. So glad someone is keeping you up to date - Joel maybe since he called you?
We did have a nice 24 hours with Amy and her family. She appreciated the break, and being away. I had bought a ham to fix for dinner on Saturday night. Ham is not anything we get here. I gave her the rest of it, and she will bake a turkey breast and have the two for her Easter dinner next week. Last night we had an open house farewell for one of our 4th floor residents who will move out today. This lady lived at the lake, so I knew her before moving here. She is in my book club and also bridge group. She has an arm that is immovable, so she needs more help that they can give her in her apartment and she refused to go to The Woods, our skilled nursing facility. She is moving to an assisted living facility with 24 hour care. She had the money to stay here, but her girls don't want to spend the money it would have required for her to have 24 hour help in her apartment which our management says she needs. I so hope that when we need help it would be significant enough to go to skilled nursing. I guess the big unknown for all of us is how those last years will go down.
On a happier note, this week will be full and busy. Have any of you ever felt you would like to retire from retirement? Though all of the events on the calendar this week will be good, it seems like a very full week. Scrapbook day, a senior health and wellness conference, and the usual holy week services, which for us is four. Some days I want to say, stop the world, I want to get off. I am just not made to be a recluse so here I come week! And, yes, I will stay focused. No time to let my eating get out of hand. Kathie, you are doing amazing on your steps. 4-5,000 is usually what I get. We can do it.

Last night was interesting. Maybean always sleeps in the back bedroom with the door closed when we have him as he gets into too much stuff if the door is open. We had put a new blanket we bought on our trip on the bed for him as it's like the blanket he has at home and he loved it! Well he started meowing and I felt so bad for him that I went in and laid in the bed and he walked all up and down my body then gave me a nip on my cheek and settled down right next to me and we both went to sleep and I didn't wake up until 6 this morning! Haven't slept that late in forever!
Bridgette chased him when we first brought them all home and she never does that but then Bailey has been very cautious around him and Maybean has pretty much stayed away from them so it'll be interesting how the next 10 days go. With that blanket on the bed Maybean seems to want to just stay there. The top of the blanket is smooth but the underside is like lambs wool and he sucks on that part and kneads it like kittens do to their mother when nursing. He does that with his blanket at home as well and we think it's because he never got weaned before he was either lost or taken away by her as he was found in a tree.
