How long can these stupid trees put out the same pollen? it has been two months and still high. maybe I got Bob's cold. Coughed until almost 2, slept on three pillows finally. Dog was not pleased to be kept awake! So no museum work today. Hair cut is today later. I should manage that. DH is almost back to normal and has gone to the store for more Kleenex!

I love a good eggs Benedict but I only get it when out for brunch and I only go to brunch once a year. It ks a crying shame about Notre Dame. It makes me really sad to see how damaged it is. I felt different when I was inside of it-all that history. Linda, I hope you feel well enough to get your hair cut. Iggy and I have both had coughs with this year”s allergies. The tree pollen is high here as well, at 11.7. I am glad Bob is feeling better. How dare you keep Micki awake! Becky, I am happy to near DN is healing but sorry to hear about DSIL. It must be a tough time for all of them. How are you feeling today? Still hurting? Have you stayed out today or did you go out? Kathy, what have you been up to? Liz, how goes the week? How are the pups doing? Karen, how was the meeting last night? Did you dress warm enough for the meeting room? How are you feeling after all you did yesterday? Recovered? How are the feet holding up? Probably not a good idea yet to go on a hike in rough terrain but as much as you exercise you should be back in shape and into your hiking shoes in no time. It is about 4.5 hours straight down 75 to Knoxville, so with pit stops your estimate of 5 hours is right on target. The sun is out, the trees are blooming, the neighbor is mowing and the AF cargo planes are flying overhead. I went to Walmart and Gordon Food Services this morning for a few things. I went right after rush hour so both stores were pretty quiet. I am making Iggy a meatloaf. He has been vegetarian for two days and the carnivore is getting restless. Can you hear the snarling?

Chele, I'm very sad about Notre Dame and I'm anxious to see what they decide on the rebuilding. It's such an icon that I can't imagine it with a more contemporary design. But I guess we'll have to see what the Parisians decide. Major shame that the parishioners will have to worship elsewhere for Easter Week services and probably not just this year. I'm happy that so many treasurers had been removed already due to the renovations, but that some things were still lost. We went to both ND and Sacre Coeur on the Paris trip. I wondered what that growling sound was that I heard. Arya swears it wasn't her. I hope the carnivore enjoys his meatloaf. The meeting went well. We had a guest speaker from the Gatlinburg FD talking about how to minimize wildfire damage to our homes. I didn't realize that this area is the most prone to wildfires in the eastern US with the exception of FL. Ah, to live near a military installation. When I taught in Austin, our campus was on the flight path for the F-4s and it was not unusual to have to stop the lecture until the flyover was far enough away that our brains were no longer rattling. I wore a pair of Asics to AF this morning and did OK for the most part, but both feet got numb about 20 minutes into a 30 minute bike session, so I must still have a bit of swelling that isn't apparent. So I am not ready to try the feet out on a trail yet. I hope you're right about my exercise level making it possible for a quicker return. Pollen is really bad here and my eyes seem to be the worst of it, but I also have a sniffle and a slight headache. The headache and the eyes are very unusual for me during allergy season.
Good news on your niece, Becky, but potentially not good news on SIL. I would guess if she was in the hospital, her cardiologist visited her there. If not, that's pretty pathetic. Anyway, how old is she? CHF is a strange thing and some people can live with it for years and others don't fare so well. Is/was she a smoker? Good for you for listening to your body and taking a day off from biking and wailking. How are you feeling today?
Linda, the photo you posted is my favorite from what I've seen of Notre Dame in its current state. I love the way the cross still shines. The trees and other plants are making more pollen than usual and we are experiencing the same thing. Arya seems to sleep through anything with the exception of high winds that freak her out. Sorry Micki couldn't. Don't blame you for not going to work today. Hope you felt good enough to make the hair cut appointment and I hope you didn't catch Bob's cold and it's just really nasty allergies that will fade when the pollen decreases--when ever that is.
I worked out this morning then had to stop by the master gardener office to pick up some things I forgot last night. I have no plans beyond transcribing the minutes from last night. Maybe I'm worn out from all the activity yesterday or allergies or a combination, but I have no energy this afternoon. I feel like a nap but I don't know if I have enough time to do that before it's Arya's dinner time. Might do it ayway and just feed her a little late.
Waving to Liz.

Chele, it's awful about Notre Dame. I haven't been lucky enough to see it in person. It does sound like they were able to save quite a bit of it, so that's encouraging. I wish we were that close to Knoxville! It's about 6 hours to the state line and another 6 or 7 at least to get to the mountains. We have some direct flights from here though and they are a little over an hour. I can hear the carnivore snarling from here. 🍗🥩 DS took the day off yesterday, so I spent some time with her and we had dinner at DM's. Nice to be able to do that on a work night. Karen, my guess is that they'll keep as close to the original as possible when they rebuild Notre Dame. Hopefully, they'll add in some safety features to help prevent it from happening again. I saw York Cathedral in England and didn't realize at the time that it had come back from more than one fire. I didn't know FL was the most prone to wildfires in the east, but I would guess a lot of that is due to us having so many lightning strikes. I agree with Chele that you'll be ready for the trails before too long. They can be twisty, so better to make sure the feets are completely healed. Hope you can have a nice nap. Linda, hope you don't have Bob's cold and it's just allergies. I don't know what's up with the pollen this year, but it's really bad here too. Becky, that's good news on your DN, but sorry to hear about your SIL. Liz, hope the forces of evil left you alone today.

Karen Thanks for the start.Even if I worked I couldn't see myself wearing PJ's to work.
Linda I hope you don't have Bob's cold.Feel better soon.
Chele The news coverage has been so sad.We just went to Beall's this morning.I had hoped to find some sandals but no luck but I have gotten in 1 longer walk and 3 short ones this afternoon. My legs are tired. It was supposed to be cloudy all day but the sun came out anyway plus the wind.I'm glad the stores weren't busy.Poor Iggy...the carnivore gets such a bad rap.LOL.I'm glad you had a beautiful day.
Karen I am not sure if my SIL even knew about her heart problems before they admitted her Friday night. They had to take the pain pump off my niece for awhile today b/c of low BP and were to resume it after her BP leveled out.I haven't heard anything from SIL since this morning so hopefully everything is going as expected. She is always in a lot of pain after her surgeries. She is older than me but I don't know by how much. She has never smoked as far as I know but then my other SIL has never smoked and she had lung cancer so go figure.I took a day off yesterday from the bike but not from walking. If I do a lot of walking I don't do the bike now because it isn't in the best shape.I really need to find a new one but I haven't found one with good enough reviews yet.I hope you get your energy back.
Thanks Kathy.I hope you enjoyed your day.
Hi Liz.

Kathy, a friend's dad died of lung cancer...nonsmoker! Folks in Utah had aftereffects of nuclear testing.
Wacky weather....norm is high 80s but often 90s.We have had 100s before in April. WELL it is 69 degrees with 24 mph wind and gusts! a line of storms is coming from the west. Micki went out to pee but just stood there staring. i had to push him off the patio
