zWow, Last night was bad. As soon as I am not completely vertical, the drip pools in my throat and I cough. but that irritation makes me keep coughing until I almost throw up. So until three, I kept getting up and getting up water. Hot water sort of melts it. Finally realized I can lie on my side on one pillow. But now I also wheeze in high pitch at night... it woke me up this morning when I thought someone in the neighborhood was using a leaf blower...never heard that sound before. This is after seven days of doubke Keflex . back in 1996 I had this same thing from a sinus infection and lost a week of work. So see doc later today. Hope no more antibiotics.
DH is on day 12 of the cold, not as bad but hangs in there. he goes tomorrow.

High five, Karen.
Linda, wow, you and Bob have got it bad. I will quit complaining now. I hope you both feel better soon.
it is almost time for Iggy to come home. It is warm, 75°. I know that is not warm to some of you, but I am burning up. I have fans going and one window open. I know I will pay for that later. I am not cooking. I made a tuna salad or he can have leftovers. I met my GF for lunch, the one with the back problems, AFIB and GI issues. She has the heart under control, tests done for GI and CAT scan shows two bulging discs. She will have back surgery in June. She was in good spirits though.
Gotta run. High fives all around.

Kathy, I wonder if the controlled burns are being misinterpreted by the media as wildfires due to smoke on highways, and that's what getting reported in the news. Tanger Outlets is definitely commercial and it sounds like you prefer shopping at some of the small businesses instead. Don't blame you for shopping on rainy days. And we have had a lot of them since your last trip. Tomorrow into Saturday will be more of that and will affect all the tourists in town for the holiday weekend. I saw a bunch of out-of-state vehicles today. Funny about running into your DN while you were shopping yesterday. Good that you won't be having a huge holiday meal. We have been hearing a lot about Poke (pronounced "PO-kee) Nachos that are apparently a big thing on the west coast, although it originated in Hawaii, from what I've been hearing. We are going to try to make those for Easter. It probably means no leftovers but that's OK. My last college had both Good Friday and Easter Monday off every year. Nice little 4-day weekend that we always looked forward to.
I'm surprised you didn't find any sandals you liked at Beall's, Becky. Do you have a Kohl's any closer than Austin? What about DSW or Rack Room? I have seen wider sizes at both of them. Sad that Austin has become so crime-ridden. Does it seem to be concentrated in certain areas? We never had much in NW Austin beyond the occasional property crime, but I did get my car vandalized on Riverside Campus once. What kind of special program will your church have on Sunday? Do they have a sunrise service? When we lived in Austin, we always went to the sunrise service, and our church had a perfect place to hold it, as long as it wasn't raining. It's been a while since you went to Taylor for the Wednesday buffet and that's why I keep wondering if you're going back, given that it has been a while.
Linda, you should sleep well tonight with your cough syrup. At least you know for sure what's going on with you now. I hope you're both well enough to go to your brother's on Sunday. Probably best that your diabetic friend ate nothing yesterday. I'm sure others appreciated the fruit. Hope you and Bob can both take it easy for the next couple of days so your bodies can heal.
Does Iggy get tomorrow off, Chele? Dale doesn't but he said a bunch of people must have taken off because he has no conference calls scheduled. We also have warmth (83) but we have a good stiff breeze, so we have the windows open and the ceiling fans on high, making it feel bearable. I will also be paying for that tomorrow after the pollen settles. We don't have the windows open in the bedroom and I hope we can keep the yellow powder at bay there by doing that. I'm glad your GF is in good spirits, given all she is dealing with healthwise.
Liz, I hope you either have a holiday or vacation day tomorrow. Are you taking food to Gary's DM's or just gifts? Any plans for Sunday?
Osteo was OK today. I keep thinking I should be improving my numbers each week but it doesn't seem to be working that way. I was better than last week on some machines and not as good on others. Probably lack of sleep is a factor, as are allergies. We are expecting rain over night and some nasty storms, so I hope that will knock things down a bit. Laundry and de-pollenizing on the agenda for Friday, but not much else.

Karen Thanks for the start.
Linda That does not sound good.I'm glad you went back to the doctor.I hope all that medicine helps. It sounds like you need it.
Chele It is only 73 here. You are burning up?You have been in the cold country too long.I hope the fans help and don't bother allergies.I have the ceiling fan on low because in the house it is 74 and Kenneth is cold natured so I'm trying not to freeze him out.He has been like that since his stroke.I don't blame you for not cooking.I hope you enjoyed lunch with your gf and I hope she can get her back problems solved by surgery.
No storms here last night but lots of wind, thunder and lightning and 3" rain between midnight and 6:00 AM.It was too muddy to walk so I got in a 60 minute house walk and we had errands to run in Bastrop. We came home and emptied trash and litter boxes. We watched the noon news and they said no rain until middle of next week.So of course when I decided to walk although it was windy and I was wearing a cap I got outside and here comes a light shower.I decided to walk anyway so I picked up my umbrella.LOL.Thank goodness I didn't have to use it for long with the wind at 21 MPH at the time. They are now gusting up to 30 MPH and will continue to be windy tomorrow.Oh well I have my 2 walks in for the day.
High fives all around.

Karen We must have cross posted. Not only do I have a wide foot I also have a long foot which makes it doubly hard to find shoes.Beall's in Elgin didn't have many sandals at all.None of those shoe stores are close.Of course a good bit of the crime happens on 6th Street and east Austin but it's just pretty wide spread in Austin now except in North Austin. No sunrise service.Just a regular time service and the choir will do some specials they have been practicing for several weeks. They are really good.We will go back to the buffet. We just haven't had an occasion to go in awhile. Our SS deposits don't come in until Tuesday night so we won't be eating out this weekend for sure.

Karen, high five! The brush fires on the news are actual brush fires. The controlled burns help, but don't eliminate them unfortunately. We enjoy driving through the Glades area. It has lots of smaller shops and some local artists. I've noticed several new things popping up in Gatlinburg lately and hope it's not getting too commercial. They've done a good job of keeping it looking nice unlike Pigeon Forge which reminds me of the tourist strip near Disney World. I'm sure you'll be improving on the Osteo before too long.
Linda, that sounds awful! I hope the meds kick in soon and help you and Bob get over the allergies. At least you should sleep better tonight with the cough syrup.
Chele, you're in that in-between temperature where it's too warm for the heat and too cool to run the AC. Will it cool off much tonight? We're barely getting into the 60s for the lows now, so it feels nice and cool in the mornings before the AC kicks in. And yes, those "cool" temps do include it being at 75. It's all relative. Your GF sure has had a tough time. Hope the back surgery goes well.
Becky, that's really windy weather to walk in! We're supposed to get some storms moving in here tomorrow, but today was nice.
Waving to Liz.

Becky, ever look at DSW shoes online? we have the stores that are the size of football fields, not much in a narrow, but lots in regular and wide.
73 is hot? 91 here, 99 tomorrow. AC is on .

Linda Thanks for the tip.I will look there as well.I was really looking for something for Sunday but this way I can take my time and look for something maybe casual/dressy.I hope you and Bob both feel better soon.I am not even ready for your heat yet.We didn't even make it to 75 today after all the rain last night.I don't blame you for turning on the AC.Anything over 80 and I turn ours on.

cough cough...started the inhaler, the antihistamine, the cough syrup and hope the steroid shot soothes the inflamed sinus, throat and chest. Going to smear on some Vicks and try to sleep.
