Ruth, I'm anxious to find out if the Green Chilies is hot. but I don't use Rotal Tom. in my Taco soup like Marlene either. I do the soup Eileen gave us a recipe using them w/Refried Beans and broth. That is testy.
Going out for breakfast before hubby goes to work. Enjoy this day. Marm~~

We all have much in common but we are all different too. I'll check out the separate green chilies cause DH will eat the mild salsa in Mexican restaurants, but I think some of that is bland:)
Nice sunny morning. I'll be raking today... as I did yesterday:) Can't stick with it too long but every little bit helps. I also transplanted the iris from Linda's site. I had room for it in my iris bed.

Good morning. I don’t know my schedule for doings today yet. I’ve saved time, but I don’t know if others will be gathering for knitting on this busy week.
I’m afraid of the green chilies too, but I like the red pepper, ground and flakes, and I love a little salsa added to my soups, also on chips of course. I have used the diced canned tomatoes with flavorings added. I’m just afraid of the green chilies mentioned because I don’t like the fresh green and red bell peppers in any way, shape or form!
Marlene, I wouldn’t be able to rake very long either. It’s much like sweeping a floor which causes me pain when I do it. I think it is the constant sweeping motion that affects my back, where as vacuuming is a different, pushing, motion and better for me. However I only do one room at a time and then rest a few minutes before continuing. Oh, the joys of getting old and worn!

Yes it would be a boring thing if we all had exactly the same likes and dislikes and the same interests.Marm, I don't use Rotel but I do use other brands that are the same flavor only usually cheaper. I put refried beans in mine too but I haven't made any in awhile so I might make some today since you all reminded me and I need to make something because all my make ahead meals are used up. All of my house is carpeted except the kitchen and bathrooms so a lot of vacuuming but dh does most of that.
And yes, I need to get out and rake up all the spruce cones. My tree produces a lot of those and it's a fire hazard. Before I do that though I have to move all the wood I moved up to the house to use in my wood stove in winter. I only ended up having one fire in it though. Winter is not over here yet even though today is to get to over 70 but I don't expect to be making a fire and if I do I can just pick up some from the pile and walk it back to the house. It's right outside the back door now and is tempting to creatures such as snakes looking for a home and it, too, is a fire hazard in summer especially

Marlene, I might not be a good judge of the green chilis because I like really spicy things but they do label some mild. To me, even the ones not labelled mild do seem very mild.Lately though even the medium salsa seems really spicy to me and it never did before. I still like it though.

Mary, green chilies are nothing like red or green peppers. I bet you've eaten green chilies in salsa and didn't even know it. Green chilies come in mild, medium or hot. I always use the mild.
Neither DH or I like very spicy foods. A little spice goes a long way with both of us. We like just enough spice to taste it. Hate it when it burns your mouth. I always use mild salsa.
Marm, I was surprised to see yesterday afternoon to see that they opened up that intersection again. I wonder for how long until it's closed again.
Just back from our walk. It's a little breezy but nice. Warmer this weekend. Going to be a nice holiday weekend. I had just finished the laundry when DH got home from work so it was perfect timing since he wanted to go right away. He has his routine 6 month checkup with his cardiologist this afternoon so he didn't want to wait on our walk. It was my second walk of the day so I'm ready to just sit awhile now.
Today is a bittersweet day for our DDIL. It's her last day at Target after 29 years. It's terrible how they treat their long time employees. They'd rather lose faithful employees and hire younger people and pay them less. They cut DDIL from FT in the office to hardly any hours and any hours she even got was as a cashier. DDIL finally had it and quit. Fareway snapped her up and made her a manager right away. She is doing some cashiering but is also working in the office. So far she's loving her new job. It's a lot closer to home for her too. It's the same Fareway that DGS has worked at for over six years since he was 14 years old. They're such a good company to work for. They really work around his school activities.

Gareth Target seem to be going then in the same path as walmart and not treating their employees well. They certainly didn't treat your ddil well and I'm glad she got out of there. Yes Fairway will appreciate her if how they treated your dgs is any indication. Well you all shamed me into doing some work . I moved the wood and then pulled some weeds and cleared out some debris from one of my gardens. Now it's resting time. The wood I carried by hand instead of using my wagon so that I would get more exercise so it was a lot of bending and lifting. It felt good to get in some movement even though it was tiring.

My outside work is done for today. DH is still sitting at the fire-ring watching the leaves burn/smolder with the water hose close by. There are occasional gusts of wind so he is prepared. The yard is raked except I will go over where the piles sat & there are some needles left on the ground after DH picked up the piles. I can't rake any amount of leaves very far so I leave small piles to be picked up.
I cut out the dried leaves from the iris & hosta beds. They are looking good & ready for mulch. Maybe after church Sunday I'll pick up a couple bags.
I've been for a walk this afternoon too, 8750 steps. Another 1300 & I'd be over 10,00 . I'll have to think about going again later.
When they put the sewer pipes in last fall they cut a wide swatch of trees down behind our trailer. I've been concerned that campers might think that open area was a convenient short cut to walk through to get to the office, but they would have to walk through out site then too. That's not how we treat other people's campsite & I don't want them walking through ours. Linda & Roger had a section of regular height picket fence that gave them privacy when sitting on their deck. I offered to buy it from them but they gave it to us. They gave us their lawn mower too. We have been sharing it for a couple years. We'll put the fencing at the edge of our site where the trees were cleared for the sewer pipe. When all the vegetation grows I think it will be obvious that is not a path for public use.
Rick was here today cause we still need more dirt to fill in where the sewer line was laid. He was looking at the dead trees on our site & there are about 3 that need to come down. He sounded like he would do it before too long but he always has more on his plate then he knows what to do first, so I won't hold my breath.
Almost time for Jeopardy so will take my front row seat & watch it with DH ....or sleep!

Hello Everyone!
I've missed posting and reading here for quite a while. I'll be here in the morning to get the train going for the first time in what seems like a long time.
This all started when I spilled a small amount of coffee on my computer keyboard. It started skipping letters and just kept getting worse. MJ took it to our local computer repair place and they looked it over and said it needed a few things done. They fixed those and some other things caused problems. They finally said I needed a new keyboard and ordered it. I'm not sure how it happened, but the keyboard was sent to the wrong place and it ended up even further away. They finally got everything straightened out and I got my computer back late yesterday afternoon.
I hope now everything will go well and I'll be able to post again. We'll find out tomorrow morning.
Doris

Doris, I welcome you back! We all missed you, I hope your computer continues to serve you well now. It’s funny how us older folks rely on our electronic gadgets now almost as much as the younger generation does. I’ll look for you tomorrow!
