AOTD: trigger foods that are bad for me? My health is #1 important, especially heart health. For now that seems to keep me out of trouble.
Marlo good to hear from you. So it was gallbladder surgery that keeps you eating healthy? I have wondered and now I can easily see you would want to be careful.
Sandy have you heard from your ladies in Italy? I hope they are having a good time. Carry in for Easter dinner is a good choice for you and Fred.
Jane I’m glad you’re working on a cruise. If this one doesn’t work out, there will be others. They also might open another bus if there’s a demand.
Karen now that I think back, I had a temp because I became dehydrated with the food poisoning.
Gail magnesium and vitamin D are good for bones. I encourage you to watch “Eating”. There is a talk on osteoporosis. Take from it what you want. I asked Don to watch it with me today. It is totally opposite of his way of eating. I have supported his efforts and he needs to see what I am considering. He found it interesting. He was disappoint they didn’t say what to eat as far as recipes etc.
I’m rambling. Sharon

Jane, how wonderful that you will be on a cruise. Which line? I want to start traveling again.
I do take Vitamin D and Calcium, Sharon, but I will watch EATING (thank you). I called my PC and left a message about what the orthopedist said. He said it was one of the worst cases he has ever seen. And he has seen a lot of bones.
Marlo, great to hear from you!
I have been shopping and am worn out. I will read a bit and finish the book I am on. Early to bed tonight. I get weary so easily lately.
Ciao for now, Gail

last night we arrived at the beach. At least we didn't have to drive down in the rain but it was extremely windy. We went to dinner around 5 and were stuck at the restaurant by a horrendous thunderstorm with high winds much like a hurricane. Twice thunder struck while we were in the restaurant and once on our way out to the car that was so loud it sounded like a bomb going off. Very scary! Of course, we got soaked running out to the car. We had invited some friends that were staying in a condo near ours over for coffee and cookies. It stopped raining by then. It is rather chilly today and still a little windy but the sun in shining and it is nice. No swimming today. We got our groceries this morning and went to the Flamingo Flea Market in Bonita Springs this afternoon. We are just chillin today.
Jane, I hope you can get the details worked out. That cruise sounds amazing!

Geri, I must have missed it, but what kind of hand surgery are you having on Tuesday? Glad Hubert is doing so well.
Karen, Sorry to hear that Bill had the stomach flu. Hope he is now feeling better.
KC, I am glad that Bill will be getting out of the hospital today.
Sandy, Enjoy your relaxed dinner tomorrow. This will be our first Easter without company or dinner with family in years. Mike's sister was supposed to come to visit but her flight was cancelled due to the storm and Easter. She may make it later in the week but it is doubtful.
Vicki, Hope your rain has finally stopped and your trip was a safe one. We do not like to drive in the rain either.

QOTD: You don't need to identify it if you know that's not a good thing for you, but how do you handle foods that you really like, that you might call forbidden foods or trigger foods? AOTD: I try not to even bring them into the house, but if I do I have to rely on portion control, even if that means throwing away anything more than a portions worth. Gail, This is a great article on building bone density but since you are so far gone you may need to check with your doctor. I do this sequence with my yoga students regularly. The sequence is also on YouTube. For any of you with osteoporosis or osteopenia, you may want to give it a try. Start out slowly and build up to 30 seconds with each pose. Dr. Loren M. Fishman, a physiatrist at Columbia University specializes in rehabilitative medicine feels yoga might be an effective drug alternative therapy for osteoporosis. If you are interested in reading the article, you will find it at well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/12/21/12-minutes-of-yoga-for-stronger-bones/?_r=0 12 Minutes of Yoga for Bone Health (hold each pose 30 seconds or approximately 15 in and out breaths) 1. Tree - Repeat other side 2. Triangle - Repeat other side 3. Warrior II - Repeat other side 4. Side-angle - Repeat other side 5. Revolved triangle - Repeat other side 6. Locust (belly down) - lift legs and arms (which are along side you palms down) 7. Bridge 8. Reclining hand-to-foot I (leg up) - Repeat other side 9. Reclining hand-to-foot II (leg out to side) - Repeat other side 10. Straight-legged twist - Repeat other side 11. Bent-knee twist - Repeat other side 12. Corpse pose (at least 10 minutes) The daily regimen, once learned, took 12 minutes to complete.

The latest: my ex does not want to live in that apartment DD found because he is not sure they would like him to have women over (!). Also, DS has offered to have him live with them in CA. They have a detached apartment...must have been a garage at one time. That would be perfect. And a relief for DD. He said he MIGHT be interested.

The bus company that I used does not have the ship listed. For those not familiar with ports....the Miami one is huge and it is important to make sure the bus goes to where your ship is docked. So I found one I never heard of before and need to check into it before booking it. The pet sitter has not called me back. I may not get this all set up by Tuesday morn when the cabin will be released if I don’t book it. I would travel very light because part of the time I have to handle luggage and the walker. My formal night dress will be very simple and be a black skirt with a dressy top. So one skirt and 3 tops
I found out my actual cost for being single is $105 extra. I would have paid that for the 3 day, 2 night bus trip. The bus cost seems to be about $135 and that was more than I expected. I see the gratuity is now $14.50 a day. It all adds up. But this is better than the 2 bus trips.
