WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C96D17, 16 points, 4 rollovers, 8 water, 1198 calories
Just beginner's line dancing.
Wednesday is a buffet luncheon at a hotel - caesar salad, chicken francaise, filet of beef strips, ginger-infused salmon, penne in vodka sauce and petite desserts. Yikes!! I'll just isolate it and remain strong the remainder of the day. (From my mouth to God's ears <g>)

23 points 1574 calories 27 APs
Plus a few unsalted, raw cashews.
Birthday dinner was postponed until tonight. Jackson decided to do something with friends last night. That’s just fine, I’m off tonight so it will be more relaxed. He has a job interview at the indoor trampoline park today, and his application has been submitted to the smaller branch if Kent State. He’s just going to take a few classes; he really has no idea what he wants to do.
Lori, Freestyle for the rest of the week—yay!
Nancy, how wonderful that the new aide is a good fit. She sounds more than qualified. I will continue counting points and most likely calories after graduation— it’s only a little over a month away!

Jan - Has Jackson given any thought to community college? I consider them the bargain of the century, especially since you come out with the same degree if you transfer after the 2 years. Around here they are also very good at hand holding, i.e. helping to direct their students to areas that may be of interest. I'm so glad you plan to continue counting calories and points after graduation.

Nancy, it's wonderful that you and Ed are finding such great aides!! Your luncheon sounds delicious - isolation sounds like the Best choice, Enjoy!! Today is Admin Day so we'll have a luncheon in the Dining Hall, they always do a nice job. I think I'll also isolate...rest of the day we will both remain Strong!!!
Jan, I really liked Kent State campus...it's good he's at least taking a couple of classes to keep up with the routine of school work - once you stop, it's hard to go back. Hope he finds something that interest him... Enjoy the birthday celebration!
We'll have our luncheon today and then get out early. Looking forward to it!

Lori - Well I did just OK. Good with the meal - small portions of everything appealing which was most everything. But the deserts turned out to be not so mini. I had a piece of chocolate cake (yummy) and went back for a piece of white cake (also yummy) and then my friend insisted on giving me half of her cheese cake. Anyway, it was a delightful afternoon. I'm guessing you were much more disciplined at your luncheon.

Jackson had his interview, it was given by a couple of teenagers. He’s pretty sure he didn’t get the job; someone he knows was interviewed after him and was hired on the spot. There were several openings and everyone he knows that’s applied there has been hired. He’s pretty disappointed. He has low self-esteem to begin with. My boys have a tendency to claim discrimination in these types of situations. I’d like to think that’s not the case, but sadly I know better. They’re up against challenges that I am not.
Nancy, how was the luncheon? What was the occasion? Kent State Geauga is much like a community college in many regards, including price. It will definitely be a good fit for him, especially since it doesn’t require driving on the highway.
Lori, how nice that they give you a luncheon and time off! We’re all isolating today. A genius solution by Nancy, IMO.

Nancy, somehow I didn’t see your luncheon report when I posted. It sounds similar to how I just polished off a container of honey walnut shrimp. Oh well, I enjoyed it and it sounds like you enjoyed the desserts. Onward we go tomorrow.
