WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

We had a really nice, pretty healthy luncheon. They had a selection of salad plates made up (Shrimp, Beef or Veggie) + soft bread stick and a small parfait dessert - Angel cake/strawberries/whip cream My GF and I then spent the afternoon shopping together. Bought myself a new pair of pants!
I didn't track anything but this was my day yesterday - I had a yogurt around 11:00, luncheon (1 breadstick, salad w/shrimp and a piece of beef + dessert), a chickpea muffin, dinner - cod over cauliflower rice w/lobster bisque soup/sauce(SR soup that froze really well) and a plate full of roasted veggies, apple and a nice size bowl of cereal (bran flakes, fiber one, puffed wheat, 1/2 banana, handful of nuts and unsweetened almond milk, 1/2 quest bar. I feel good about my choices (I know the cereal would be a high point snack but really felt like having it).
Nancy, believe me if they had a choice of dessert I would of had one of each also....You had much more food selection then I did - Great job not letting it lead to other things.... Jan, you also did great with the Birthday celebration!! So proud of All of us!!
I know the Texas trip will be a lot of eating out and a lot more temptations so I'm trying to be really good....lol

C96D18, 21 points and 915 calories + isolated buffet luncheon
Only line dancing for exercise
Lots of picking after the luncheon but every morsel measured, weighed and counted and nothing really insane so not considered a binge.
Jan - Seems we both dodged a bullet yesterday. Let's give ourselves credit
Lori - I love that you chose to have what you really felt like having. Otherwise feeling of deprivation can lead to heaven only knows what. Seems we're really starting to learn this stuff. So what if it took years and years and years <g>.
