I am brand new to this and feeling extremely overwhelmed. There is so much info on the website I have no idea where to start. All I've done so far is figure my point allotment. I don't even know if I'm in the Freestyle program or SmartPoints. Help!

quark12000 , I am so sorry, no clue how I missed this post! Welcome to the boards and first off deep breaths. It is a lot of information just scattered. They honestly haven't done a great job with an online getting started presentation that is easy to find. It is kind of confusing but the simple version is, SmartPoints has been around for a few years now. When they tweak the program they give it a new name (but the SmartPoints are still the same.) So it is in fact the FreeStyle version of SmartPoints, or just FreeStyle since the other is a mouthful. The best advice I can give you is to keep clicking around the website. www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/living The "Living" section is where you will find all of the plan information and a great place to start. www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/your-planThis link will take you to the plan basics.Good luck and WELCOME! If you have any more questions just hit the like button at the top of my post and I will be happy to help you out. Have a great day!

I think I have to quit this. Everything seems smart phone based and I don't have one.

Hey quark12000 before you decide, you actually have a couple of options. You can absolutely do this solely on your computer. And you can even do it by getting the hand held calculator and writing it down on paper if you want. The options are there. We have members here that don't have smartphones and do it just using their computers. If you spend some time on the links I pasted above (just click the blue writing in my above post) it should explain how to use the website. Is there anything in particular I can help you find or walk you through? The "My Day" part of the website is where all of the daily tracking occurs. Just type in what you ate, click on it, use the arrows to adjust how much you had, click on the time of day you ate it and boom you have tracked. 😊 I actually prefer the website, it has a ton of information, and although it is presented very poorly, it really is a great place for recipe ideas and also the "chat with a coach" option at the bottom if you have any questions.

Feeling better. My sister is also on WW and we did a "meal plan" for the week today.

That's great, a weekly meal plan is so helpful! I find I do much better when I have a plan in place, one less thing to think about.

Where do you go to find foods that aren't in their database? For example, Newman's Own Sockarooni pasta sauce is a favorite of mine, but it's not on the website.

At the very top in the blue bar where you enter the food you are tracking.
Look to the very end where it says “create,” click there, you will get a drop down menu that says “food, meal, recipe.”
Click food, enter the information it asks for and it will be entered into your database so you won’t have to enter it again.
If it is something you use a lot click the star at the top right which makes it a “favorite.”
You can do the above to track recipes and also meals that you make a lot of.

quark12000, it'll get easier to use the tracker with practice, and you'll start to have the foods that you eat a lot easier to find and track. I always found that it's best to just take my time to get used to a new eating plan. Do a little bit at a time, and sooner or later you'll get it. I've also found that easing my way into a plan helps make sure that I'm developing good habits that I can maintain.

Started tracking on Sunday and it's going well. I usually drink a lot of soda, but one can is 10 points, so I'm limiting my self to one a day and diet whenever I get a craving otherwise. Coke zero is pretty good. It doesn't taste just like regular Coke like the commercials claim, but it is very good.

Um, I'm a little confused about the site. Where does one go to talk about progress so far, i.e. first week results, that sort of thing?

Come brag away on the general board!
We have a "tales from the scale thread" with weekly weigh ins that runs Sunday - Saturday or you can start your own threads, here, there, wherever.
Hope your first week went well!
