This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

GM Cats! Perhaps Nancy and the early bird crew will be checking in shortly.
I have my meeting this am. After losing something or maintaining every day this week, today was the day the scale decided to go up a pound. I had my usual breakfast smoothie, and will hold off on my coffee until the meeting. I tracked everything and didn't have an ounce of processed carbs. That alone I should have a gold star!
I think what I will do now is get dressed, make the bed and walk the dogs. I'll check in after the meeting. Frieda.

Hi Frieda, and meandering Kitties. Checking in from sunny NY - it might be 3+ days now of beautiful weather - 40's to 50, & plenty of sun. Tons of snow but the sun feels nice.
My throat continues to hurt but so does my packing/ridding determination. More of that today. DM was exhausted yesterday. Overwhelmed with sorting her things, anticipating two new locations. Trying to ease her w rest, movie last night.
Sorry your scale didn't smile today, F. Hope your mtg is to your liking. Are the girls off this week? It's break week here.
I'm trying to push my scale down to do monthly WI on Wed. Have put it off all month which is unlike me but I've been up a few. Can't throw in the towel. Must. Stay. Vigilant. For now ice cold feels better on my throat than hot - that should help me get water down.
Have a great day, Friends.

G'morning CATs~ Frieda - That's what happened to me this week. Darn scale has gone up almost 3# since the first of the year. Gold Star from me on your healthier eating. Shari - I'll take your sunshine. We are having more rain. Mom used to have me gargle with warm salt water when had sore throat. Just checked and found that we've had 9.14 inches of rain this month. Hip wader time! Latest on mom is that she has been admitted to a care facility with physical/occupational therapies 5 days/wk. She can't live by herself so are looking at other options. She hasn't been doing exercises so her strength is not much. Am glad she was at sisters instead of by herself. Latest on my job search, still waiting to hear. My to do list today is to work on spare room. It's past the annoying stage. Hope to check back later. HUGS to all~ martha

checking in with you CATS!
It's a rainy day here in Iowa but at least it's warmer. These temps are unreal. We have a big storm coming later in the week but I'll be in Florida on Thursday. I can't wait to see DH. I travel very light since everything is in the RV.
Martha- it sounds like you have been keeping busy. That's good news. Sometimes those spare room projects go quicker than we think. I always like it when I have company coming because then I tidy the spare rooms.
Shari- I hope you feel better soon. Rest & take it easy.
Frieda- I know what you mean. I have done so well since DH left but I can't seem to budge that scale. I can see in the mirror that I'm getting toner so I'm thankful for that. We need to just keep plugging away. I'm looking forward to walking outside in FL.
Take care ladies!

I HAD to check in with you and share my good news!! I LOST 5.2 pounds this week!! I have to say, I tracked diligently everyday. I did on occasion treat myself twice (pizza and a muffin-although not in the same day) I worked out 5/7 days and I tried to keep to the healthy zone 6/7 days. That's it in a nutshell! I added my stats to a signature which I'll check and see if it is there. My goal weight isn't my real goal weight. I'm just taking it 5% at a time. I can't face the big picture number yet, and need to look at it in small (hopefully manageable) increments.
That's my little ray of sunshine. May it continue, right?

Frieda, that was a BIG smile you got from the scale. I'm glad you were rewarded for the good job you did.
I go to my first meeting and orientation tomorrow. Thursday is signed up and weighed, but couldn't get a meeting. I'm going to read the material tonight and start a knowledgeable plan tomorrow.
DH was at the dentist twice today. First for stopgap and then it got so much worse he went back late in the day. He ended up being referred to a specialist as they couldn't complete the procedure. He said it was worse than what waterboarding would be.
Martha, I hope your Mom does better in her new environment. And sounds like you were cheated with that weight gain. Keep up the smart recipes and walking and you will get it.
I need to do catching up. Dh had to be medicated so I drove and waited a couple hours tonight. Thus the catching up now
