This is a thread we had on the WW 50 Year Olds board, so even though most of us have moved beyond our 50's, I am keeping it here. Some prefer to post on Facebook, but for those who may also like to post on something that resembles our old format, I decided to start this. Although we were brought together by our love of books, and we love to share our ideas about books and authors, our friendship has grown, and we know a lot about each others lives. We are spread across the country, and that adds a bit of interest as well, learning about other people's way of life through the "book" they write on the thread.

Pinky, so you have a real cowboy. Not surprised that they don't use horses any more. Seems kind of silly when there is so much technology out there, and a lot easier to get off an ATV I am sure, and you don't have to worry about letting them eat or drink.
The Jets started out great last night, then went really down hill from there. I did get some reading done during the down time of the game. Our dinner was delivered in less time than I expected, and it was a great thing to do for a night like that.
Karen, I didn't notice your tree, guess I was reading not looking, but it looks beautiful. I love to drive around and look at the lights, and sometimes people have their trees in their front window, so I get to see them. My friend that we spend New Years with has a tree, so I get to see theirs.
Some of the houses in our neighborhood have the most beautiful lights. Not the over done type, but just so classic. Each year I think they come up with new things, and some are so beautiful. My latest favorite are things that are like wrapped gift boxes, and angels blowing horns that look like the decorations leading up to the tree in Rockefeller Center, which is one of my favorite sights in the city if I manage to get there over the holidays.

Well, early this morning I awoke to a rain storm - now the temps are dropping and will be in the teens by nightfall. We certainly will have a white Christmas that's for sure. It's also a balmy 50 degrees, they just announced at MetLife stadium, for the Giants game. Hope the team shows up! haha
Robin, we have a 5 yr. old golden retriever. He's a big teddy bear. Karen, what a nice tree! How long do you keep it up!
Here's my trivia question: what are the most number of books started at once? For me it's two.
PS: the Giants showed up! They just scored! haha

Anngie, I think it's probably no more than the 3 I have going right now. It's common for me to have 2, probably more common than only having 1. Also, I don't use audio books, so it's not like I would have another one on in the car.
This afternoon I went with my son's fiance, her mother and grandmother to a wedding boutique near my house. Although she tried on dresses again there, she loves one she had tried on last time that I didn't see, but they are going to get it for her from the place near me. I will meet them for fittings, and will be able to bring my mother to see it.
