WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C97D8, 13 points and 823 calories + isolated dinner, 8 water
No exercise. Our friends had to cancel due to her extreme vertigo. But the kids came and so did our weekend aide who's become a friend. It was a lovely afternoon and evening. So good to see Gracie who's been away at college. Leila (16) drove down and took me for a little drive as well. So cute. Dinner was delicious. I did reasonably well though I was a bit generous with my desserts. The rest of the day was under control. Leila and I brought all leftover desserts to the clubhouse right after dinner so that I could dodge a potential bullet. DH and I have been watching the six part series Les Miserables. Anyone else?

28 points 1602 calories 37 APs (8 mile run and 16 mile bike ride)
I hemmed and hawed about my bike ride yesterday. It was chilly and overcast until noon or 1:00. I’m so glad I went; the sun came out and it warmed up.
Everything can finally go back into our attic tonight. I can’t wait. DH installed vents and put new flooring down, and our friend came and sprayed the mold last night. I’ve been wanting to go through everything in storage for years now. So glad it’s done.
Kathy, do you have healthy food prepped for the week? That makes all the difference for me. How far away is the hospital? Tomorrow will be a long day for you. You continue to impress me; you weigh in weekly whether you’ve followed your plan or not.
Nancy, it sounds like you had a nice afternoon/evening. Gracie’s home for the summer, yes? My Jackson will finally take his road test on Friday. He’s 18. He has had some anxiety and was in the first accident with Nick. He’s a very cautious, nervous driver. I caught him doing 20 mph down a hill in a 35 yesterday. I explained that could be dangerous; he said there was no one behind him and he was being careful.

So yesterday could have been a disaster...I was talking and not paying attention and missed a curb. By some miracle, I didn’t fall but I did twist/sprain my ankle. So mad at myself. I did the RICE treatment and took Advil every 4 hours. Today I’m disappointed I have to skip my morning walk (we found a great walking trail yesterday) but picking up DD today and want to be able to walk later. Good news, visit with DS and eating is going well !!
Nancy, such a nice time with family. Treasure the moments...yesterday, DS took me for a drive in his BMW (he’s so proud of his car). Good job with bringing the leftovers to clubhouse. Jan, Glad the attic cleanup is almost complete...Once Jackson gets his confidence with driving, he’ll be fine. So far, the weather has been beautiful here. Glad you enjoyed the bike ride. I had a hotdog bar at my DS graduation party, kids dropping by at all different times. It worked out great and they all seemed to enjoy it. Kathy, nice to see your post. Wishing speedy recovery for DH. Having healthy choices available is so helpful...
Off to the airport...

Jan - Not quite. She goes back to school Thursday for a week of tryouts. Then they all go to Seattle for a Minefaire Event, then home, then either counselor at a cheer camp or Hawaii with the family or maybe a combination of the two. She'll probably stay with us for a bit along the way. It's great that you got your bike ride accomplished and that the new and improved attic space is well under way.
Lori - So sorry about the ankle. I know how much you enjoy walking when on vacation. Are you already on your way home? Seems you just got there <g>.
