Brunch was healthy: ful, bread, baked flat bread topped with zaatar or kishk, fruits and vegetables with coffee.
Talked to granddaughters before they headed off to swim meet.
Today have book reviews to write and a blog tour to participate in. Then on to read more books.
CHERRY: What are you having for your protein while doing vegetarian eating? Beans? Tofu? Seitan? Nuts and seeds? I bought some beets yesterday and want to spiralize them then either eat raw or roast a bit in the oven...have no idea how that will work out
BEVERLY: I had not seen anything about the Kentucky Derby...just looked and it said one won but then lost on a technicality? Tell me more! How was the movie?
LYNN: How exciting to have a new camera! Make sure you have enough memory to take a LOT of photos and have a way to download them onto your computer or a thumb drive so you always have room for more photos Bet you are getting excited!

Morning friends,
We didn't get to go to the movie yesterday because there were terrible thunderstorms in the afternoon. It was as dark as night in the middle of the afternoon!! Noone was hurt that I know of, just a few tree limbs down. We are getting ready to go out for the day, we are heading down toward the Everglades. I will let you know what we get into.
As far as the Ky Derby goes, they had declared a winner (the favorite) & then it was challenged by the 2nd place horse, saying that he was bumped during the final approach. Sure enough, after a long period of reviewing, they disqualified the winner & gave the title the 2nd place horse who was a 64 to 1 odds.

Good morning. I use beans for protein mostly, and other legumes including lentils and peas. Also peanuts. And there is some protein in lots of other vegetables. I don't care for tofu and have not tried seitan. Soy has protein too, like edamame. I do eat other nuts too, love them. I also plan to eat some poultry or fish/seafood about twice a week, although in smaller amounts. So far it has been going well, and I've definitely not felt hungry.
My son got here last evening, although late because he had something going until about 7 pm. We visited a bit and watched a couple of TV shows. Today I have a few things for him to do or help me with. I have a couple of new raised garden beds that need to be put together, and I'll have him stir my compost.

A great day today. We had a wonderful anniversary celebration and the relaxing day yesterday. Today I got in a workout and then went with dd to her appt and then ran a few errands. Ready to go to salon tomorrow and press reset button. I can do this.
