diva49, fullmahina, jamescat1, I once served two weeks in San Francisco during the years where you had to report every day for the two weeks and sit in the jury lounge until/unless called for a trial; and if you got seated and the trial went beyond two weeks you were hooked for the duration. I eventually decided I could not serve; my doctor wanted $75 to write a letter and I said ‘no thanks.’ I wrote my own letter, cited my medical conditions, and invited the court to pay the doctor $75 to verify it. They excused me. I kept the word processing file and whenever I’ve gotten a summons I change the date and sends the letter. It has worked like a charm for me for at least 15 years.

Day is done. So am I.
Final demolition took place today. Photo web has been updated.
So how did I celebrate? By walking from the family room into the garage and forgetting THERE IS NO LONGER A RAMP THERE. I went down. Good news: Apple Watch detected the fall and offered to summon help. Better news: I didn’t need help…just Polysporin and bandages. Note to self: put up a sign in the family room that says “STEP DOWN!"
Since I went to the cemetery to day for Mother’s Day, I missed most of the noise. The electrical work in the circiut breaker panel was also finished, so I missed most of the power outage.
Now I shall try to relax.

zazzles , wow Mike that's really scary! So glad you weren't seriously hurt. I would need a sign to remind me too. Thanks for sharing all the photos of your progress. It's so much fun. hpeterson1951, we'll have to meet for lunch sometime Heather - are you out near Harrisburg or York? I seem to remember somewhere Central.

DebDoesWW , okay, girl, do NOT listen to the weather spots on the local news. I'm ready to get in my Ark and head north....to Nebraska! Really, they sound like we're going to have massive rain amounts, flooding and all sorts of mayhem. Really? I finally noticed that the rain system that is causing this is coming from California. Ok, zazzles , and jamescat1 , please keep your storms to yourself. We don't need this and I know Deb and her parents are not thrilled either. Take care!

linda72 Y'all would laugh at what we call storms. They are truly a drop in the bucket compared to yours. DH grew up in Corrigan north of Houston so he knew storms. He also knew them going to school in Idaho. I, on the other hand, have lived a charmed life

linda72 Did you actually get rain today?Deb thinks you are paying someone off so you don't get rain.LOL. I heard it was coming from the Pacific also and yes they need the rain more than us so they can keep it. They opened 1 flood gate at Buchanan and 1 flood gate at Mansfield Dam since Lake Travis is already 4' above flood stage. I guess we are the winners today. No rain so far. When I walked at 8 AM it was like a steambath.By time I got home I was wringing wet.Now it's supposed to get down to 57 by morning and a high of 64 so go figure. On one of the Austin channels it showed Mother's Day as clear but a smaller chance of rain all the way through next Thursday.Enough already. On the bright side(I guess)no part of TX is in drought status.Does anyone in TX remember what the sun looks like?I seem to have forgotten. zazzles That is scary.I'm glad it isn't worse than it was.Be careful.

One of the weather guessers in Austin is getting a little optimistic on Central Texas rain totals through Saturday night. DebDoesWW Would you like me to send him to work for the Houston weather for awhile?

borntexan, okay, (in a whispering voice), don't tell Deb but we did not have any rain today either. In fact, the sun was out most of the morning and started clouding up this afternoon. We've had a total of less than 2" over the past week but it looks like we're due to get a lot more soon. I heard a weather guesser discuss the topography of SE Texas recently that explains a lot. Most of the major rivers of Texas drain southward to the Gulf. Many of those rivers have had a lot of rain dumped on them this spring and they are flowing south. Then, when you get 8-10" of rain from above drop on these areas, it causes flooding. One of the flood plans to handle the water is to use the streets in a neighborhood to channel the water and they are urging people to get their cars off the streets. And, then of course, you have developers building homes in areas that were never supposed to be built on. I'm glad they lowered Buchanan dam and Mansfield but all that released water will be coming downstream to us!

DebDoesWW, fullmahina, borntexan, Welllllll. I am stoopid stoopid stoopid…I should’ve put up a big sign right away. Instead I went into the garage again and fell a second time! Nothing broken; the ankle feels a bit of a sprain. And every part of my body hurts! What are the odds I’ll do this a 3rd time? You might want to place a bet—against me!

2" in a week linda72!?! I think we just got that in the last hour! 🙄 Emergency alerts keep going off for flooding. Sorry to laugh zazzles but I'll take those odds! Seriously put some of that crime scene tape up or something so you don't do it again. Or can you make some temporary kind of step? Please be careful, we are all too far away to bring you soups and stuff.
