WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

1757 calories 30 points 24+ APs
Another high point day, but calories were a bit lower.
We had a meeting for pre-season summer soccer last night with our new coach. This will be a much different year for sure! Hopefully still a winning year. Glad Alex has decided to play; he said he wasn’t after wrestling ended. He tends to get burned out by the end of his winter sport.
I got a few flowers planted yesterday. I do mostly geraniums because by July I’m negligent with watering. I did do a small pot of lantana. I love them!
Kathy, keep trying. Eventually it will click and you’ll have a nice string of OP days.
Lori, oh this weather! You are really rocking the vacation eating! Being super vigilant by counting calories after seems to be key for you. Thank you for the inspiration! Looking forward to being done with the monthly nonsense, though it will make me a bit sad to close a chapter of my life. Mainly youth, lol.
Nancy, so glad things are back to normal with your aides. I don’t think I could just have one mini cupcake. That’s a train wreck waiting to happen for me.

Today was crazy busy at work. Still trying to catch up from vacation plus Graduation is next week.
Nancy, yes that was a home WI - I was curious to see where I was at.... Glad to hear the aides situation is back to the way you like it. Great job isolating the cupcake. I took a mini scone from work today. I’ll have that for my snack tonight - looking forward to it! Jan, glad to hear your soccer season looks promising! My 26 yr old DN plays on an adult baseball team - DH went to his game last night and I had a few hours to myself. I think I’m going to enjoy baseball season...lol. I also tend to neglect my summer flowers, my goto are mandevilla’s - they are very forgiven and tolerate full sun. Enjoy the weather!! Can’t wait to get back to walking.... Kathy, Wonderful that you are checking in...2 mile walk is wonderful...one meal at a time...it will click...

Jan - Great news about the new coach. Do you plan your food day in advance? I find it so much easier to stay on track when I do. I usually figure out points and calories based on what I think I'd like to have and then make adjustments to end up where I want to be. I know that's not for everyone, but it tends to work for me.
Kathy - What kind of candy bar? I'm so glad you're checking in. Love the good news vs bad news, ie 2 mile walk to offset iffy breakfast. Anxious to hear how the rest of the day went.
Lori - I still WI every morning. Tomorrow will be the real McCoy at "workshop". Not sure what to expect after two weeks of one lb losses. I am noticing a little looseness around the waist - may even need to have darts on some of my pants.
