This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends & Happy Saturday!
I didn't feel well yesterday afternoon/evening. Not sure what was up, I was just super tired, a little shaky and got a little light headed a couple of times. I checked blood sugar and all was just fine there, so I'm not sure what it was. But thankfully I'm feeling terrific this morning and looking forward to the weekend.
DH and I are going to enjoy relaxing coffee time this morning, then head out to the dam to walk and do a little rock hunting. Get the grocery run out of the way and then probably come back home to do some work in the flower beds, maybe some weed eating/edging, relax etc. I put in an Amazon order for a pair of zero gravity chairs for the patio. They're supposed to deliver Wednesday, and I can't wait to get them. I'm picturing relaxing in the sun and probably so occasional nap time. I'm going to have to stock up on sunscreen. Ha!
Susie - you asked how many rocks I'd put out - so far just 3, but hope to get more out this weekend. Yes, I was able to confirm that one was picked up, so far I've not seen any posted to the area website as "found", but I'm thinking there is not a lot of this particular activity out here in my area, but hopefully it will catch on. When I am out and about, I keep forgetting to take some with me. Guess that means I'm still quite the rookie. Ha!
Well, I hope everybody has a wonderful day! I'll check back later today.

Good morning Lora and Susie and ATF. Lora, glad you're feeling better this morning and sounds like a lovely day planned. Susie, enjoy that morning coffee!
I had a nice birthday dinner last night with DN, ate way too much and of course the scale is up this morning. DD called me yesterday so upset about not being able to take off her pregnancy weight. I really felt for her, so sorry she has to deal with this, but I told her to buy some inexpensive clothes that fit and when her life settles down to a more manageable level, she can seriously address the weight. She's got a lot going on, most of them financial (or could be fixed if she had the money to fix them) and trying to cut back on food, feeling deprived, is just not working for her right now. I get it, I really do. It's so incredibly hard for me to see DD struggle financially as I did at her stage of life - I feel like she's repeating so many of my hardships and I can't help her the way I would want to. I know she'll figure it out but so hard to see our kids in pain and not be able to rescue them. I did send her some money to buy some clothes that fit and I know that will help her mood.
There's a new movie out about Nureyev that DN and I may go see this evening, looks interesting. I also need to get to Kohl's to pick up a baby present for a DF's granddaughter, plus presents for the CO DGKs since I'm going out there in early June. A couple of other errands but NO supermarket for me today. Yay!
Sunny and warm here, upper 70's tomorrow and low 80's on Monday before we go back into the 60's later in the week. This seems more like spring and it's just beautiful everywhere around here now.
Have a great day all and I'll bbl.

Hi Everyone, Sorry I have not posted although I did get a chance to catch up last night. I have been busy doing work stuff in the evenings trying to get ready for conferences. Two times this week we had staff meetings which our director always says this will just be a few minutes and always takes way longer. By the time it is done I barely have time to do anything before leaving. Last night I had that online webinar so that was even a longer day. Luckily, since there were only 3 of us and the trainer we were finished an hour earlier. Then I still had a half hour drive home from my friend's place. Today I planned to take it easier but that isnt going to happen. Tommorow my sisters and I may be going to my cousin to visit after his surgery and brunch before but it is not definite yet but it means that I need to do the food shopping today so I wouldnt have to do it after tommorow. I also need to get to the library this morning too. I am getting my haircut too and I lucked out. The lady who usually cuts my hair was actually available. The last time I had to get a different person to cut it. I didnt like the way she cut as much. Andi, sorry that your daughter is having difficulty with her weight and finances. Lora, have fun on your walk and rock hobby. Susie, I hope you enjoyed the card game. Jana, glad you enjoyed outside time but sorry you hurt your toe. Ouch!! Thats about it for now. Have a great day!

The coffee this morning was great...nice to visit with the neighbors many of which showed up. Then I had to pick up DGD and drop her off at her dance studio since her DPs were busy. Really, really trying to get my book club book finished today. DH said, "Wow.. I don't think you have ever finished a book in a week" ....lol! Remember, I am the one who CAN put anything down, even when I really like it! Even now, I have to keep getting up and walking around so I don't fall asleep!
Lora - glad you are feeling better today. I bet you can't wait til those patio chairs arrive.
Andi - sorry DD is struggling, not only with weight issues (just like we have all done for years...ugh), but also with financial issues. I think you gave her good advice. I think sometimes, we just need someone or somewhere to vent...glad she can talk to you...too bad she doesn't have a group like this.
Janet - sorry about the staff meetings but yippee on your hair stylist being available.

Susie, I think we're incredibly lucky to have a group like this! Not many people do - where we can talk about EVERYTHING as well as food issues. The morning coffee with neighbors sounds so fun - I hope I can find such a warm and welcoming place when I'm ready to move again. I so miss having a community of like-minded people. What book are you reading for your book club? I don't remember. I'm finally reading the latest Donna Leon mystery and am loving it, as always. But I seem to have no trouble putting it down either and I have a long list of books waiting for me that I never seem to get to. And thanks for your comforting words about DD. Lora, I'm looking forward to those zero gravity chairs too - I know you will love them on your beautiful patio. You may need to buy an umbrella or something to give you additional shade out there - your sun was fierce in April! Also, please ask DH how my hammock is coming along . Janet, sounds like you're having a busy day. Hope tomorrow is more relaxing. Glad you posted and are checking in with us. I haven't asked you - did you find a new doctor and are things now under control with your diabetes (or was it pre-diabetes?). You haven't mentioned health issues in awhile which I'm assuming is a good thing. Well, I did end up at the supermarket today for a couple of things and now I notice they have 3 cases of Poland Springs water on sale starting tomorrow for $8, so it looks like I'll be back there again. Ha. I unfortunately missed UPS - they closed at 3 today. Who knew. Have a good evening all.

Hi all! Andi, my DD came by today and is also having a struggle with her weight... For the first time, really, but she has finally gotten a great job so her money worries aren't as bad. I also helped her with the little I could, when she went back to school for this job - it is an architechtural job, and she just turned in her design for the front of a new guest/poolhouse for the vice presidential property in D.C. She is really proud of being a part of that. Its hard to watch them struggle. I hope your DD will not be hard on herself for the baby weight.. New clothes will be a mood lifter! Susie, I have several books that I hope to get to in the near future. How often do you start a new one? Lora, those chairs look awesome! Sounds like you're getting so much done there. I love having outdoor space to enjoy. I picked up a couple of new plants today, to add to some of my beds. If I am not up all night at work, I want to get some flowerbed work done tomorrow. Glad you feel better after that "spell". I hate that feeling. I have been having bad stomach problems this week. I am afraid to eat much, and nothing is going down well. I am going to see about getting an endoscopy soon, and see what's going on. Well, I know I'm not up to speed on the personals yet! I have trouble getting on here sometimes. I will be back tomorrow... I am going to go get ready to head to the station. I have to be there by 8p. Wish me luck, for a good night's sleep! RobinMD

Hi. I got a lot of done and I am tired so just planning on chilaxing and reading my book. Andi, my levels have been in the prediabetic level so I am not on medication. I try not to drink soda and mostly make my own ice tea with stevia. Not much of a water drinker. I havent looked for a new doctor but I already know where I will plan to go once she retires from this practice. Not sure when that will be but she is already may be 64 or 65 so I cant imagine that much longer. Her husband is a radiologist and makes good money and he is or was a director. The practice I would try is part of the health system that my opthamalogist/nuurologist is from and I am very satisfied with the communication between a patient and the staff on the portal. I hope that would be the same if they are a part of that same system. I want to get to the gym in the morning before going to see my cousin. Those plans arent definite yet but should know soon. Have a great night!

Andi - my current book club book is "WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING" by Delia Owens ...totally broke down crying with 20 pages to go and had to go clean up my face for church. I came home and finished the book. The next book for this club is "THE SILENT PATIENT." Tomorrow I will go back to finishing "THE GLASS OCEAN" which I stopped so I could concentrate on Crawdads. "A WELL BEHAVED WOMAN" is my other bc book for this month, but I will not get to that meeting because it is this coming Monday also, so I can read it whenever. It is about the newly wealthy, but socially shunned Vanderbilts. I loved Crawdads...it was sad and pulled at my heartstrings. One thing good about book clubs is that you read things you may not ordinarily read (or even know about).
Lora - my 5yr old DGS was given some shells to paint by a lady at church (he had painted some with some older kids at church on Wednesday) and I mentioned that a friend in Alabama was painting and hiding painted rocks....little did I know, they do it in VA too...you just have to paint "RVA rocks" on the bottom.... that is so cool... I may have to start painting in all my free time - ha ha
RobinMD - each book club ( I am in 2) reads one book a month - I cannot keep up UNLESS I get one bc to read the book the other one is reading - ha. How exciting about your DD's architecture job. Sure hope you get the stomach settled down...at least an endoscopy is not as bad as a colonoscopy. Best is if you can do them both at the same time.
Janet - I try to get more and more into the same system of Drs too...so much easier...not there yet though so I am in several different portal systems...at least I can get info on line that way.
OK ...off to get on my jammies and watch TV
