This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends.
Ugh! I've been awake since 3, finally gave in and got up at 4. However I did go to bed kind of early last night. I was totally wore out after that hike, it was probably one of the most physically challenging that we've done. I suspect we'll do it again at some point though, it was really pretty.
I thought we'd just have a lazy day and stay in once we got home, but not quite. DH added a third monitor in his home office, so I helped him get that set up and get his laptop setting correct. Then found out that the wireless mouse had stopped working. I tried changing out he batteries, but it wasn't that. The keyboard quit working a while back, so it was just time to replace them. So we ran to Guntersville to get a replacement set at Staples (I left a couple of rocks while I was there). Then a pop into WM for the coffee I forgot earlier and a new toothbrush for DH (that he also forgot). Ha! When we finally got back home I had to do DHs work clothes up for the week, as well as IP some chicken thighs so I could make some chicken salad for his lunches this week. Then cleaned up all the dishes from that, got the laundry folded, hung and put away and then I was ready for bed. Pretty exciting, huh?
Not much planned for today outside of doing up a little more laundry. Mowing day will be coming up again soon, but not today.
Robin - I almost always use the computer instead of the phone, so I don't think I have anything helpful to offer. Sorry. I think Janet mostly uses her phone, maybe she might have something helpful to offer. I remember how much you love having your pool open and available. I bet it is wonderful for a quick dip to cool off after some hat and hard outside work.
Jana - I'm sorry that neither house worked out, but don't lose heart. Just be patient and keep looking. The right thing will come along when the time is right, and it will be the one that's meant to be.
Any special plans for the upcoming long weekend? DH is WFH on TH, then is taking off Friday, so a 4 day long weekend, without a drive home on TH. That's what I used to call a "extending the weekend" when I worked.
I hope everybody has a great Monday. I'll check back later.

Good morning, I never made it back last night...some really bad storms rolled through, and I ended up going to bed a little early. I guess I wore myself out! I weighed this morning, and I'm down 5 lbs!
I will be back later...

Hey everyone -
RobinMD - way to go!!!
I hope everyone had a good weekend. I looked at the posts. I got some news on Friday that really bummed me out. Went to have some drinks Friday night (more than I've had in quite a while) and had some really good laughs. Then I looked at the schedule and realized that my nephew had a baseball game right down the road from me at 10 am on Saturday. So I didn't end up going to WW because I was tired (and slightly hung over and worried about WI being a little off) and it also would be a quick turn around in driving out to WW.
It was a good idea to do it that way I think. It was a hot day to sit and watch baseball - so if i'd been running around beforehand I probably would've been more worn out.
On Sunday, I don't know what I did - some laundry, some cleaning/housework... it's hard to know where the day went. I did swing by Aldi for a couple of things. They have brownie batter dessert hummus that I picked up to try (need to figure out the points). It's made with chickpeas so I was worried about the taste at first but it's surprisingly good. It really has that hummus texture. I have some strawberries at home so I might have that later on tonight.
Anyway - I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Good afternoon, ROs. Had training this morning and then an early meeting so no time to post here. And of course I didn't get a really good night's sleep last night, needed more hours. It's super hot here (I think we got your heat, Jana) and I had to turn the a/c on. I'll need it again tonight although tomorrow will only be in the 60's so hopefully I will be able to open windows again.
Lora, your hike looked amazing. I hate trails where I have to retrace my steps - one of the reasons I don't like walking on the rail trail here. Loops are so much more fun. Although I don't mind climbing a mountain, knowing I'll be going down the whole way back, hahaha. someone posted on your FB page about being careful about rattlesnakes. That definitely would have freaked me out. I don't mind bugs so much (except for mosquitoes), but the poisonous ones scare me. Your day sounded as busy as Susie's!!!
Amanda, sorry about the bad news. Am assuming it's job related? Btw, I've had the chocolate hummus - made by Boar's Head here, I think. Addictive. I can eat the entire container with a spoon so I don't keep it in the house.
RobinMD - WTG with the weight loss! What food plan are you following these days?
Jana, sorry about the houses but it is at least encouraging that there are so many good ones out there and just the kind you're looking for. The right one will come along.
I don't have any special plans for the long weekend. A lot depends on the weather. Hope to see DSon and the grands again but they always have a full social calendar so we'll see. I had so much fun there yesterday afternoon and evening. Those kids are precious.
I'll check back later. Have a great day all.

Yes all - bad news was related to my search. Just bummed out.
Andi - i like the chocolate hummus but the texture is a tiny bit off for me - for that reason I don't think I'd eat the whole container in one sitting.

Andi - Yay for open window weather! There are 6 different varieties of poisonous snakes in Alabama and all of them are found in my area. We choose to spend a good bit of free time in their environment, so it's a known risk we take. We encountered some occasionally when we were at Stone Mountain. And growing up in the deserts of West Texas taught me a lot about snakes, their habits and their habitats. We were almost completely in the shade on our hike, they hate the cool shade and will almost always choose a warm & sunny spot. Plus, they don't want to be near us any more than we want to be near them. We stay aware, don't wander into high grass or wood pile areas - which is where they are most likely to be hiding. Also, with rattlers, they will almost always give you plenty of warning. So these kinds of hikes are great for keeping all of your senses sharply tuned. Lol. Honestly, I worry more about ticks, spiders and stinging things than I do the snakes. I've found they'd generally much rather slither away from humans that to stand and fight. (also...the person that made the snake comment on my post is something of an alarmist and a bit of a know-it-all...Lol).

Hello Hello ROs... I bet you thought I could not get any busier...well I can - ha! I was up and off to the gym, then stopped by DD's, and since then I have been cooking for book club tonight... been standing for hours....taking a break and then I have to run over to watch DGD for an hour and then rush back to put my dish in the oven. I feel like Robin (NY) getting ready for one of her big holiday dinners -ha - thanks goodness I do not have to cook for weeks..lol Lora - kind of laughed at the tree that you went under and DH went over. RobinMD - wow....down 5 lbs - awesome. I occasionally use my phone, but I don't like to - a little confusing...I just go to http://wwmessageboard.freeforums.net...log in, go to ON PLAN, and look for Repeat offenders... I can usually get on easily, and find the ROs easily, but sometimes have trouble finding ALL the posts from that day. Amanda - so sorry...I know you have been struggling with the search...thinking of you Andi - I don't really have any special plans yet either...busy week though... ODD and DSon will be spending some time with their DF (my first DH - he is arriving on Wed I think and I don't know how long he is staying). It will surprise me if my neighborhood does not get together and do something though. I can just not believe how cold my house is....it is hotter than blue blazes outside and sometimes I have to turn on the heat...man this place must be insulated REALLY well...maybe part of it is that it is built on a concrete slab... OK...back to cooking...have to get my dessert finished. I decided to set the dining room table since I really only have seating for 5 (sofa/2 chairs) in the family room so I have to bring other chairs in to sit there...maybe I will do that for dessert. Trying to keep it low key otherwise...

I suppose all of that is reassuring, Lora. Sounds like you really know what to look for and be aware of, and lol about the alarmist on FB.
On an unrelated topic, I have a package of skinless, boneless chicken thighs I need to cook tonight. Can you tell me what you do with them in the IP? I'd like to do the same thing... Thanks!

Good afternoon.
I started to post earlier, got side tracked and now I am starting over.
I was up at 3 a.m. this morning as well. I did not sleep well at all last night. I was finally feeling tired around 5:30 a.m. when it was time for to me to get up. I decided to come into work late. Unfortunately I forgot that the summer intern started today :/ That meant rushing around at home so I could get to work.
My whole day has felt like that.
Lora, I am so scared of snakes. I have always lived in the country and I know they don't want to be around me anymore than I want to be around them but that does not make me less afraid of them. I had an Aunt who stumbled across a copperhead on her carport one night - it was dark, she didn't see it and it bit her. I think she startled the snake too - I know it was just defending itself. She was ok - she got to a hospital pretty quickly. But just the thought of it really creeps me out. I saw your FB pictures and it looked beautiful. I did not see the comment about the snakes.
RobinMD - congrats on the loss!
Amanda sorry about the news. Hang in there and keep your chin up. Glad you got to hang out with friends though.
Andi good job getting to your training this morning. It was super hot here all weekend.
I have a long weekend coming up. I am off Thursday, Friday and Monday. We are having a cookout at our house on Sunday for Memorial Day and for DH's birthday (his birthday isn't until the 31st but we wanted to take advantage of the long weekend). I kind of wish we had planned it for Saturday but didn't know at the time what our house situation was going to look like with DS moving out etc so we wanted to give ourselves plenty of time to make sure we could get the downstairs and the yard straight. We are also looking at another house on Friday.
Dsis goes back to the University tomorrow. I talked to her over the weekend and she said that she was told that the placement of her ostomy is the reason she is having problems staying hydrated. Something about where they placed the ostomy - fluids have a tendency to go through her quickly. When she drinks water - it flushes straight through and it takes all of her electrolytes with it. Apparently it is very common with people who have a ostomy in the same area that she has her ostomy in. I am not sure if you remember - but the first ostomy they gave her started retracting so when they did the 3rd surgery they had to close that space up and create a new ostomy. They didn't have any choice but place it on the other side. The University Dr. told her come tomorrow prepared to be admitted to the hospital. She doesn't know if he is going to go ahead and do the last surgery or if he is keeping her to keep her hydrated so she can heal a little more before the last surgery. Hopefully she will have more answers tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
I hope everyone is having a great day. Waving to anyone I may have missed.

Susie I am a little jealous of your cold house. We are having AC issues and our house has been really warm. You are wonder woman! You always amaze me with how much you do. Here I am dragging myself out of bed LATE to get to work late and rush around all day LOL
If have someone coming to look at our AC on Wednesday. I am sure it will be another one of those really cheap repairs (NOT) I honestly think we probably need a whole new system.

Oh, Jana, I know it's small comfort but the a/c in my car doesn't seem up to snuff to me and I so much don't want to spend any more money on this car! I suppose I should call and get it diagnosed, maybe it just needs a charge or something, but I hate heading down that road...

Andi - I cook up a batch of b/s chicken thighs in the IP with just about a cup of water or chicken broth in the bottom. Mine are the individually frozen ones, so use set it on Manual for 25 minutes and then do a manual pressure release. They're just fall apart tender and I mix them up with a little onion powder, salt, black pepper, mayo and diced dill pickles. If it seems a little dry, I can add a little cooking broth and/or pickle juice. DH eats it all on it's own for lunch. If I have some, I prefer it rolled up in a couple of lettuce leaves. It's just an easy quick and easy process without a lot of mess or clean up that I can make ahead and he loves it enough to almost every day.
Jana - Yikes! A copperhead bite is muy no bueno. I supposed if I'd ever had an experience like that, I'd likely be more hesitant to be out and about in the snakes world. Ahhhh! that does makes sense about DS and the dehydration issues. Good heavens, I hope the trip back to the University hospital will help her.
So over the weekend DH started complaining of a toothache. Honestly I thought it was probably likely sore gums or something. It was way in the back and he's not the best flosser. Also, he told me it was on the bottom and when I looked his gums back there were a little puffy. Anyway, it continued off and on through the weekend, so I encouraged him to start calling around and get an appointment at a dentist. This is kind of new territory for him, as he's never had a cavity in his entire life. So he got an appointment and was seen at noon today. He has an abscess on the root of an UPPER molar. I don't even know how a top tooth hurts on the bottom...whatever. He said the dentist thinks it's a cyst, but he wrote him antibiotic prescription and he will have to get a root canal. Anyway, remember the "small town connections" I talked about with the ophthalmologist? Well, it turns out that DH went all through school (elementary, middle and high school) with his dentists mom and aunts. <eye roll> I have no such connections anywhere in the world. Well, unless I'm in a Kroger store. haha.
