DotRen, yes, very interesting. I'm unsure how I feel about this but a lot of it makes sense. Farming is hard and expensive so to pick cows that will produce better and more efficiently sounds right but I do worry about the "frankenstein" aspect. And, what about the future? So often, science says something is safe but years later we learn that there was some other consequence that was missed or unknown. There is a lot of research being done on genetically modified foods but I'm not sure this is that. Breeding horses is another example of this type of program, where the Kentucky Derby winner becomes the #1 horse to pass on his genes in hopes of breeding another winner. Maybe this is the same type of program. They also do this with pure bred dogs. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting...wasn't sure what to think of all the babies alone in tiny fenced areas with a big doghouse to shelter in...interesting science, though.
