This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you.
We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends,
Cripes it's early! And in case you haven't had reason to know, there isn't anything on TV at 3:45 in the morning. I think I'm about to start cruising Netflix and AmPrime for something that's not an informercial. Otherwise, my credit card is going to explode...Ha!
Okay, so I'm struggling with the scale again. It's creeping up, then holding steady for a few days, then creeping up again. So frustrating when I feel like I can be lower. I don't even care if it's 120s or 130s at this point. I just want out of the 140s. I think I've fought this on my own long enough. Last night I decided to join a group coaching program offered through the parent site of the group I follow. It's an 8 week course, limited to 25 participants. It has 2 coaches who are just fantastic, one who has lost about 200 lbs. without any special products or surgery - just by eating a clean ketogenic diet, and the other who is a clinical nutritionist in Australia. They specialize in helping people with Lipedema and Lymphedema - apparently there are a few special tweaks to the program that can make a huge difference. Lipedema is something that I've suspected that I may have for a long time. I've been digging and researching for the last year off and on. Anyway, there are multiple symptoms/conditions of my legs that point toward stage 1 lipedema. One of the coaches also has a history of sugar addiction, binge eating, pre-diabetes, serial weight loss & gain, etc. Her profile sounds like it's telling my story (ironically she lives just a few miles from my old house in GA...Lol). Anyway it's an 8 week program and covers a ton of ground and includes: emails, a private FB group with FB Lives with both coaches with unlimited interaction with both the coaches and other participants. I'm not looking for a magic pill, but there has to be something simple that I'm missing & I'm hoping to work it out with this group. Outside of the group work they highly encourage journaling every morning...not food journaling, but just kind of whatever is on your mind and how the act of getting the words out of your head and onto the paper helps to work through issues, stresses and concerns. The journaling also requires you to list 3 things you are grateful for each night before bed. I guess it's kind of a way of ending your day on a positive note. I really like that. Anyway, I've kind of been thinking about all of this stuff for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger last night and admit that a little help couldn't hurt. Okay, enough of my drama blathering and oversharing.
Andi - hoping to hear that you got your funding last night.
Susie - I have to agree with Andi, I got tired just reading about your activities yesterday!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday! I'll be checking back in later.

Good morning Lora and ATF. Wow, that is early, Lora!!! I don't care for those 3 AM awakenings at all, makes my whole day hard to get through and there's nothing I can do about it when it happens... Hope you have a relaxing day ahead, at least. Your coaching plan sounds like such a good one and some of the things they recommend sound very similar to BLE, coaching, journaling, and gratitude lists. They also suggest meditation which I again have fallen off of. Best of luck with it - I have found each time I've done one of these that I've learned an incredible amount and really see life and myself differently. You can't ask more than that from an 8 week coaching program! Oh yeah, weight loss and sanity around food helps too. When does the group start? I can't remember if I posted about coaching I'm seeking as well which involves Internal Family Systems, learning to deal with all those inner "parts" of ourselves that seem to run the show at times. I heard about it through BLE and people have said it's immensely helpful when you feel stuck, as I do. My DSister, the psychologist, says there's good evidence that this approach works well with eating disorders, so I'm extra interested to investigate this.
We didn't get the funding, sadly, but they give consolation awards so we came home with $12,000 which is not terrible. In some ways I'm relieved, once I got past the disappointment, because these women want to micromanage every breath you take and I know they would have made our lives very difficult. There are 352 women in this organization, all of whom donate $1000 annually and all of it is given to non-profits to support the work they do, so it's an impressive philanthropic initiative, but it comes with a lot of crazy since they're not a professional organization.
I rescheduled my training this morning for 8 AM so I didn't have to set my alarm to 5. Of course, I got up anyway at 5:45 but it's been good to not feel so stressed and rushed. I cleaned up my kitchen, prepped and packed my lunch, and made my breakfast which I'll eat when I get home from the trainer. I definitely went off the rails last night, for no good reason, at the dessert table which was all really good cookies and ruggelach, my downfall. Maybe the new coaching I'm hoping to get will help me stop sabotaging myself.
I'll go into work late today and am having a belated birthday dinner with a DF whose birthday is also in May. And I have a pretty packed day at work once I got there. This week I really feel like I'm on the hamster wheel...
Have a great day all.

Andi - I'm sorry you didn't get the full funding, but it sounds like that might be a blessing is disguise, considering the situation of the group it comes from. I'm sure your team will put the $12K to really good use for your efforts in the communities you work in. Thank you for your support! IDK why I'm always a little hesitant to share such things. I think maybe in the back of my mind I'm afraid that I might feel the need to defend myself. I never used to be that way, but I think working so long for the management staff that I did may have made me that way. I don't like that aspect of myself, but maybe that's something else I can work on. Ha!
My coaching program begins Sunday. I have a few things that I need to do to prep for the start.

just a quick post for now. Today is my Friday and I have LOTS to do at home to get ready for our weekend but I have lots to do at work today before I can think about the stuff at home.
I did not post yesterday. I started to post a couple of times and then didn't. I had a super grumpy day yesterday.
Waving to everyone.

Hey everyone -
Didn't have time to get here this morning. Yesterday was a draining day at work so the ability to get dinner and a drink after work was really helpful. Unfortunately it meant me getting home right before 9 pm - I was worn out.
Today I'm worn too. I went with one of my employees to check the last several apartments so that was a few hours of standing around and looking at yucky toilets. I'll hit my 10K steps today for sure.
I have some time to take care of a few things at home this evening - thankful for no evening plans.
Lora I hope the coaching is helpful. I looked up lipedema - I've never heard of that before you mentioned it.
Jana we all have grumpy days - hope today is better.
Andi - sorry you didn't get the money but hopefully it works out for the best.
Alright - just counting down til 5 pm and then changing into comfy clothes. It's funny - I had the maintenance guy come yesterday to replace my faucet on my sink (water had been leaking from the top of the faucet if you didn't have it "just so" and I had all these sponges on my counter set up as barricades to absorb the water - it got old). Well he came then left to get a part and wasn't back for an hour. It's always amazing how much tidying I can get done when maintenance is around or even if I just have a friend sitting there talking to me. It's something about that which really gets me motivated. It was nice coming home to a decluttered bedroom. :-)

Hi Ladies...up early and got ready for the gym (since DD was dropping off DGD) and STILL go to the gym late...darn! Anyway, it was a tough aerobics class with weights... the fans were on, but I discovered after the class that the AC wasn't working...I usually do not sweat much, but I sure did this morning. Anyway, got back home and took DGD to pre-school, stopped at Aldi's, got home and managed to just waste time (something I am VERY good at), and ended up getting to mah jongg a couple minutes late...ridiculous! Had several things I HAD to do and didn't get any of them done...and now I have Bunco tonight...cheez.
Lora - I guess, we never get to the point where we don't have to worry about slipping into old habits/whatever...at least I think you were eating clean ...just a little too much or at the wrong times...right? hope the 8 week program is very helpful. I'm sure you will share some of the things you learn with us...
Andi - wow... when that many ladies contribute that much, it can sure make a big difference for whatever non-profit they choose. Glad you got some money anyway. Even though you got up early anyway, it sure is nice not to feel stressed and rushed ...seems like I am always stressed and rushed no matter what time I get up. I have GOT to do better time management! Speaking of which...I have got to take off and run one of the errands I didn't get to earlier.
Jana - sorry about the grumpy day...yippee for your Friday being today!
Amanda - had to laugh at how much you can get done when someone is coming over...ha ...for sure!

Weird. I got logged out of this site, and now it won't let me get back to the Log On screen. Crazy. Susie - yes, I eat very clean. I thought my eating was not too much/not too little, I've tried every time combo for eating that I can think of and still, no lasting results. I don't know, it could be hormones, it could be too much dairy maybe, I'm just not sure. So hopefully one of these amazing ladies can help me figure it out. I feel like I know the ins and outs of this program pretty well, so it's just a little frustrating that I can't figure it out. I'm really hoping to find that missing nugget of information or the puzzle piece that makes everything fall back into place for me. If I don't, at least I will know that I tried and I'm sure I'll learn something new that I can take away with me. My blood sugar is running a bit higher than it used to as well, so I'm sure that isn't helping, but I can't figure out how to get it down more. Something else I'm hoping to figure out with the help of this group. I honestly don't know where you find the motivation to keep on the go, go, go seemingly all of the time! Amanda - do you have plans for the long weekend? It kind of sounds like it's time for you to schedule some YOU time
