Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere

Joyce, hope you are having a good day and just busy. Take care.
Ruth, I’m surprised that Mara isn’t responding to the anti-biotics. My boys usually were much better when they were on the meds for 24 hours. Maybe she needs to be on a different med. That happened to my DSis-her son had his first ear infection at 6 weeks and unless he was on meds he had an ear infection till he had tubes put in at 15 months. She was a stay-at-home mom but her daughter was in K so I’m sure she brought some germs home. There were times that the meds just quit working for the little guy and had to be changed. Good thing about the scarfs for Carol, keeps you busy and then you know she has something she likes.
We were only at the lake for the day yesterday. The new fridge arrived about 12:30 and then Bill had to install the icemaker. I did some more work outside, place is looking great. We just got back from T-Mobile, our cell phone carrier. We don’t have any service at the lake and that is a concern when we are there alone. When our kids come we hook on to their hot spot (I don’t get how it works but it does) and then can use our phones if we need to. The salesperson was very helpful – he asked if we had the roaming setting turned on. The setting was not on even though we had been back to that store and at a store in Florida 3 or 4 times and no one told us about that. He suggested we see how the weekend is with the roaming.

Local TV reporter, John Brown, shared this:
If I were to write a movie about a hockey team:
-I'd begin with a team that has never won Stanley Cup and hasn't been to the finals in nearly 50 years. -I'd put that team in last place in the NHL halfway through the season. -I'd fire the coach and bring in a guy that very few people know. -I'd promote a rookie goalie... who would miraculously get hot... and lead the team to the playoffs. -I'd have one playoff series go to 7 games and win it in double-overtime. -I'd have the refs steal another game in overtime (by an obvious penalty that wasn't called.) -After that "hand pass", I'd have my team outscore the competition 12-2. -I'd have one of the hottest Hollywood stars as their biggest fan and even talk about the team on Jimmy Kimmel. -I'd also write a story line about how the other professional sports team in town (who everyone loves) starts showing up at games to cheer. -During one playoff game, I'd write in a tornado that cancelled the baseball game so the entire city could focus on the clinching game of the Western Conference Finals. -Then I'd have them play the team that beat them 49 years ago, from Boston no less. -And just for kicks, I'd include a little girl battling cancer who is befriended by the team. She would survive and go on to be at the playoff games.
But who would believe all that?

Hi there Dottie! .....and ATF -- Yes, the Blues cinched the NHL Western Division Title last night, Good News for St.Louis. Jody was here Saturday and left for her medical appt and to visit friends in Columbia MO. She returns tomorrow and will start her return to South Texas on 5/31. I think we are having dinner with 2 of her former co-workers (retired RN's). One is coming in from Covington, IN (about a 5-6 hr drive) just for supper and then driving about 3 hrs towards home before checking into a hotel. The other one lives on the IL side of the river in a nearby suburb. Since I've received the RE Appraisal, I haven't done much CB'ing but I have a small bag of items that Jody wants that will be leaving soon. Still haven't given the front patio and all the patio furniture a good cleaning. That's on the list, if I have to do a 15 ft section at a time. The area is probably 50 ft or longer...almost the length of the house/mobile home. I did get the hostas that the steps gave me for Mother's Day in the ground, also planted the two plants together in a new pot and have them sitting in an old white wrought iron type plant stand. I'd still like to get more plants ....a variety that will fill and spill over for two hanging baskets. Buying them ready to go is beyond my budget but I might settle on a couple of fuchsias that I saw at Lowe's, hope they knock a few $'s off of them soon...maybe a Memorial Day sale? Speaking of Memorial Day, what is everyone planning?? Jody and I will make the drive to SE MO and decorate John's grave, her nephew's and her MiL& FiL's grave. At 1pm on Monday, about 25-30 miles from there the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield MO is having a special Memorial Day Service. That is where her DH's (John's 1st cousin) ashes are interned. It's probably a 3 hr drive from Fenton to Bloomfield but the roads are pretty good but will probably be very busy with folks coming home from the 3 day weekend. Not much else going on here, I have a load of L in the washer just waiting for me to start it but since there isn't a lot, I may wait until after my morning shower and I'd still have it done before Jody returns. Take care all.

Good evening all. Nice to see you here again Cathy! You must have been in the office!!! You will be busy with Jody when she gets back there. Will you watch the hockey games on tv? I might. Mike Yeo is still the head coach isn’t he?
Dottie, she was getting some better yesterday and was doing great today. I think maybe the fact that she had a double infection and the NP said the one was incredibly red may have made a difference. Our older DD took amoxicillin, ampicillin, penicillin, erythromycin, sulfa, you name it. I’m not sure that she isn’t allergic to some of them now. I’m allergic to anything with “cillin” in it!!! And z-paks, and a couple others!!! Mara turned 18 mo today. Today would have been my DFIL’s birthday (would be 115 today); and on 5/22/1971 we moved into our other house. So odd coincidences!!!!
Dottie, what kind of fridge did you get? I love the ice and water in the door. Wouldn’t have one w/o after having it. I find I drink a lot more water that way. And I do need to get back to it.
We didn’t get a walk in today. When it finally quit raining, Mara was sleeping, and when she got up, it was clouding up again and I was afraid to get caught out half way around the block with her in the stroller. I wouldn’t melt but I’m not sure she’d appreciate it. But I did get 1 set of exercises done today. We have T-Mobile too. And it’s amazing how different the help is between different locations. Sometimes you get someone who is fantastic and sometimes you wonder where on earth they found the person waiting on you!!!!
Joy, hope work is going well.
Need to finish up some laundry and then I’m going to knit more on Carol’s scarf and try to refrain from snacking! Other than a banana!
More tomorrow!!!
