This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends,
Well, I managed to sleep a whole hour longer this morning. Yay me. (rolling my eyes). I need to run to the DG today for a couple of things and it looks like today might be mowing day as well. Highs today around 94, but if I can get it all done before early afternoon, I'll finish while it's still in the high 80s....Lol. Not sure how much difference that will actually make, but with it scheduled to hit 97 on Sunday today is my best shot of not melting during the mowing process. Ha!
Jana - the kitchen sign you made was really cute. Was that all one stencil? Or did you combine a couple?
Not much else happening here at the moment. I hope Thursday is treating you kindly. Have a great morning and I'll check back in later.

Good morning!
I am off until Tuesday. Woo hoo. We have a lot planned during this time though. Today I have a hair appointment and then our realtor is coming by our house to look it over. She is going to give us suggestions on what to do to help it sale quickly once we put it on the market. We know bare minimum we need to do paint and floors but I imagine there is a lot more we need to do. We were told if you do a nice updated kitchen that helps a LOT. But we will see what she has to suggest. Once we are ready to sale we do not want it to sit for months and months.
We had the HVAC guy come out yesterday and do a inspection and maintenance on our HVAC. I really, really thought he would tell us we need a whole new system. He said it just needed to be cleaned well but it was running well. That was great news. We now have a service plan with the company that came out.
Tomorrow afternoon we are going to look at 3 houses and a piece of land. This will probably be it for awhile unless something interesting comes on the market.
Saturday will be getting the back yard ready for the party - we do not have any trees in our back yard and it is supposed to be super hot on Sunday. (might look into getting a tent rental in a bit)
Sunday is the cookout/party.
I would like to paint some while I am off - maybe today sometime - I don't know.
Lora the coffee sign I did was one stencil I found at the craft store. I want to redo my kitchen and my new kitchen wherever that ends up being I want to do coffee and wine. I want a coffee station - I do not have enough room in my current kitchen unfortunately. I hope you get the lawn cut today and it isn't too hot on you.
Waving to everyone else. I will check in again later.

Good morning everyone -
Lora - I don't have anything specific planned for the long weekend. I'd like to work on packing a few things (I feel like I can go ahead and pack most of my books for example) and continuing efforts to purge the junk I don't need. Also would like to catch up on some reading (might sit outside in my "zero gravity" chair in the sun if it's not too hot) and some scrapbooking type things.
Meetings all day today and tomorrow. It'll make time go by fast but also is a little stressful.
Lora that's too hot for May. I'm worried for you in August.
Jana enjoy the long weekend - you have a lot planned but I hope you get to relax a bit as well!

Good morning ROs. I was so exhausted when I got home last night that I left one of the inside lights on in the car. Happily it started fine this morning, but really... It's just been a crazy week and I'm feeling the after effects. I'm headed to the city today for one of my two regular monthly meetings. I won't make the one next week because I have a conflict so at least there's just one trip this month. I have lots to read so am actually looking forward to the extended train time today.
I got up before 6 and got a huge amount accomplished: ran a load of laundry, got gas, took cash out from the bank, went to the supermarket (too tired last night to get there), made lunch and dinner for the trip to the city today, baked my Norwegian rolls and made and ate breakfast, washed dishes and have done a little work. Whew. Oh, also talked to DSon on the phone.
Still not doing really well foodwise, can't seem to sustain being back on my program or any program for more than a day or two. I like BLE eating; it's just too restrictive. And I haven't come up with the perfect plan to replace it so am doing some of it and some calorie counting and some just eating whatever I want. Am afraid to get on the scale. At least I'm still doing the workouts with the trainer 3X a week, but that will only be for another week and then it will be twice a week.
Lora, wow that is hot! Glad you're not trying to use a push mower because you'd end up with heat stroke. You guys get into summer early, for sure. Looks like we're getting up to 85 here on Sunday which is definitely hot for us this early in summer.
Jana, sounds like you're really ready to move! Hope you find just the right place and that your current house sells quickly. Your weekend plans sound fun.
Amanda, time in the zero gravity chair sounds great. I don't get what they mean by that - they seem like a regular chair to me, not sure what is zero gravity about them, but definitely comfortable.
Have a great day all. I won't be back since so much of my day will be in transit and I get home late.

Okay, I've been to the DG and back, the mowing is complete, I've showered and now I'm just relaxing and hydrating. Pheeew! I'm glad to have that all out of the way. BTW, those temps are not normal for this time of year. Generally we'd have high 80s, low 90s well into June. I think (hope) it's just a hot snap. Ha! Not too bad for 11:15am.
My chairs delivered, I think I'll get them out on the patio once the sun gets behind the back trees this evening.
Amanda - sounds like the long weekend is a good opportunity to get some good stuff accomplished. I hope the weather stays nice so you can sit outside. P.S. I'm also a little concerned about July/August. haha
Andi - Oh I'd so NOT be push mowing the whole yard in this weather. That $70 a week would definitely be going into Handy Randy's pocket. Although I do still use the push mower a little to edge out around the house, patio and drive way. I just can't get close enough with the rider. But that's generally only two rows around the perimeter, then I switch out and ride the rest of the way. Sorry you're feeling off your game on you food plan. I thought I read that you were going to do a combo of old WW and BLE, are you not doing that right now?
Jana - we did not do updates to the kitchen, and sold very quickly. My BIL didn't do them, and his sat for quite a long time. Then he did them and it still sat for a long time. So it's honestly kind of a crap shoot, in my opinion. I think a lot of times, the main thing is for it to appear to be clean. I did buy new racks for the oven so they were bright and shiny, new drain trap things for the sink, and cleaned the natural wood cabinets with orange glow. Which made them look great and it also smelled fresh and wonderful. Also, something that made a BIG impact on the buyers is that we made a binder with the owners manual (dated with purchase) for every appliance that was staying in the house. Also in that binder was info on our HOA, receipts for things like the septic service, the new windows, HVAC, water heater, etc. And a section with business cards from all of the repair & service folks we've used over the years. I had never seen this before, but it was recommended by our listing agent, and the buyers agent and the buyers both mentioned how much they loved that when we met at closing. It made us appear to be super organized (Hahaha!), and the buyer said that when they saw that, they knew how particular we must have been with the house. (not exactly the case, but I didn't tell her that....Lol).

Hi Ladies...got up early enough to take a quick walk and then DH and I went to a lecture on George Washington at LLI - man, this guy is so knowledgeable and entertaining! The class always applauds when he is finished. Then we "hightailed" it to a potluck luncheon at the church - outside at umbrella covered picnic tables - there was a slight breeze so it was not bad. I helped carry several serving tables and folding chairs back into the church (so a little more exercise)...that definitely made me hotter - ha. Chilling now and hoping to read some before I head out to meet my group of retired lady colleagues for dinner... does it seem like all I do is eat?? lol After seeing some of the "seniors"at the outdoor luncheon today and the difficulties they had, I have determined to be even more diligent with my diet (and night eating).
Jana - can't wait to hear what the realtor says about your current home....I am excited about the other 3 properties you are going to look at also.
Amanda - after you are Lora both mentioned zero gravity chairs, I looked them up to see exactly what they were...lol. I know you are looking forward to getting through all the meetings today and tomorrow.
Andi - I am like you ... the zero gravity chairs looked pretty much like lawn chairs to me - lol. So glad you got to the workout with your trainer. I sure hope you can continue after the 2 sessions a week to maybe even 1 session a week. It just night keep you motivated to go another morning or two on your own. Even if your eating is all over the place, these sessions are a real NS victory for you!
Lora - YIPPEE for getting the lawn mowed - one thing out of the way! Now you deserve an evening on the patio!
OK.. I goofed off so much that I now have about 15 minutes to read before I have to leave - cheeze!

Good evening.
I did not paint today but I did take a nice long nap on the couch with my pup. Got my hair cut and back home. I have all of our laundry done.
Realtor came by and walked through the house. Her recommendations were: flooring, paint the whole inside of the house, put in a double vanity in the main bathroom upstairs, repair the back porch and have it painted (missing a couple of the middle pieces) and replace the front stoop. Oh and to put new counter tops in the kitchen. The counters in the kitchen were not done well originally. We have a gap between the dishwasher and the oven. Oh, the realtor also thinks she can get us a better price than what we were thinking - I am still skeptical about that part of it though.
DS had her final surgery today. She found out late yesterday that they were going to try and work her in today. I wasn't able to go to NC to be with her and her DH. My BIL called me a little bit ago. She is back in her room and in and out of it. Her surgeon said he would try to come by and see them but he had surgeries all day and it might be tomorrow before he could come by. We are assuming that everything went well. As long as there are no complications, DS can possibly go home Monday or Tuesday.

Jana - I know the feeling. I was SOOOOOO skeptical when our agent told us what her recommended listing price was. It was so much higher than I was thinking we would be going with. And then it went and sold for just 3K less than the listing price. You could have knocked me over with a feather, I swear. So I guess the moral here is, listen to your agent, especially if she had experience in your area. She'll know what the market will bear. So exciting for DS!! I'll keep all of my best healing mojo earmarked with her name. After my busy morning, I didn't do much else for the rest of the day. A little rock painting and a load of laundry, that's about it.
Tomorrow morning (DH has PTO tomorrow), we have to drive into the city. That wasn't the plan, but DMIL called and said that they bought a sound bar for their TV and can't figure out how to make it work. So I'll go get it hooked up and working for them. Other than that, no really any other specific plans. While we're in town though, I think I'll pop in a Kroger and pick up a few things that I can only get there.

Hi everyone, Thanks for the link, Lora! I think, for some reason, I am better able to access this sight from my home computer. This is the one I originally signed on with. As long as I have internet access (sigh), I can hopefully get on at home. Maybe there is something about my work computer, that isn't letting me get on here. It will NOT recognize my user name. Jana, that so helpful, to know what you need to do, and you can prioritize these things, and it will be adding to the appeal and value, no matter what you do! I sure hope your DS is feeling better soon. She has sure been through it, but she seems to really be a trooper. Susie, your hosting night sounded fun! I am a little behind, here, with my posting issues.. It seems like you are really enjoying your retirement, but you are busier than ever! I also have issues with eating at night. I can go all day without even wanting to eat, but come the evening, I want to cruise through the kitchen. My stomach has been feeling a little better, so I have to watch the munchies. I don't want to gain back what I lost! Andi, I'm glad your battery wasn't dead! What are Norwegian rolls? I don't think I remember you talking about those. For some reason, they just sound good! I did ok with eating today. I got a 12 in sub from Subway, with turkey breast, provolone, tomato, cucumber, spinach, lettuce, banana peppers, black olives, and mustard on multigrain bread. I had half for lunch, then half for dinner, and some fresh berries. I like lots of veggies on my sub. I was satisfied, but not full, and I think my stomach does better that way. Tomorrow, we are supposed to have Thai food for lunch, at work, so we will see what shows up! Hopefully, I can make my way back here tomorrow. I love keeping up with you guys again, and have been so frustrated with my site issues! Have a great evening everyone.
