Linda, they are adorable! I don't know anyone in that area, but I put the URL on the Belly Rubs Basset Rescue FB group I belong to. Maybe someone near Clarksville can step in and lend a hand. You deserve to kick back and read after the unplanned day you had yesterday. Are you still getting rain today? I'll bet all those drought-loving plants are not happy. I hope you don't get any more rain to ruin outdoor graduations. Are your high schools 4 years or 3? Mine was 3 and we had about 1200 students total, so quite a bit smaller, even if it's 4 years.
I hope DB/DSIL will have a gator-proof fenced area for the pups, Kathy. The previous owners have horses that are still on the property, so there's some fencing but for much larger animals. They also plan to put in a pool, so I'll tell them they need one of those gator floats. LOL. I believe they are about 12 miles inland from Mobile Bay, so hopefully that's too far for gators to walk. We're heading for the low 90s again today, It's a bit more humid today as well. Dale's insurance options aren't through his employer, but through our financial institution. We had no idea that would be an option either.
Becky, I don't blame you for not walking outside with the wind, but the pain is the main reason not to be on your feet. Hopefully your pain will be short-lived now that you have your shots scheduled. Raspberries were also on sale and they were the same price as blackberries but the raspberry containers were a bit smaller, so technically more expensive per ounce.
What's going on for your day, Chele? How did the bread turn out? How's your weather? Is your Memorial Day going to feel more like 4th of July, like we're going to have here? Are Iggy's clothes all clean so he can hit the road on Tuesday? I hope you won't have to put in too much time over the holiday weekend to get to enjoy.
I saw Hatteras on the weather map this morning, near where Liz is, and the weather looks great there. Temps are in the upper 70s to low 80s, so just about perfect. The humans here are still dragging due to our early a.m. wake up. The problem was a downstairs smoke alarm that Dale had changed the battery in recently, so we have no idea why it went off. Sure would have been nice had it gone off at 4:30 in the afternoon, instead of 4:30 in the morning. My ears are still ringing. I did everything I could physically do and crashed on the couch. Arya has 3 weeks of beef for breakfasts, I have clean clothes for when I go out of the house, Arya got a good brushing, and I vacuumed. I also cooked up some fire roasted corn and edamame to go on my salad for dinner and made a white balsamic and maple syrup oil-free dressing that should sweeten up the spicyness of the canola greens. I think we'll be ready for bed before sundown.

Thanks for the start Karen.Sorry about the rude awakening but glad everything is okay.I woke up at 5:20 so I didn't sleep much longer than you.
Linda Those dogs are adorable.
Karen At HEB both raspberry and blackberry containers contain 6 oz so if they are even close in price I will buy both and the raspberries have been so good.I did walk 40 minutes this morning while it was still cloudy and not hot yet but it is just so hard walking without even the back of my legs hurting.I have never encountered such an unprofessional medical office staff before.I'm glad it's only a one shot visit because I won't be going back to see him again. After all that you should be ready for bed before sunset.I have been so tired the last few days I guess from hurting and my Garmin said I was asleep by 9:15 last night. The night before Kenneth said he told me good night and I never answered back.
Waves to all.

Linda, doggies are too cute. I hope someone can foster them for a few months. Wow, what an unexpected gardening chore! I hope you are relaxing today.
Becky, I am happy to hear the shots are scheduled. I wouldn’t be going back there either. You are one determined exerciser to go walking with that much pain.
Karen, I am glad you could get Dale insurance through your financial institution. That was an unpleasant wake up call. Ours is sensitive and goes off when something is smoking the oven but, at least, we are awake. You cooked up a storm today. The bread turned out great. I did Iggy’s laundry on Wednesday so he is all set. I am glad Liz is having good weather. We will be close to 90° tomorrow and lower 80s Sunday and Monday.
Kathy, I heard your part of the world may get record breaking temps this weekend. I hope DS checks the pool before she goes out there.
I went Krogering this morning after 9 am and still they were not fully stocked on produce. Disappointing. Iggy is going to cut the grass when he gets home and I am making curried fish casserole. No eggs in this meal. We received a last minute invitation to the niece’s to celebrate the GDN’s 2nd birthday on Sunday. We were planning on going to a festival but family... Frankly, I am not sure we would have been invited had I not sent a card and funds. Yes, I am cynical, but we are going anyway.

The schools are four year here.
I get a lot of those pet posts on FB because my niece's family is military and people are always looking for pet sitters while deployed. They are for all over the country.
Have a good restful holiday weekend.
I seem to have sprained my finger in my sleep...I guess it did not want more pruning today. That's a new one.
So I caught up on the deskwork I let go too long, mailed stuff, gave Micki a nice walk while it is still amazingly nice, and cooked supper ahead: curried cottage pie using the leftover mashed potatoes and rote grüze,which is a fruit pudding. You may remember the junket renet fruit custard? It is like that.
Also for lunch made a turkey and mac salad with nuts, raisins, and chutney in the dressing that DH likes. I had yoghurt and kefir before that. I may never get my gut bacteria back after three different rounds of antibiotics in five weeks. And it feels like it!
