Heat broke around midnight last night. Windy and cooler for a few days. Never mind it if it cools down at night but on nights it stays hot...ugh.
We have split unit AC/heat in various smaller rooms BUT when building put in central type heating with ducts and spent a bucketload of money only to not be able to use it as our electricity supply would not handle it at first then we were hit by lightning and the units, central phone system and manyother things were ruined. So, the ac/heat on the main floor that is open can really cost money to run AND when off the temperature seems to dissipate quickly In spite of insulation in the cement walls.
What I can do:
* hydrate * track foods eaten * clean out the frig...or at least get rid of some of the things lurking within
BECKY: Hope the injection situation works okay this time. Isn't there someone you can voice your concerns to? Hope Richard has sa splendid birthday and you find him the perfect little present.
AUDREY: Those long flights are so hard! The trip from Lebanon was always over 24 hours door to door. Hope all connections and flights are smooth!
ANN: Christmas lima bean is like a big broad or butter bean but looks like a cow's mottled hide:
JUNE: I used to love lima beans but haven't seen them often here. They tend to have ful/fava beans, chickpeas, green beans, peas...not the others unless dry and rehydrated then cooked in various ways...in Lebanon. Not sure if mom used canned lima beans but imagine she did since we didn't have a garden.
MJ: You always sound so BUSY! It must be a mixed blessing having children close by and being so involved in their lives...good to be close but perhaps at times demanding of your time.
BEE: How marvelous to have your daughter visit and be so helpful. My daughter will be here in a few weeks...last time she came we CLEANED. Usually we have fun and don't clean like we did last visit.
SUSIQ: How far in advance do you plan meals? Which program are you following now?
PAM: Blue dots...kind of looking for the gold star on the graded paper

Good morning all. It's going to be another nice day here...or so 'they say' Cathy thank you for explaining the Christmas beans. I will have to look for those. I like all beans. Audrey you may be right...they could be an heirloom bean. Happy your heatwave broke Today I plan on tracking and following the GHG's. I shall also be going to spend some time with my elder lady friend. I saw her briefly yesterday. While I'm doing that I'm sure Carl will find something to get involved with. Wishing AWF a wonderful and OP day.

56* now, low-70*s later, sunny but supposed to get cloudy, with light winds. Good soccer tournament weather; Son#1 and crew will be in Manasquan for one for the Kressling. Also good gardening weather.
It's SATURDAY! I'll finally get to my REGULAR WW workshop for 8 AM, then come home to put the petunias and marigolds in my raised planter and the parsley and dill over by the butterfly garden ("salad greens" for the caterpillars). Then we'll head out to the Time To Eat Diner for KSMB - today it is a mid-day meal so DBabySis (who has early-in-the-day gut problems) can attend.
Then? I want to speak to Toots about painting the basement steps, and if he's good with that idea we'll stop at Home Depot for a paint color card. It's an old habit to want to do a project on a long weekend...
But first, I need coffee... βββ... and breakfast...
πΏπΉπΏπΉπΏπΉπΏπΉπΏ Have a healthy-eating day, all. πΏπΉπΏπΉπΏπΉπΏπΉπΏ

June - Thanks for starting us. Bee - I'm wearing a pair of your aware glasses Ann - Enjoy your visit Cathy - I remember when we were in Cairo in July 1979 having no power/water pressure during the day upstairs because the businesses underneath drained everything. It was quite an experience for the first time I ever left the country. I have a general plan for the week based on what's on sale and what's in season. On Sunday's I do prep work to have grab and go items to mix and match. Then either the night before or first thing in the morning I plan the actual day. Today I started with a tomato sandwich. Dinner will be steamed lobster (on sale) with Mexican street corn, salad w/ov, light garlic roll. Lunch will depend on what I find at the farmer's market that just opened today with tuna salad as the back up. I track on SmartPoints and MFP but really follow Points Plus with the GHG. Safe travels Audrey That's going to be a nasty commute for them MJ. Enjoy your "free" day. I've walked Charlie, fed the ferals, transplanted more peppermint, got more granite and vines from the "hell hole" behind the old fence and am now heading to the beach with Carol for a few hours. Cheryl will stop over this afternoon for some deck time. Given the forecast, I may end up putting up the pool this weekend. Actual schedule for that is after June 8th so we'll see. Have a great day everyone. Thanks for being here.

So far, I've been to my WW workshop, planted my parsley and dill by the butterfly garden, and planted marigolds, petunias, and impatiens in my raised planter.
Now we're getting ready to head out to the Time To Eat Diner - might be an interesting ride, depending on traffic heading to PA for the holiday.

Bee I am trying to be willing and aware with you.I am chugging the water with you.
Cathy I'm glad your heat finally broke last night.I understand the AC/heating costs. We just have a window unit for AC and I don't turn it on until it gets too warm in the house. We only have it in the main room we use however so not too terribly expensive. The picture of the Christmas beans looks good.
Ann Enjoy the visit with your elder lady friend.I'm sure she will enjoy the visit also.
MJ I hope you enjoyed your WW workshop and the monthly breakfast for lunch.Enjoy your gardening and possible trip to Home Depot.
June Good goals.I hope you got some help from R and his friend.

Susi Enjoy your beach and deck time.I hope the weather cooperates so you can put up the pool.
Okay everyone knows about my continuing saga trying to get my knee injections.I thought it was all settled when the lady called me Thursday and said the doctor would be bringing the injections from his Austin office to the Bastrop satellite office for my appt next Thurs afternoon. We were grocery shopping in another store this morning and I received a call from the Walmart pharmacy.I was puzzled because I have not used their pharmacy this year. They left a VM to call them back which I did.It was a pharmacist telling me they received a prescription for injections on 5/10 which I would need to pick up and take it to the ortho surgeon. They hadn't filled it yet because they said it would cost $3000 ro have it filled there and they were wondering if I really wanted it filled. She was really nice and I told her not to fill it and she said no she wouldn't.
My question is what kind of doctor expects you to pick up your own medicine for injections and bring it to his office.I have thought he was an idiot from the last time I used him a couple of yrs ago but the office wasn't that far away so I thought I would try him again. Most of his office staff is unprofessional but I really didn't think he was incompetent also.I will be calling Tue,Wed and Thursday morning if I need to.If it indeed costs that much I will ask where I can pick up my x-ray CD and I will find someone else.
Thanks for reading my long rant.I am still in awe of this situation. It's totally unbelievable.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.
