Linda, I didn't see the photo of your purchases until just now. Those are some fresh eggs! Bet they still have a few little feathers and other things clinging to the shells. What's in the plastic bag between the zucchini (or is it cucumber) and tomatoes? Yes, the neighbors are not the most considerate. Fortunately, they aren't there all the time (which is one reason their place was able to be robbed). Their kids are also the ones who shot over my head when I was coming back from kayaking one time and they were on jet skis near dark last night terrorizing the ducks that live in our cove. So I guess you could say they feel they are entitled to do what ever they want. I hope Dale woke them up when he started cutting back the weeds around 8:30 this morning. You may have hit the nail on the head with your itch and the ficus. Is it totally gone now or does some remain to cause you problems later? I hope your Allegra helped quickly and will last a while. Chele has a point about how your gut bacteria takes a long time to get back to normal and causing other non-gut issues. You may just be more susceptible right now.
I don't think either of us has plans to be out on the lake today or tomorrow, Chele. In fact, Dale reminded me last night that he's doing a triathlon about an hour from here tomorrow. So much for getting to sleep late on the holiday. My parents liked some of the early to mid 60s music, especialy the Beatles pre Sgt. Pepper. They didn't appreciate some of the later stuff and other bands of the era. They were more into Percy Faith, Montovani, and soundtracks like Camelot and South Pacific. I'll bet when they cleaned out DM's place, she still had those albums. What a gigantic waste of resources on the rally. I would love to say they'll think twice before they do that again, but they won't. It didn't cost them anything but their time. If the city hadn't planned, there probably would have been 500 people on each side and riots in the streets. They have to be proactive just in case.
Becky, are you getting some wind from the tornadoes north of you? They mentioned a couple of places in TX that got hit but I think they are near OK. How's your pain level today?
Safe travels home, Liz! Hope you had a very relaxing time and the work bunch left you totally alone. Have you had any thoughts of retiring to OBX when the time comes?
Kathy, given our weather forecast for the next several days, I guess there's no chance things will be cooling off for you any time soon. Will you be going to DM's or DS's tomorrow for a picnic? If so, I'll bet most of it won't be outdoors unless you're in the pool. Yacht Rock is back on Sirius XM from now through Labor Day. I hope they will broaden their playlist a bit more this year.
I got the garden beds watered as well as the blueberries and elderberries, so they should be good til about midweek even if we don't get any rain, which is what the weather guessers are saying right now. I had to wade through high grass to get to the plants but Dale has it all cut back now. Maybe if we don't get rain for a few days it won't get out of control too soon. I finally broke down and took off the electric mattress pad and it's in the washer. Clean sheets on and quilt will be back on as soon as it comes out of the dryer. Not much more planned for the day. I saw a good segment on the a.m. news for a black bean burger recipe I plan to try later in the week and have black beans soaking. It's surprising when I have all the ingredients for a recipe I hadn't been planning to make. I think bean burgers will be on the menu quite frequently this summer, so this will give me another option.
Enjoy the holiday weekend, Chicks!
