Karen, thanks for the start. Toasty is right. We're supposed to get to 98 today and I heard Gainesville got up to 102 yesterday. Not a cloud in sight either. Some rain is supposed to start this weekend, so let's hope that holds up. I'll be on the lookout for the Don Lee Farms Chipotle Black Bean Burgers today, although I probably won't buy them until I use up the Dr. Praegers. I have to admit I still like the flavor of the Morningstar black bean ones better, but you and Chele convinced me that they didn't have good ingredients. I can't always read the fine print either and have been surprised once in a while.
Chele, I heard about the tornadoes in Dayton. It sounds really bad for the areas that got hit, so I'm hoping all is well where you are.
Waving to everyone.

Chele and Iggy are ok. They have power but nothing else. It was still dark so they couldn't tell if there was any damage. Hope she can update us later.

Linda, how odd about that drug causing itching after you quit taking it. That may explain what happened with you, unless it's just a weird coincidence, especially since Micki has it too. Maybe his is sympathy itching. Fortunately, Allegra is helping, whatever it is.
How goes the calls to the doctor's office, Becky? Sorry about your friend, but even sorrier your knees were so uncomfortable while you were at the visitation. Just for grins, I was looking at home prices in Port Aransas, and Harvey has driven prices way up! Like double what I had expected, and nothing really special. I guess it's probably that way along the coast and will be for some time. Good thing we aren't planning to relocate there like we were before we built here.
Kathy, I remembered Linda saying they were heating up and she's been the surprising holdout. I saw 89 on the car thermometer coming home and it was only about 11 am. The Don Lee burger was good but, sadly, we couldn't get the Thaan charcoal brick to stay lit, so it ended up being nuked, so it could have been better. They weren't on sale, so I would wait to see if they BOGO them at some point. I had it on a thin bun with a smear of Vegenaise, a slice of CSA tomato and a leaf of CSA kale (I prefer kale to lettuce on a sandwich). Did you have a family get together for the holiday? Has DN made a grad school decision? The Longhorn in me hopes he goes that direction, but I know it would be nice for the family to have him closer. Austin is an amazing place to live, especially for someone of his generation. There's lots to do there, almost too much. When we lived there, we were into something just about every weekend. Sometimes we wish we would have stayed there. Had we bought the house we put a bid in on, we probably would have.
I heard from Chele a little while ago and they still have power but nothing else. They seem to be unscathed except for a few veggie plants and one of "her" robins. From the mess I saw on CNN while working out, and what a mess! I don't know how anyone can deny the existence of climate change seeing just the weather events we've expeirienced in this country in less than 6 months of 2019.
I did a full 33 minutes on the AMT at AF today and actually sweated, which typically doesn't happen there because they have the AC cranked pretty good. I was definitely in my cardio zone according to the HR registered on the machine. All errands are run and got home before Noon. Plants are watered and Arya is napping. Maybe I will too.
Liz, I'm wishing you sanity at St. Crazy, or is that even a possibility?

Karen, thanks for the updates on Chele. That's a relief that they didn't have much damage. Some areas of Dayton and Celina just look devastated. There's no such thing as climate change and the earth is flat. The NASA moon mission was a hoax! After much deliberation, DN has decided to go to UCF. I was kind of hoping for UT too since I know he'd really enjoy that area, but it will be nice to have him still be local. He decided the UCF program was more in line with what he wanted and of course, much cheaper. I didn't see the Don Lee burgers, but didn't look that hard today since I have plenty of veggie burgers in the freezer right now. We all avoided each other over the weekend since DN and DM had colds. DN had already spent the day at DS's house before he realized it. I took DM to the store today and she still sounds a bit froggy, but seemed to be feeling pretty good.

Karen, forgot to mention that the car thermometer said 97 on the way home from the store. It's really hazy outside too and definitely not good for allergies. I hope this heat breaks next week as they're predicting. How hot did it get where you are?

Thanks for the start Karen.
Kathy One woman said it was 99 where she lived yesterday.Thank goodness we are still in the low 90's but it's cloudy and has gone down to 84.We are expecting a little chance of rain the next 3 days.
Karen Thanks for the update on Chele.I heard about the tornadoes in Ohio.I'm glad she and Iggy are okay and hope they didn't have any damage.I called Humana and thank goodness they will pay everything except $300 for the 2 injections so I'm still going on Thursday.Real estate is just expensive everywhere in TX now.I agree on climate change.I don't know how anyone can still deny it's existence.
Waves to Chele,Linda and Liz.

Have been avoiding news..Wow.glad Chele is ok. My rekatives now get tornado watches...totally new thing. Climate change. People do not understand warming of oceans causes weird winds and weather...often colder..Yeah, lot of ignorant people out there who know no science and resent people who do. Sad. Bad for us all, especially since politicians who get money from oil companies lie and stop legislation to help us just so they can protect profits and their own power.
Still amazed that no 100 again until Monday. This tied as coldest Mem. Day here on record, and it snowed in Flagstaff, but tomorrow the 90s are back.
Rhubarb, when I can get it,makes a nice pie. Some put strawberries in with it, but mom made it with five cups sliced rhubard, cup of sugar, cup of flour and an egg...left to sit an hour for juices to mingle with the rest. Top with butter bits then top pie pastry. moisten too and sprinkle sugar over it. bake at 425 for 25 min then 375 for 45. It is sweet/sour. added plus the veg has great fiber. It makes good compote topped with whipped cream, or great crisp. I made a half pie, using a very small pie dish.
Body continues to have problems with digestion and what follows, lot of gas, allergies, itching. mostly arms and hand and areas exposed to air.....going to take time to get good bacteria back to regulate thingsafter three different antibiotics in 40 days. yuck. that was a horrible month. Ragweed is blooming! Coming 100s should dampen that .
I keep plugging away but not overdoing it. Just sitting leaves too much time to think.
So today I hit the pantry and the China cabinet tasks...which of course leads to other things. My there are lots of grains and such past date!

WOW, Linda! Looks like Liz could be in for a rough night, along with your NE family and friends. More snow in Flagstaff? Those poor people. But if you live there, you probably love snow anyway. I'm sorry to say that our president is one of those politicians who believes his oil company buddies more than scientists and has rolled back most of the climate protections and pulled us out of the Paris Accord. So we will continue to be heavy polluters like his friends in China. I was never a fan of rhubarb growing up, even when it was sweetened with strawberries. Definitely a good source of fiber, however.
Kathy, I'm glad DN made his decision based on what he felt was the best program for him. I think it may have hit 90 here today, so you had us beat. Sorry DM has been under the weather, but good that she's feeling back to herself, even if she's froggy.
Enjoy your low 90s, Becky. I'm happy that you got some clarification from Humana so you know what you're looking at. I know what you mean about real estate in TX. The house we almost bought has tripled in value and the neighborhood has exploded, so lots of expensive houses.

House values go up and so do taxes. Ditto feelings on climate change.
Still no water, cable or WiFi. Yesterday ATT cell service would not connect me to the internet. All I could do was text. Sometimes an email snuck through. Went out once and all the traffic lights were out except on our side of the burb. I live in the city but am closer to the suburb we pay our school taxes to.
Iggy left for the airport. He used bottled water for a shave and sponge bath. At least there are working bathrooms at the airport.
Woke up with a raging headache. Could not shower off pollen or wash out of hair. May go to GF’s house today.
Have a good day.
