Karen, thanks for the start.
Chele, I'm guessing those areas without working traffic lights don't have power, so it's good you at least have that. Hope the water comes back soon. Sorry about the headache and I know not being able to shower isn't helping. Did you wind up going to GF's house? I think the tornadoes you get there are worse than our hurricanes in some ways since we at least have some warning. Speaking of which, hurricane season starts June 1, oh joy. We have our tax free sale starting this weekend for hurricane supplies. Hope things get back to normal for you soon. I know what a big pain it is not to have services.
We're still in a heat wave with upper 90s and no rain. We can only water lawns 2x/week, so lawns are frying and the fire index is high. Hope we get some rain soon.
Waving to all. Have a good day.

Chele, I hope things are back to some semblance of normal by now and the headache left. Did you have to go to GF's for a shower? And maybe stopped someplace for a nice meal while you were out? Did Iggy get to Houston ok? It seemed there was a system around the middle of the country, so I hope he didn't have any issues from it impacting his flight. How many of the work group went? Will he be back on Friday? I saw that the Reds had about a 2 hour rain delay this afternoon, so I hope you didn't get more rain.
I don't think you said if you went to the museum yesterday, Linda. If not, did you work today? Are your temps moving up? How's the itch?
Kathy, our Publix ad has the Greenwise organic veggies on sale this week. I don't think I need anything at Publix so that's tempting but I probably won't stop if I don't need anything else there. When you said you have a tax free period coming up this weekend I thought it's too early for school supplies. Never thought of having one for hurricane supplies. Good marketing technique. Are you planning to stock up on anything? Are you far enough inland that you don't get a lot of the nasty effects that the coastal areas can get from hurricanes? Or at least haven't to this point? Climate change can do some unexpected things. Our "lawn" is also getting fried, which isn't a bad thing since I am trying to eradicate it without chemicals right now anyway. One of my master gardening GFs and I are planning to turn it into low ground covers with a few plants. I'm thinking things like ajuga, creeping jenny, maybe a few types of creeping thyme and some low to the ground wildflowers. I would like to find a way to keep the wild violets and wild strawberries that I already have but that may not be possible. We have an outside chance of rain on Friday. Until then, I'm having to water the raised beds every day and the elderberries and blueberries every 3 days or so.
The map Linda posted last night looked like you might get some nasty weather last night, Liz. I hope it didn't happen. Do you have PT this week?
Becky, I keep forgetting tomorrow is Thursday. Good luck at your dotor's appointment. What time is it? Are you still planning to get your records and xrays and go elsewhere if there is a need for follow up? The way they've acted, I wouldn't blame you a bit.
I swam almost 800 yds this morning and the water was MUCH warmer than last week. I've only seen one fishing boat all day, so things have calmed down considerably since the weekend. We are expecting our 6th day in a row of 90+ temps, but only supposed to get to 89 tomorrow (big difference! LOL). I'm cooking green beans for Dale and black beans for me. I plan to make most of the black beans into burgers from a recipe they featured on a local news cooking segment. I couldn't believe they were featuring an oil-free vegan recipe. Osteo tomorrow and no massage. We'll see how I feel and if that has made any difference.

Status quo here. Went to GF’s for shower, use of the facilities and filled some water jugs. If no water tomorrow I might have to think about a motel near here. Iggy is in Houston. It was a direct flight and no problems. We got a little shower this morning but it is clouding over and might get rain and wind later. No timeline from city on when water will be restored. I wonder if we get a rebate in our water bill.
Typing on phone is no fun. Hope you all have a good day.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele I am glad your power didn't go off.I hope you were able to go to GF's to get a shower and hopefully get rid of your headache.
The pollen was so bad where we went out to lunch for Kenneth's birthday today it was blowing across the street. We just went to a local cafe and a friend who works at Walmart came in and he paid for both of our meals. With the wind and pollen I have a headache and my eyes are bothering me.There are tornado warnings for Dallas/Ft Worth but I don't think we are under a big risk for tornadoes but am hoping we get some rain out of this system between tonight and Friday.
Kathy I have been hearing about your extreme heat.I hope it cools off or rains soon for you.Our high for today has been 91.Stay cool.TX is having that same tax exempt weekend for hurricanes.
Karen My appointment is at 3:45 tomorrow but the first time I went to see him my appointment was like at 11:30 and we had to wait forever so I'm hoping it's not the same way tomorrow.I don't think I will ask for the x-rays because I won't be eligible for any more injections this year and it seems like every ortho surgeon wants their own x-rays so I will see what goes on next year.I know what you mean in the difference between 89 and 90 degrees.Yesterday it was 89 and today 91.Not much difference except for the wind and clouds don't make it feel quite as hot. There was a nice breeze when I walked this morning that felt pretty good.Scooter thinks it's too hot though so she's in cooling off under the AC.It thundered for awhile last night so she was more than happy to sleep inside.During good weather if there is a nice breeze she would rather sleep on her recliner in the yard b/c it's cooler than inside.
I have been trying to watch the weather channel and I don't know if it's the winds we have had every day for the last week but satellite keeps cutting in and out or we may have some trees blocking the dish on the roof. All the programs I have DVR'd have a little note saying not all parts of the program were recorded but there is very little interference on those.

change that pie recipe to half c flour
Scarey to see tornados where they used to never happen. Glad you are ok, Chele.
Not too warm yet today, but getting there. Micki got a shorter walk because the sun is hot on his back.Pavement ok,.
I was able to go an extra six hours before needing the 24 hr Allegra again (antihistamine), but still need it. Micki is off his med.
museum morning, then dashed home for AC spring maintenance check...hour later they called that our guy is stuck in a job that will take all aftenoon, so it is tomorrow. So DH goes to store and Costco. I am going to try a rhubarb upside down cake. Have given up on losing right now with enough to deal with, and he can taste some sweet and sour and needs cheering. But dinner will be crustless ham and cheese quiche. not going to go crazy!

Karen, our Publix sales don't start until Thursday, so I'll have to see if the organic veggies are on sale. I'll probably stock up on some batteries. Usually the stores put sales on top of the tax free items, so I'll see what they have. The only thing we don't get from the hurricanes that the coast gets is the storm surge. Charley did a huge amount of damage here in 2004 and I had to replace my roof after Matthew. We've lost power and other services during some of the storms. Trees coming down on houses and roads are one of the biggest hazards around here. I lost 3 trees after Charley, but they were small and didn't do any damage. DS lost her pool enclosure, roof, and fencing. There really isn't anywhere to hide on a peninsula! I'm not surprised that your water was warmer. Sounds like a good swim. Chele, I'm glad you were able to get a shower and I think a motel is a great idea if the services don't come back soon. Glad that Iggy's trip was uneventful. I would say doubtful on the water bill rebate, but your bill should be lower since you won't use as much. At least that's the way it works here. I hear you about typing on the phone. It's not easy when you're used to a tablet or keyboard. Hope everything is restored soon. Becky, hope all goes well with the shots. They're showing some thunderstorms in our forecast for next week. I just went out and increased my watering time for the sprinklers since tomorrow is one of my watering days. I had the side zones set really low since they usually don't seem to need that much, so increased those. I'll be paying whatever $$$ Chele saves on her water bill this month. Happy birthday to Kenneth!
Linda, I remember my dad mentioning that they used to have rhubarb pies when he was growing up, but I don't think I've ever had anything with rhubarb in it. Hope the cake turns out good.
Liz, hope you haven't been getting any of this crazy weather.

Happy birthday to Kenneth. Good luck on the shots, Becky.
Karen, I hope you have a stellar day at OS. I am glad things are almost back to normal at the lake.
Kathy, too hot 🥵 down your way. You’re right. The water bill should be lower.
Linda, I hope the cake turns out great and the allergies give you some relief.
Liz, hope you are safe and sane.
We have a trickle of water now. Pressure is very low. We are under a boil advisory and have been asked to conserve. I filled a couple of buckets in case we lose pressure again. I still have bottled water for drinking and the water from GF’s house. I still haven’t done the dishes. I hope I can do those tomorrow. Cable and WiFi are still out. I have shows on DVR I can watch though. I unearthed an old radio that was in the garage. It was my grandfather’s. It still works. Things could be worse . I am grateful we came out of it unscathed. I think the weather service confirmed 11 tornados touched down in the area on Monday night.
