Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning all,
Just came back from my morning walk. Overcast today, looks like it could start raining any minute.
Ruth - glad you can start scheduling your PT. I’m sure you will feel improvement as the sessions progress.
Dottie - we’re having a rainy week again, but the weekend looks promising. Sorry to hear about the fraudulent credit card purchasing . That happened to my DB after their vacation a few years back.
Putting in my order for more of the meal prep entrees. They are very good, definitely worth it. Will be checking out a place my SIL recommended. It’s near my ENT and I’m going there next week anyway. Just so much more convenient to take to work. When I work later in the afternoon, I cook for myself, it’s just the early days that I use the prep meals for.
Meeting went well in work yesterday. A lot of issues were brought up, looks like they might actually hire someone to help out, there’s definitely a gap in coverage. GM brought up my name several times, very positive comments about our meeting last week. I still think we’ll spend more time on the phone than neede, but we’re going in the right direction.
Enjoy your day

Good morning all. Have you ever forgotten what day it is? Or is it only me??? After we got back with Mara and she was in bed for a nap I asked DH if I could run to a garage sale I had seen online. I left w/o realizing it’s only Wednesday and all the local sales start on Thursday. So tomorrow I will try to get up early and maybe hit it before Mara wakes up.
We didn’t set an alarm this morning because we weren’t supposed to get Mara until about noon. About 8:05 my cell phone started singing so I got up and came out and answered it. Was the head guy from the company we contacted about remodeling our bathroom. He called yesterday afternoon when we were in Costco and my phone cut out. Then when we got home I forgot to call him back. He is coming next Tuesday morning to look at the bathroom, take measurements and help us decide on best use of space and all. Then he’ll get back to us with an estimate. I have saved a lot of pictures on Pinterest and on my iPad to show him what we have in mind. We will make it handicap accessible for the most part and it will include grab bars.
When I looked at my phone I had a message from DIL saying Mara got up at 7:00 and she asked if we could come get her this morning so DIL could go back to bed for a while before she has to work 12 hours. So about 9:30 we picked up Mara and brought her here. Unfortunately she went to sleep in the car about 10 min before we got home and that’s it for nap for a while. But she needs an afternoon nap anyway because we are going with Stan to his pre-op physical and then on to Sawyer’s dance recital. She’s only been doing it for like 6 weeks so DD doesn’t expect much. Told her how long we stay depends on Mara’s behavior and tolerance.
Joy, how wonderful your meeting went so well. And that they are going to try to hire someone to help with phones. It seems like a lot they want you to ask tho! Unnecessary repetition for the caller. Did you find out if you can get off in Sept. to go to that play?
Sounds like Cathy & Jody are having a wonderful visit. Jody leaves on Friday morning. I so wonder how Jill and her DH and her DS are doing! Wish she’d stop in. I may try to contact her again and see if she responds.
Dottie, hope you got the credit card thing all straightened out. I’m glad the companies check on these things.
Got Mara up since she clearly wasn’t going to nap right now. She’s in the high chair eating cheese cubes and tiny pieces of apple. She has discovered she LOVES apple since she has a few teeth to chew on it. Need to get her down and dressed. She’s wearing a nightgown with a pair of leggings. Mommy said she threw a fit when they tried to take off her nightie with the monkeys on it!
More later!!!

Joyce, glad that the meeting went okay yesterday. Yea for getting a little extra help in the office. Maybe as time goes on you won’t have to waste so much time on the phone. Good job on getting the walk in early.
Ruth, I often forget what day it is. Hope you like the contractor and the price is within your budget. Smart to make it handicap accessible while doing the remodel. Hope Mara settles down for an afternoon nap. I guess I missed that Stan is having more surgery. What will it be for? Hope it all goes OK. Have fun at Sawyer’s dance recital. We are heading up to watch DGD in her first recital on Saturday. She looks cute in her outfit but doesn’t really know the whole dance. We will be staying overnight at DSs house and watching the kids so DS and DDIL can have a date night. To solve the clothes problem for Mara why don’t you just send her home in the outfit they send her in and keep everything else at your house.
Crazy day weather wise here. It was 48 when we got up this morning and supposed to be in the mid 60s by late afternoon. They are also predicting thunderstorms, just what we need – more rain. Actually we are OK compared to many parts of the country where there is terrible flooding and farmers/ranchers can’t plant or get their animals in the right field. The new credit cards already came and I activated them so we are all set. Glad that they were so quick, although we have several other credit cards that we can use.

Dottie, the contractor is the same one who did our kitchen. They are not cheap, but they give you a timeline and they really stick to it. Their people are all wonderful to work with and they do a great job. My biggest complaint last time was they wanted to start about 7:30 am and (1) I was 2 weeks out from a knee replacement; and (2) we all know I am NOT a morning person. Either they will do the remodel or we won’t do it, and will just do a couple minor things.
Stan is having a droopy eye lid repaired. He had them both done back 6 or so years ago, maybe more. We don’t remember. Anyway, they told us at that time that it was possible one or both might need re-doing down the line and the one does. It has gotten to the point that it is interfering with his sight. He inherited the condition from his DM, and our girls both have issues with it.
Not sure why I thought Sawyer’s recital was for dance. It was gymnastics. DH thought gymnastics but I was all wrong!!! She’s going to take gymnastics and tennis and swimming this summer. And go to Y camp for a week with Harper. Harper is going to a week at the Raptor Center at the U of M. Kid is nutty about raptors. Recital was ok. They still don’t do much at this level and they kept inserting some of the older more talented gymnasts between the beginning groups. We left after Sawyer was done because we had Mara there and she was getting antsy. Tired of being held and wanting to run around and we couldn’t let her do that!!!
DS did explain his frustration yesterday with the clothes issue. I had sent him an email he didn’t get and he kept asking and i didn’t understand that he hadn’t gotten it. And he was having a really bad day at work yesterday. I often do send her home in what clothes they have sent her in, but so often it’s pj’s and if they get her back early afternoon or so I don’t want to put her in pj’s. I have a few summer outfits that I’m going to use and if I get them back, fine, if not that’s fine too. Things I picked up at a garage sale. Going to see how that works.
Ok, off to get a shower and then I want to do my nails. I just got the gel nail polish all off, and i have some stuff to put on them that is supposed to strengthen them. Tomorrow I have a massage, followed by a pedicure. And a few garage sales I want to hit in the morning since it really will be Thursday.
