This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

GM Cats. How is everyone? Same old here. I've been using my phone to track, which is great, but I noticed recently with the exception of my spinach in the am, sometimes I can go the rest of the day without vegetables and even that oil. So today I'm going to take the time to use pen and paper--not to track, but to roughly map out my day to ensure I'm getting all those free point goodies eaten!
I'm going to see about getting new running shoes. I think mine aren't the right fit, as I am developing a callous on the same toe on both feet! Same spot, really! I hope the specialty store can help.
Melinda, I read an article this am about the goodies in the Oscar bags they give out. One of the items was a pelvic floor tracker. I remember it was $199, look for the article and check it out on your own.
I'll try and check back later. Have a good one!

Aloha Frieda, and all who follow!
Well, the wicked never rest it would seem. Had to take Phil to the vet yesterday because he was obviously in pain. Turns out the poor little guy has an inflamed, calcified disk in his lower back. I've got some pain and anti-inflammatory meds for him. He couldn't go on our daily walk today, which really upset him. I think he will be ready again tomorrow.
Frieda, I like hearing the bounce in your voice again. I hope the specialty store can help with the running shoes. DH and I talk all the time about how the right shoes make all the difference.
Martha, I'm sorry to hear about the rejection. I remember how disheartening my job search was a few years ago, and before that. It just sucks, quite frankly. I like Frieda's idea of a temp agency. Is that an option?
Linda, I'm so glad you could stop by!! I wanted to thank you for your thought about XH and how he is becoming a copycat. That thought has helped quite a bit.
Melinda, I'm sorry about the horrible reaction to the soup. Are you still avoiding gluten as well?
Gosh, I know there is more, but I am drawing a blank. Hugs to all!!!

woot woot is right! Glad it's Wednesday.
MCAT- that is terrible about Phil. I hope the meds help him.
Martha- sorry about the rejection. They missed out getting a bright new employee. Hang in there.
My issues aren't so much with gluten but what is in (fructose) a lot of products that contain gluten. So I have to read labels. I'm better at it than I was. I have found that I'm ok with regular tortillas. I avoid eating too much bread in general. My problem is that I try and add in foods to see if I can tolerate them and when I can't I have to deal with it for a few days. The very good news is that I know what those foods are. Before I didn't know if it was gluten, dairy, red meat or fish. It was a constant mystery. Now I know it's the fructose. There are still plenty of fruits & veggies to choose from so that is nice. I like the convenience of certain foods but they are simply not worth it. My latest is grits. I can get the energy from the carbs without an issues at all. I usually have that for breakfast with milk & cinnamon. I like gf pastas because they are easier to digest. Same with lactose free milk. I'm still healing from all the years of injury. I'm doing better in restaurants too. I know I can tolerate very small amounts of things so for example if I get served asparagus I know I can tolerate 3 stalks. For baby carrots I can have 3. For pasta I can have 1 cup only. It's a FODMAP diet. It helps but it's not foolproof that is for sure.
I have been thinking back to my WW days & know why it worked so well for me. I didn't eat or drink as much. Since my choices are so limited now I find I have a little of this & a little of that. Well it all adds up. My goal has been to try & get a handle on what I can eat and then I can start tracking again. I was so sick for so long. I tried to get "healthier" by eating more fruit and fiber and all I did was create a nightmare for myself.
Oh well. enough of that about my life. I'm just glad I don't have an eating disorder. lol
Have a super day ladies!

Hello, ladies, Checking in from too-many-jobs central! We're a few days away from tech rehearsals for my current project. It's slowly taking shape. I got an offer yesterday for a much bigger profile project in the fall, so yay for progress. Just wrote my semi-monthly knock-on-the-door emails to a couple wardens in the area. Frieda, thinking about you. Any news on the Rialto? MCAT, sorry to hear about the pup. I have a similar problem in my back, so I feel Phil's pain. Melinda, what a lot of work for you to iterate out what works for you. You have such a good attitude about it.

Evening chat. Hello to our Georgia Peach! Long time no see. I hope you are well.
Mcat: Funny you should say that about the bounce in my voice. Well that left the building and I've been in tears most of the day. The couple that have been basically my parents ever since I met them 18 years ago have made the unsaid statement that blood is thicker than water. Turning the perpetrator into the victim and the victim into something else. It's terrible. I'm out of time. I'll be back tomorrow.

Where did the time go? I am looking at temp to hire positions. Lots of staffing agencies to choose from here. Went to a workshop this morning and then to pick up some bread for DH (it was on sale). Oh darn, apparel was marked waay down. Bought myself a pair of pants and a dress. Both perfect for wearing to work. Looked at sneakers and tried what I thought was my size - 10. My big toe was hitting the front. I went to the men's section and found one that fit right. Oh, and they were $10/off too. When I was cleaning my spare room, found another pedometer. So far, I like the just found one better. Almost half of room size has been cleaned. The other half will take much longer. Mini goal is to take care of one box completely per day. Lots of papers to go thru. Blech. One load of clothes (jeans) dried while I was gone. Need to get another done. Tomorrow, I will be having lunch with friend who just got hired. I'll be picking her brain. Glad to see some MIA's returning to posting. Hugs to all~
