Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good afternoon all. Ladies, I had an “AH HA” moment! I do NOT need anything from any garage sale being held today!! Not Mara clothes or toys, nor anything for my house! I’m trying to get rid of all of the above, not adding to it! This is an important revaluation in my decluttering life!!!!!! I’m going to run to the bank right before my appts to cash a check and try not to hit any garage sales on the way!!! I have a massage, followed by a pedicure this afternoon, so I need some tip $$. I much prefer to give my tips directly to whomever has earned it, without putting it on a credit card where they have to wait for it with their regular checks and they have to pay taxes out of it. Several have told me how much they appreciate the cash.
The gentleman who is buying the elliptical contacted me this morning about coming over with help at 4 pm Friday. Great news! I’m still checking to see if DSIL can come then to be those extra hands if needed! We thought it would be early afternoon, unfortunately 4 is when the girls are done with school and all. We’ll have to wait and see since I have not heard back from DD.
it’s to be 81 later this afternoon. Hoping to get in a walk either before or after dinner. And some swing time and backyard play time for Mara. She loves it outdoors. We might get rain tonight or tomorrow, but they are saying 87 here tomorrow. That would be interesting. We haven’t opened up the house so maybe it will cool enough with fans going that we won’t have to turn on the AC yet.
DS Carol had her scans yesterday. Not sure when she gets the results. I forgot to ask her. She hopes to be starting chemo again next Tuesday. Prayers appreciated for that very thing! She wasn’t real happy with getting the scans done this time. They sent her to one of those free standing places that doesn’t have a doctor on site. And they didn’t give her the usual instructions before hand for things like “no bra”, and when to breath in or exhale. Thankfully she’s been thru this a few times and knew the procedures. Just praying for good results.
ok, need to check on laundry. And do a couple things before I get ready to leave. Have a great day all. Will check in later tonight.

Joyce, thanks for the start-up. Hope you are having a good day.
Ruth, hope everything works out and you are happy with the contractors price and timeline. Nice that they stick with a timeline – that is one of the major complaints people have with contractors. Hope Stan does OK with the eyelift. It does run in families. My mom had it done, besides me my one sister and my brother had it done. It really does interfere with eyesight. Hope Carol hears good results from her scan, prayers continue. We noticed when we went to Hawaii that almost everyone left their tips in cash and so that was what Bill and I did also. Good job on realizing that you don’t need anymore things in your place, one of the steps to decluttering. Don’t buy it if you don’t need it. That is a step I really try to work on.
I had a follow-up appointment with my ophthalmologist this morning. The pressure in my eyes has been increasing. I was there in December and she wanted to see me in 4 months. The week I scheduled the appointment for was the week I was at DSs house to help out so I had to reschedule. My pressure increased more than she wanted it to. My cataracts have also gotten worse, I knew that because my vision is not what it used to be. I have known about the cataracts for about 8 or 9 years but they were real slow growing. I start today on drops for glaucoma and see the doctor the beginning of July. Both the doctor and her tech assured me that glaucoma no longer means blindness when caught early (like mine is). It is treatable and that is the important thing. The doctor feels I will need the cataracts taken care of in next year but will know more after my next visit. It rained over an inch yesterday and my garden is too wet to finish planting. The high today will be in the mid 60s and no sun. I have finished planting all of the flower pots and boxes but need to wait till the garden isn’t so wet to actually finish planting the vegetable plants.
