Good Morning Chicks and thanks for your wishes during the week.
Chele - any luck with getting the cable or WIFI back yet? How are the sinuses doing with all the changes in the weather? What time did Iggy finally get home? So happy to know that you weren't affected any worse; have had you in my thoughts. St. Crazy has been same; so much to do in a short week. Still at 90+ occupancy and now we're in mock federal survey mode which has everyone going bonkers. Add some performance reviews that are all due on Monday with some crappy weather and it's been an interesting week. Hope you and Iggy are able to get out today and do something fun. The denim capris as Kathy said certainly sound cute!
Kathy - how is DM doing? Any more bear visits lately? We had heavy rain and some thunder storms then cooler weather and back up in heat again. I think we're going to be in the mid to high 70s for the next few days but are expecting rain later in the day and overnight for this weekend. Gary needs to get his HVAC pal out to check the unit just to make sure there are no issues. I can handle a cold house but NOT a hot house!
Linda - sounds like you did well on the AC parts you bought. I hope they are able to identify something that is causing Bob's issues with taste with the CT. How are your knees doing? How is Micki with the heat back again?
Becky - you surely did go through the ringer with getting those shots and dealing with that practice! I'm glad you're not pushing the knees right now; if they hurt remember not to push them! It will definitely take several weeks for the shots to have a noticeable affect. I just hope you don't have too much pain and discomfort in the meantime. Happy Belated Birthday to Kenneth! My ankle is a painful mess. I am now in an unna boot (triple layered compression wrap that starts at the knew and covers the foot up to the toes). The vascular surgeon debrided the wound yesterday and I about came out of my skin it was so painful. She has scheduled me for a new injection procedure on the 11th which we hope will decrease the veins pooling blood in my lower leg and ankle.
Karen - how are the feets doing? That was a great price on those high end running shoes and I hope they come soon and feel good! Congrats on the abs at Osteo! I did go to PT this week but cancelled yesterday as I knew I had the vascular appointment in the morning. They did an ultrasound of the leg before I saw the doctor and I think one of the issues with the longer wait to see her was some nimnod put me down as a new patient. The doctor walked in and said "I know you", I said yes you do, you did the procedure on my right leg. I think she and her assistant were a bit embarrassed and upset that the mistake was made. I will see her again on Tuesday to have the unna boot changed. I have orders for the weekend to lay low and elevate the leg high over my heart. Had to find a shoe that would fit the bandaging but did finally find one. That was a bit risky you swimming in the lake with wind gusts that high! The pups are better now; Wally had me up at 1:am on Wed. and Thurs. which always does wonders for my sleep pattern. Long days and stress seem to be the norm. They will all go bonkers if the mock surveyors are there this coming Monday. The enterprise pays former federal surveyors to come in and do a full blown mock survey in anticipation of the real one. Add to that the rest of the new building construction for the women's center going on and an alleged 50M budget gap and the nuts are coming out of the woodwork!
Alright dear ladies, I have been sitting too long and need to make my coffee and go elevate. Have a safe and lovely Sat. Ciao for now~

Thanks for the start Liz.A mock federal survey is all you need on top of a crazy busy week. Thanks for the bday wishes for Kenneth. The knees are still sore and tender at the injection points but I find I can walk about 10 min at a time this morning on our property and it wasn't too bad.I'm sorry your ankle procedure was so painful.Pls rest it this weekend.
We will leave in about 30 minutes for Taylor so waving to all.Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Liz, thanks for the start and good to hear from you! Pretty flower. I'm the same on being able to handle a cold house, but not a hot one. That's the worst! DM is doing fine, but I'll be glad when she has the appointment to get new hearing aids. I'm sure she'll be glad to get them too. Someone in the neighborhood just to the north of the university took the picture in my avatar and this is probably the bear that DN and DM saw. He's pretty, but I wouldn't want to run into him on foot! There were some thunderstorms in the area yesterday, but we barely got a drop. At least it's starting to show the pattern where it clouds up in the afternoon. I think we'll get some rain soon. It's been over 15 days! Sorry to hear about the issues with your ankle and that it was so painful. Are you going to be able to stay home at all to let it heal? I hate that you're dealing with so much stress there. Hope you at least get some relaxation time in this weekend and keep that leg elevated!
Becky, hope you enjoy your visit to Taylor.
Chele, any services back yet? I hope you and Iggy are doing something fun today.
Karen, did ya ken that it's World Outlander Day! Dinna fash if you didn't know. I may have to watch a DVD in its honor since I don't have Starz at the moment.
Linda, hope all goes well with the heat pump installations and it will be nice to have them under warranty.

Thanks for the start, Liz. OUCH!! on the debridement! Good thing you were able to find a shoe large enough to go over the bandage, as that is not a small bandate. I guess you'll be laying down a lot today in order to keep that leg properly elevated. I'm surprised they didn't do something to numb the potential pain like they do for burn patients. At least you know why it took so long to get the appointment. Got to wonder about their medical records system. I probably would have canceled PT, too, after the morning you had. Might not have been a lot they could have done with you anyway. Feets are doing ok. Scars are still a little tender but being able to move all 10 toes is progress. I don't think I would freak so much on a mock visit but if they do, maybe it will settle them a bit for the real one(RIGHT!). I kind of wondered about the shortfall being alleged and giving people something to freak about. Organizations like yours tend to keep things stirred up and apparently like to keep everyone on edge.
Linda, what brand of heat pumps did you end up getting? Nice that you will be able to get them installed so quickly, given that we know summer is coming and it will probably be a hot one. Does Bob have his CT scheduled yet?
Did Iggy get back ok, Chele? I'll bet he was tired. Had he been to Houston previously? Did you visit the farmers today? What's the status of your services? Do you still have a boil advisory in effect? I never heard the estimated damages from all the tornadoes.
Kathy, I'm glad you weren't the one who took your avatar photo. That's a good sized bear. You're probably right about it being the same one. Any chance it also may be the same one your DS saw on her run? Sorry you weren't lucky enough to get any rain. There's a World Outlander Day? Cha robh fios agam! Looks like having Starz wouldn't be helpful for you, as they do't seem to have any episodes being shown today. Guess they missed an opportunity.
How was lunch with your friends, Becky? Did you do any walking today? I guess it will be a while before you get any relief from the shots.
Arya had me up about 4:45 for a P trip and she never did settle back down. Dale got up with her about 6 and she had the runs and has had a couple of small indoor accidents, which is really unusual for her. When I took her out, I realized that my left ear was bothering me and I had some nasal stuffiness. Dale had to get the oil changed in the truck so he picked me up some Similasan ear drops. So we're laying low today. I did take the kayak out but only for about half an hour. As I was getting ready to get into the boat, I slipped on the rocks (had my Chacos on so shouldn't have been an problem) and fell on my tush. Bruised but not broken. It's sore, however. Another good reason to lay low.

Karen, forgot to mention that the blue bear screen I was talking about was that error page ProBoards puts up sometimes with the blue bear saying they're having difficulties. I saw it right after I lost my post. Too bad that Starz missed the opportunity to promote the Outlander day. They have all the episodes on demand, but I know that doesn't work for you. Wow on the fall on your tush and glad it wasn't worse. I've had a couple of falls like that and I know it can be sore. One was off of a horse and the other was at Rainbow Falls. Those rocks are slippery! Hope it heals quickly and that is a good reason to lay low. Hope Arya is doing okay. Have you used the Similasan drops before? I've seen them and wondered if they were any good. I have used some of their eye drops and they were soothing.

Kathy, oh THAT blue bear screen. I don't get that much, but tend to get the angry looking guy chastizing me for using an ad blocker (I just ignore him). It was kind of weird on the fall because I had no problem with the same rocks yesterday. It really does hurt, but it's below my tailbone, so I know it has to be a bruise. Difficult to get comfortable though. Arya's system seems to have emptied itself but she has eaten 2 meals since the problem began, so it hasn't affected her appetite. She's been a happy girl, bouncing around and wagging her tail like she usually does. I have used the Similasan ear drops before and I like them. I've probably used them 3 times today and the ear is doing a lot better. I recommend them. I was wondering the same thing about the eye drops, so you answered that question for me.

Wow Liz. Take care of you!
Nothing like a dog who gets up with the sun.Fortunately, DZh does the morning walk and breakfast, then Micki goes into morning nap mode.
Chele, internet yet?
We got TWO. Day and Night systems...well rated small western division of Carrier. We were luck before that we could keep the attic part with a new coil, but both of those have just about died with 100 coming this week. They are over 3000each to replace and warranty is only one year. Oneis freon, which you cannot buy anymore and adding freon to a was 800 at discount years ago! Unfortunately that made it more down the road cost efficient to buy two complete systems, ground and attic. Not happy here. That is not something we can just write a check for though. Not something you can survive without...

Kathy I hope you get some rain soon.We were watching Weather Nation and the forecaster just said for the south he was predicting hot and steamy. He certainly has that right. That is one big bear in your avatar. We did enjoy lunch in Taylor thanks.
Karen Lunch was good.I ate healthy for the most part but did have a small dish of soft serve ice cream for dessert. It was hot and humid and hit the spot.I was surprised Kenneth even wanted to eat dinner after all the dessert he had.We did have a smaller portion than usual. It should take the shots around 5 weeks to totally work I think.I got in 2 short 10 min walks walking up to the road gate and back twice each time. Then after we got home I decided to walk on the road up to our closest neighbor's house to test out the knees. It wasn't too bad.It was hot as heck but it ended up taking 12 minutes there and back and the Garmin registered it as 1/2 mile from our yard gate.I will probably continue the short walks but take more than one.I want to let them heal more before I go back to using the bike.I figure even getting in 30 min a day even if it takes me 3 times to do it is better than no exercise at all.I'm sorry you fell and I hope you feel better soon.Does Arya seem to have an aversion to any of her food that she seems to get sick from?It amazes me how dogs can have the runs or throw up and then feel fine right after. At least that is how Scooter is.I am surprised she is wanting to stay in the yard so much with the heat. She does spend a lot of time under the porch where it's cooler if she gets too hot.The flies are so bad and she loves to snap at them outside and inside for that matter.I haven't seen her catch one yet.LOL.
Kathy I was having trouble with the ProBoards yesterday afternoon.
Linda It's good you will have your heat pumps installed so soon.
Chele I hope you get water and services restored soon.

Still coming to you from my teeny tiny phone. It is not looking good for cable and WiFi to be restored soon. We went downtown to 2nd St Market and saw hanging wires on one part of our route. Although we have underground cables the ones that feed us are above ground. I have tried Kathyâs suggestion to get a few TV stations but it was not successful. Our neighbor with satellite are much better off. I have the TV app on my phone but without WiFi you canât get local channels.
Karen, a dollar figure has not been assigned to the damage yet. We went to an area near a mall and it was worse than we thought. I was supposed to have glaucoma tests done in that area tomorrow but the building is trashed and I will have to call my local office to find an alternative. The poor people who have had their homes damaged or destroyed are now having to deal with looters. Anyway how is the backside today? I fell on my tailbone on the ice one year and it took months to feel right. I had an X-ray and it wasnât broken. I hope yours heals faster. Is Arya still feeling better?
Linda, I hope you can get an interest free loan for your new equipment like we did. How is Bob doing? When does he have his CT scan? Does your art class start tomorrow?
Kathy, that is a good looking bear. I prefer to admire nature from afar and I will only pet cats and dogs. I hope DM âs hearing aid is fixed. My almost deaf DM would not wear them and we had to shout at her the last couple of years. I saw that Outlander was streaming on Netflix not that I am going to watch on a phone.
Liz, I hope you kept that leg up yesterday. I hate to hear that it was so painful. St Crazy likes to keep things hopping, donât they? I hope you donât have the mock survey tomorrow so you can have a break. The sinuses were a mess last week with all the storms and rain. We had another storm last night. It is cool here this morning on the patio. I wiped the furniture dry and am listening to the birds.
Lunch out sounded nice, Becky. I have read that exercise in 10 minute intervals can be just as effective as a full 30 minute workout. Iggy said he only saw rain on Friday in Houston but he was indoors a lot
Iggy got home at 11 pm Friday night and went straight to bed. We found some nice produce at the market but the Bread Man wasnât there. His facility lost power for 3 days so he didnât have enough product. We went to gourmet store and got bagels then took a tour of the area. Thatâs when we saw the damage was worse than we imagined. We did have a couple of chuckles during our tour. A man dressed as George Washington carrying a flag crossed the street while we were stoped at a light and saluted US. I felt like I was back in NY. We passed a public golf course and saw a man kick his ball into a more advantageous position. Iggy rolled down the window and yelled âCheater!â To quote the Beatles âWhat a long, strange trip itâs been.â

Chele, sorry you weren't able to get any local channels. You'd probably need to add an antenna which may be more trouble than it's worth. Seeing bears from a distance is fun. Seeing them on the front lawn not so much. LOL on George Washington and the golf cheater! The golfer didn't have orange hair, did he? Sorry to hear that there's more damage than you thought, but it's good you were able to get out and support some of the local businesses. Looters are the lowest of the low and I hope the police can keep them under control. Becky, glad you enjoyed the lunch. There have been several new housing developments built in this area over the past 2 or 3 years, so the bears have been displaced from all that forest land. It seems like the sightings are more and more frequent, so it is a bit scary. We finally got a shower yesterday, so I think the dry spell is starting to end. Karen, hope you're not too sore today.
Linda, that's good that you'll get the heat pumps before the real heat starts.
Liz, hope you have that leg up and are relaxing today.

Linda, I guess you better not change your mind about the AC units. LOL Hope the installation goes smoothly tomorrow and you have a coolish morning so you won't miss the time the AC is non-functioning. It amazes me when an appliance can be that expensive and only have a one-year warranty. Talk about no pride or failth in their product!
Does your Garmin seem pretty accurate to what you think mileage is, Becky? I think I would give the bike a rest for a few days, too, given the problems you had. It's good that walking seems to be ok. I have also heard about 3 times 10 minutes being just as effective as 30 minutes. Arya is somewhat of a picky eater but I don't know that anything has made her sick. Strawberries don't seem to agree with her but she wants to eat them anyway. She doesn't like blueberries. So far as treats, she likes the Royal Canin dental as a treat (FM's fault) and likes the Pet Meds Gourmet Biscuits. She'll eat a Milkbone if there isn't anything else available. I bought an assortment of organic treats right before we adopted her and she didn't like any of them so I donated them to the shelter. I think she ate grass or some other weed Friday and that caused her issue. I'm happy report that her plumbing is working normally now. I know what you mean about how quickly they seem to recover from an upset. We should be that lucky.
Chele, you're becoming a whiz on that phone! Sorry the cable and WiFi are so slow coming back but, given what you saw yesterday, I can understand it. The underground cables don't mean much if they are above ground further up the line. Can you go on your phone and catch a local newscast? A lot of ours stream those live. I would guess the only problem the satellite TV neighbors would have is if their dish got bumped off the SW heading. Good thing you found out your glaucoma test place won't be open on Monday before you made the trip. That's awful about the looters. I never understood how people think that is ok to do. Don't blame Iggy for hitting the sack as soon as he got home from his trip. That's a long day. I also wondered if the golfer had orange hair. Long, strange trip indeed.
Not too sore, Kathy, but I feel better standing than sitting. Yes, not good to see a bear in your front yard. Yay! on your shower. We had a brief one a little while ago but it was just long enough to say "it's raining". What's on your agenda for the coming week?
Liz, how's the leg? Have you been behaving? How are your 4-legged nurses doing?
Dale went for a run in the mountains then swung by Papa Murphy's on his way home to pick up an order I placed online. I got a thin crust with sauce and veggies and no cheese. We'll see how it is. The pizza person thought it was a mistake that I hadn't ordered cheese and said she had never made a pizza without cheese. So I'm glad I gave her a new experience. I went out and planted the rest of the veggies I am growing from seed. I transplanted sunflowers, zucchini, cukes, jalapenos, and 4 varieties of tomatoes The last 2 aren't in the ground yet as they need to get a little larger. I plan to try to bush grow the tomatoes. So, instead of planing one plant in a hole, I will plant 3 or 4 and see if I can get more stability and/or a better yield. Just an experiment and it might fall on its face. But maybe I'll start a new trend. Time to put the pizza in the oven Gotta run!

Chele I'm sorry it's not looking good for cable and wifi anytime soon.I hope you find an alternative to your glaucoma appointment tomorrow. We haven't had any more rain but it was raining in Dallas yesterday. We may get something from the gulf around the middle of the week. It's 91 here now and with the humidity it feels like 103.
Kathy I'm glad you finally got a shower.Hopefully you will get more rain now.
Karen Yes the mileage is accurate on the Vivofit 4.It seems more accurate with steps too than my Fitbit was. This morning before it got really hot I was able to walk 20 minutes and this afternoon I got in 30 minutes.I think I will start limiting it to just 30 min a day even after my knees heal.If she ate really green grass it could be what made Arya sick. Our vet said it's mostly the spring raintime grass that made Scooter sick. When it was raining all the time with the hole in our porch roof the rain water collects in baskets we have on there so Kenneth finally got rid of all of that and now she has to drink fresh water out of her bucket in the yard or in the house.
Waves to Liz and Linda.
