WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C97D20, 25 points, 4 water, 1269 calories
Walked to and from clubhouse, short walk with friend after pool, really long walk alone late afternoon.
Today I goofed. Forgot to plan root beer float so planned 23 points and 1190 calories became 25 points and 1269 calories. Other than that it was another perfecto week except for the isolated SF blueberry muffin.

33 points 1857 calories 46 APs
26 of those points were eaten for dinner at around 8:00, after all that activity. I packed a Trader Joe’s chia bar and Balance bar on my bike ride but was never hungry. I enjoyed a container of brownie batter Chilly Cow ice cream for dessert. So, so good.
Nancy, the cherry juice helps with your arthritis, correct? Another wonderful week in the books for you! I haven’t heard of that bike ride, but we have a similar one sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic. Did DS have his surgery?

I worked all day today in the School Store - Alumni weekend. It was a nice change of pace from the Business Office. The day went fast since we were busy and got to chat with the Alumni’s and meet their families. For lunch they had a BBQ, burgers, hotdogs, sausage and the impossible burger (plant based). So I figured the impossible burger on a plate over salad was my best choice. I just looked it up - the burger was 8 points! I was really surprised - I know it was still the healthiest but I was thinking around 4 points...It was very good and very close tasting to a real burger but don’t think I would buy them...too pointy...lol
Nancy, even with counting your root beer float - Great Day!!! I haven’t looked for the mini musketeers, I’ve been having one frozen dark chocolate kiss instead. I think there out more around Halloween... Jan, the amount of activity you get just blows my mind....just wondering, how long does a 40 mile bike ride take?? Cindy and Kathy, love seeing your post!! Kathy, great plan - safe travels and do the best you can!!
