Weird weather! We don't usually have rain between Easter and late autumn-winter but did have some light rain and even thunder yesterday and the clouds are lingering today. I can hear the birds singing outside and they seem happy with the cooler weather. I am caught up with reading through the 11th of this month but hope to get the next two (at least) read before my daughter arrives. I also have books I need to read or I will get booted off the ARC team so...might have to send my daughter off with my husband a few hours at a time to READ!
I ran water through the drains in the basement yesterday and in on I heard a snake or rodent bumping its head against the drain covers (weighted after rats came in in the past) but since it was not a LOT of water or on long am sure whatever was in there was fine. Maybe I should have let it run longer and flushed the varmint out? Ah well.
Hubby is off to buy medicine and see people and pick up produce. I hope he finds some tomatoes and something green and something other than the one green pepper, half of a cabbage from the garden and a few carrots that we have in the frig!
My plan is to finish the two books today (if I can) and then start in on the cleaning for my daughter's visit tomorrow. It will get tidied and the books will get read!
CHERRY: Wise not to plant if bad weather is predicted. Hubby planted some things a bit ago and we had hail...they did not like that at all!
LYNN: Thank you for telling us about the meeting topic. I hate losing my posts!
BEVERLY: Perhaps your groundhog has a secret "friend" nearby and they get together for dates? My guess is that if it was a female the babies would have been seen by now. Your badger may have a LOT of female friends in the neighborhood...who knows? I remember a LOT of zucchini and buying cookbooks that were dedicated to Zucchini...hundreds of recipes for the stuff but not many that I actually tried....wonder if hubby planted any this year?
PAM: With my hair short I find that it feels "long" quicker than when it IS long...duh! I do enjoy going in and having my hair washed and cut...not sure why...it just seems to feel good and a bit like being pampered.

Good morning. We got about .37 of rain yesterday, not a lot, but better than nothing and no thunderstorms. Today it is nice and sunny, so far. I'll be finishing my garden today, and hopefully getting all my flowers set in pots. My grandson has to work today, but he will come out tomorrow and we'll get the fence around my garden.
Yesterday was my oldest son's 60th birthday. Makes me think I'm getting old, but then I guess I probably am. I'll be 81 next month. It doesn't seem possible we're all getting to these milestones. He isn't here to celebrate his birthday, as he is on vacation in Louisiana.
Have a nice day, beaches.

Good morning friends,
Another rainy day here, this may be the last one for a while.
We are about to go out to brunch with BIL & DIL in a bit. We have found a little diner that serves omelets one at the time, fresh off the grill! I usually get the veggie omelet with 1/2 the reg. amount of cheese. The place is run by a very sweet little lady from El Salvador. She makes everything fresh when it is ordered.
Cherry, getting older catches up with us fast! I thought it would take longer! I will turn 74 on Tuesday. I can't believe it. My oldest son is 54! Seems like yesterday, he was a sweet, chubby, baby.
Who knows, Mr Groundhog, may have girlfriends all over the neighborhood! He is the only one that I ever see, I always recognize him because he is so big. He is about the same size as my dog (the same color too). Sometimes, I see him laying in the yard & I think it is the dog!! Jet, the dog, is a very overweight dachshund. He is so funny, he really loves us & we love him. He is always dieting along with me. I have managed to get a couple of #'s off him in the last couple of months, I have been feeding him veggies mixed in with his food. He is fond of carrots & broccoli.
Great Sunday everyone!

Good morning! We did some planting this morning. We went to Home Depot after dinner last evening and we picked up the healthiest flowers we could find. There weren't too many. At least we planted flowers in my front window boxes. They look pretty in all yellow. I can't even pronounce the name of the flowers. They are sort of wavy and yellow.
I have more laundry to finish and will read a bit.
I have to get my medicare straightened out. They are still saying that my other insurance is primary and it isn't any more...thus the mix up. I guess I have to call Medicare...
Have a wonderful day all!

Busy morning. After church dh and I went to downtown where the farmers market has reopened. After breakfast at our favorite coffee shop, we headed around the corner to the market. We found cherries, apricots, plucots, apples, tangerines, and cherry tomatoes. I’m excited to plan meals and enjoy snacks. I got in lots of steps between the market and the grocery store, and I’ve remembered to keep hydrating. I’m continuing to aim for blue. Hoping each of you has a great day and keep smiling.
