WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C98D2, 33 points, 10 more rollovers to make up, 8 water, 1696 calories
Just the treadmill today. Way out of the box this evening. Getting a little sloppy this week. Over and above my plan today as follows: 1/2 cup kix, 5 petit toast, 1 LC cheese, 2 mini famous amos cookies, pretzel rod, 1 slice 647 with 1/2T b&b and 1 slice ff cheese, 2 kedem tea biscuits, single serve pirate's booty, root beer float. That's 14 points and 502 calories. It was bingy as hell but within program (11 weekly remaining) and all counted so I'm going to distinguish it from my normal binges. I've got 4 days before WI and hope to spend them on the beam.

21 points 1899 calories 20+ APs
I picked up some cherry juice at Costco yesterday. It’s the tart variety, sweetened with a little apple juice. The packaging lists all the benefits Nancy described. We had an earthquake here yesterday, though I didn’t feel it. It happened during the second half of my Senior Fit class and we were up and moving around with the music playing.
Nancy, thanks for the cherry juice info. Fingers crossed on it. Re: foam rolling, there’s a very thin layer of connective tissue on the outside of our muscles. Foam rolling helps loosen that tissue, which can help alleviate joint pain. I find it also helps with muscle soreness. It works much like massage, in fact myofascial release can be done by a massage therapist. Bummer on the food last night, but impressive that you tracked it and stopped before it got worse. New day for you!
Lori, vacation sounds wonderful! I have no doubt that you’ll do better than last time. You’ve really progressed with your eating, especially while traveling.
Cindy, how are the temps in Oklahoma? Did you get Jaxxon’s birthday gift sent out?

Worked late last night and just finished a few "Must" get done projects. I am now Officially Excited about Vacation!!
Nancy, no worries - top priority is to Enjoy!! without going crazy, of course...lol!! Looking at your bingy items, I think it was very smart to have the protein with the carbs - I find it really helps with not going over the edge. 4 days - you got this!!
Jan, I heard about the Ohio Earthquake...crazy!! The weather has been so bizarre, you don't know what to expect anymore - glad you didn't even feel it...
Cindy, a full on program week - how do you feel?? Remember that feeling, it will help down the road!!
Kathy, hope your traveling is going smoothly and your plan is working out well for you!
Since my ankle incident, I have been incorporating more strength training and pilates and averaging about 7 to 8,000 steps a day. I'm really happy with that balance so I think I'll continue that after vacation. I actually recorded the pilates dvd onto my ipad so I can do it on vacation. I also plan to continue checking in here. This is my second Home!!
Have a great day ladies!

Hi Girlfriends! C1D1 So embarressed! So didn't want to come on here! Stayed up late last night and full binge. No excuses! What's so weird, was well aware of everything I was eating was not good, but no care attitude! Nancy, you are so strong to list the things you ate. I am not that brave, but will say it involved a lot of DH's food! Nancy, you are so cute and smart, did have to google the word. Will keep it in my pea brain to help ward off future binges. Jan, can't believe all this strange weather! We have had so much rain and cloudy days, am so ready for sunshine. I even noticed when in town Monday, there was a snake that had been run over on city street. Yes, got all my gifts off at UPS store Monday morning. Lori, love all your steps! DH had attached a fan on my treadmill shelf, but am going to take it off, so I can read while on the treadmill cause am getting tired of the songs on my MP3 player. Thank goodness today is a new day! Thank ya'll for holding me accountable. My plan if up late, will come on here and read instead of eating. Love ya, Cindy

Jan - I was told not use the tart or the concentrate. The one I've been using is Knudsen "Just Black Cherry". When time allows, I'm going to check out foam roller exercises on utube. Thanks for the info.
Lori - So glad you'll be checking in here - and smart to put the pilates dvd on your ipad. Can't wait to hear how you manage on vacation without sacrificing enjoyment. If anyone can accomplish that, it's you.
Cindy - So proud of you for checking in despite the binge. It's the only way. Found this in my diet notes "Old habits die hard. If your history of overeating predicts your future and you want a new future, then you begin by creating a new history."
