Karen, thanks for the start.
We stayed an extra day because my sciatica was not happy with the drive to Kokomo even though the seats in the Terrain are comfortable. We didn’t really do anything unique. We just reminisced and noted what had changed in town and what was the same. Saturday was a nice day but it was raining Sunday. It rained here as well yesterday. Today is sunny but a lot cooler. I was going to go sit on the patio for breakfast but I was freezing. It was only 48°.
Karen, that’s good news on Dale’s insurance. How is your little Velcro dog today? How is Dale’s trip going? Iggy and I use Pomi Tomato sauce when we are short in time. The ingredients are tomatoes. No salt, no oil. Then you can flavor it the way you want. We used to get it at Meijer but now we have to order it online at Amazon. Good to know Liz was nowhere near the helicopter crash.
Linda, I haven’t seen that Prego. The painting of the boxers will be great, I am sure. How are you and Bob feeling?
Kathy, that is terrible about that biker getting hit by lightening. The poor turtles are going to have to work harder now that the pond is higher. It is a real relief not to have to drive to work in bad weather. I am going to have to worry about Iggy this winter.
Becky, I saw video of that crane. Scary stuff! 6 teens in northern Ohio got swept away by a flash flood in a creek and one was swept into the sewer. They were all rescued, though.
Liz, I hope the leg is continuing to heal. Any decision on Zoe’s tail yet? I know you all want what is best for her and sometimes it is hard to know what that is. It is hard to work for someone when you have no confidence in their ability. I hope that situation improves.
I am going to go do my back stretches now as the sciatica is sticking around for some reason. I will just keep moving.

Karen, it seems like a lot of places are getting slammed with rain and flooding this year. I did hear that the motorcyclist was from Charlotte. That's great that they'll let Dale back on your insurance and you won't have to worry about that.
Chele, sometimes it's just nice to get out of town for a day or two. Sorry the sciatica was the reason though and hope it's not bothering you too much today.
Liz, glad the helicopter accident wasn't near you. Very scary to see any kind of aircraft crash on a building even if it appears to be an accident. Hope all goes well with your procedure.
Linda, that's really frustrating on the AC noise. Hope it's something that's an easy fix.
Becky, that's sad about the missing woman on Lake Pflugerville. We've certainly had some crazy weather this year.

Linda, I hope the AC techs can fix that right away. How annoying!
Kathy, I saw on Weather Channel that rain was headed your way. i guess it made it there. It was nice to get out of Dodge for a couple of days. Iggy sure needed it and I enjoyed it. The sciatica isn’t too bad as long as I don’t sit too long. I rode bike and did my stretches and that always helps.
Karen, did you go to AF today or stay home with Arya? Dale returns tomorrow, right?

Chele, you have really been having a time with your sciatica. Sorry it necessitated an overnight stay in Kokomo and I hope your stretches are helping. Good suggestion on Pomi. I never think about that for some reason, but it's on the grocery list for this week and they have them at Publix. Dale's trip seems to be going ok. He got a great rate at a casino in Lawrenceburg because they aren't that busy early in the week. He said the walls are paper thin, probably because most people are in the casino and not sleeping much anyway. He also had he had night birds outside his window all night and it was bad enough that he needed earplugs between them and the drunks. I don't think he'll be staying there again after this trip. One more night there and he'll be home. I hadn't heard about the teens in northern OH. Where exactly was it? From living in Toledo and working at Cedar Point for a summer, I'm pretty familiar with a lot of that part of the world. I can relate to worrying about Iggy driving in the winter. I had several winters when Dale had 2 hour one-way commutes on some interstates that weren't as well maintained as they needed to be. Velcro dog has been pretty much plastered to me all day except when I was cleaning and then she just watched me and whined a lot.
Holy Cow on the AC noise, Linda!! After all the money you paid, that definitely needs to be resolved quickly! How soon will they be out to take care of the problem? I hope they don't have to shut down your system, even temporarily, given the heat you will be experiencing. How many people are usually in your class? It's nice that you experienced artists help the newbies.
Kathy, did you get any inclement weather from the system that came across the Panhandle? Did your street get resealed with a minimum of inconvenience? What are you working on this week? When do you have to make a decision about healthcare coverage? Dale sounded really excited when I told him I could get him back on State Health Plan. Amazing when you get so old you get excited about insurance.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't know about the lake in Pfleugerville, Becky. After looking at P'ville's parks and rec site, it appears it's a recreational lake. What other iconic locations have closed in Austin? I haven't paid a great deal of attention and just noticed something about Hut's by accident. I saw about the crane crashing through the apartment building in Dallas. Amazing that only one person got killed. I think I saw something on the Weather Channel about the confirmed tornado in Liberty Hill. So you're going from one Humana plan to another Humana plan? You would think they could handle that internally. Sometimes I don't even notice when my Fitbit alerts me to get in the rest of my 250 steps for the hour. I've thought about turning off that feature because I don't think it makes much difference to me.
Liz, was today the day for the vein injection? Enjoy youre "rest day" tomorrow. Hope it will be an awesome day to sit on the deck with the pups, leg propped up.
I've had a busy day. Arya was up at the usual time. After I fed her, I cooked her eggs for the week, did my daily yoga and knee exercises, dusted and vacuumed, brushed Arya (she's shedding like crazy right now), and cleaned the screen porch. The girl and I have also been on at least 3 walkies so far. The screened porch looks a lot better. I even flipped the chair cushions and traded the TV trays we have been using for the other 2 in the set, so it looks new out there. I will probably need to buy new cushions next year when they go on sale at Big Lots. No AF today. When I'm home alone, I tend not to go anywhere unless absolutely necessary because I'm afraid of getting in a wreck or something and won't be able to get home to her and her separation anxiety is so severe. I also made an appointment with a new PCP and was able to get in next Tuesday. In the meantime, I am going to be pulling some things together, such as blood tests I want run to check on my nutrition and to figure out what is leaching the calcium out of my bones. I plan to state up front that I see medications as a last resort (the goal of pharmaceutical companies is to attract customers, not provide cures) , so I hope the new person will listen better than her predecessor did. If not, I guess I'll move on again next year. It's a good thing I don't have any chronic medical conditions that need managed. We have an absolutely beautiful day with bright sunshine, temps in the mid 70s, and low humidity. Finally a spring day! Won't last long. Going for walkie #4!

Karen, the teens were in Massillon, Ohio just west of Canton. This is in my BIL’s area. I hope Dale can get some sleep tonight. I have never had night birds keep me awake in a hotel room but I have had drunks making a lot of noise and some of those were my co-workers. I used to worry about Teddy in his elder years hurting himself if he was alone. When he was younger he was fine alone for a few hours. He really was a good boy. You sure kept yourself busy at home today and 4 walkies! Arya had a good human.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele I'm sorry your sciatica flared up with your trip to Kokomo.Wow that's cold for June. Our low was a lovely 66.It's only 78 now but it's been cloudy all day.I am glad all teens were rescued. As of the noon news the woman on the kayak had not been recovered.
Linda What a PITA on the new AC with the door closed. You are definitely already in summer weather.
Chele I find the same with my knees since the injections. If I don't get up every hour they hurt more. It's a good thing my Garmin reminds me to move.
Karen One of the Threadgill's closed,Steak and Ale has been gone for awhile.I don't know how long but I remember it because we used to go there every Christmas Eve when we both still worked in Austin. The Nighthawk closed a couple of yrs ago. It's all because they can't afford the property taxes anymore.I wouldn't notice on the Garmin either because at first there is just a red bar above the time but if I haven't gotten any steps before the end of the hr it beeps and then it beeps again when I have had enough steps I guess. There was also a tornado that was classified an EF2 out of Copperas Cove.I don't think they can handle the Humana switch internally b/c the one I have now is through Medicare and the one I'm going to is through ERS.At least the new one has Silver Sneakers so I can go back to AF.Several of my former Curves buddies go to group classes there Tuesday and Thursday mornings so it will be nice to see them again.I'm also going to pay for the vision rider because it's a good plan for $6+/month.$15 co-pay,up to $150 frames for free.Progressive lenses are a $70 copay and there are a few other things if I need glasses I would like to use.At least it won't cost over $600 like my current ones. Also I won't have to go any farther than Walmart vision in Elgin.Scooter and the cats are shedding like crazy. They are all short hairs so it sheds more.I have swept enough cat fur to make another cat at times.LOL.
Liz Take it easy tomorrow.
Kathy I hope your rain goes away soon. After I was on the road for a walk after lunch it was spitting rain and by time I turned around at my regular spot it was a fine mist.It felt good though because the air has been so still today with no wind.

Chele, I know where Massillon is. Dale lived in Akron. I didn't realize your BIL was from around there. I talked to Dale a little while ago and, with the help of ear plugs, he slept better last night. I remember your concern about leaving old man Teddy by himself and some of the great lengths you went to so he wouldn't injure himself. With Arya, it's more terror. We were walking back to the house this afternoon and she heard the neighbor's pick up truck turn onto the shared section of the driveway and it terrified her and she couldn't get back to the house fast enough and kept looking back to be sure nobody was following her. She also reacted negatively to my flipping the chair cushions on the screened porch and was afraid to go out there by herself because something was different and she doesn't respond well to different. If she was home alone and the fire alarm went off or there was a loud noise or someone came to the door, she would freak. We are trying to leave her alone for bits of time to see if we can make her braver but we aren't there yet. We ended up taking 5 walkies and then I had to walk out to the mailbox (she won't go beyond the gate and freaks when we try to open it with her near us). I got more than my 10K steps today. We went out on the deck this afternoon and I noticed that I need to do some cleaning out there as well. Maybe tomorrow, weather permitting.
Becky, I'm glad there is still a Threadgill's. Sorry Nighthawk closed. I liked that place. Not surprised about the rise in taxes and property values. The house we almost bought there is about triple the value it was when we lived in it. I hadn't heard about the EF2 at Copperas Cove. I have to wonder if that was the same system responsible for the winds at the airport. I'm so happy you will be getting Silver Sneakers so you can go to the class with your Curves buddies. That's quite a deal on your vision coverage. I don't have that and I went to a local place for glasses that is about half the price of the chains and it was still pretty costly, even with some of my own frames. Arya's hair is also pretty short. I brushed her twice today already and, if she wasn't snoring, I would probably take her out and do it again. LOL on creating another cat with their fur.
