WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

20 points 1850 calories 28 APs My plantar fasciitis has started to flare up in my left foot, as well as the Achilles tendinitis in my right foot. Wednesday is my long day on my feet with four classes, so I’m going to take the day off of running and ride my bike instead. You can file that under “things you’ve never heard Jan say” 😂 I’ve been soaking my feet in Epsom salts and icing, and I have kinesiology tape on them. Hoping this doesn’t last long. Lori, have a fabulous, relaxing trip! Cindy, you don’t ever need to be embarrassed here. Posting here yesterday was crucial, and getting back on track right away will minimize any weight gain, as well as help create new habits. Posting in this group has been life changing for me. It is what helped me to finally turn my eating around. Nancy, do you know why you were advised not to drink the tart cherry juice? I googled the difference between the two and found this: There are many different varieties of cherry juice. ... Tart cherry juice is sour to taste and provides a higher amount of anthocyanins compared to black cherry juice, which is sweeter in taste and has less anthocyanins. Anthocyanins promote anti-inflammatory processes in the body. Both are great, nutritious options. For anyone interested, I also found this great article: www.livestrong.com/article/24160-health-benefits-tart-cherry-juice/In any event, I have three bottles of tart cherry juice from Costco. I’ll see how it goes. In combination with the marine collagen I’m taking, I’m hoping to end these foot issues.

I have just caught up to you all after a marathon of reading that has gone on for a long time. I went back to Workshop (which is what they're calling it right now I think) the last two Saturdays. I got a deal for 10 weeks at $80 for them. Figured spending the money up front would keep me getting there. Did have a loss the second week.
Thing I am not doing is tracking even after the coach (I think that's what we're calling them now) stressed it when she reviewed the program with me. I did it one day online and that was it. I'm thinking I should start using the paper trackers and at least list what I'm having even if I don't run the points.
I managed to forget the appointment where I was supposed to pick up my orthotics (no spell check working for this). I had other things to do that day but really not a good thing. Any way I now get them on the 14th. So the only exercise I have been having since early March is the thrice daily walk with Marisol. I usually do around ten minutes each. I would like to raise that to twenty but DM complains. She stands at the front door most of the time we are out there. I'm also continuously walking the half distance around the oval we live in. Marisol also tries to pull me up the driveway before we reach the ten minute goal. I've let her do it sometimes and have to work on stopping it. DM told me I had a mean streak the day I pulled Marisol several times (once each half oval).
So let's see if I can remember my breakfast. Slice of brown sugar and cinnamon swirl bread, with 1/2 serving Smart Balance Buttery Spread. Half serving of raspberry non fat yogurt, with half of a large banana. Lunch was slightly less than 1 oz. turkey breast, 1 Tumaro's multigrain tortilla (this was a substitution when I asked for Joseph's. These taste much the same and are half the points (1 vs 2). 1/2 serving of mayonnaise, baby carrots. Then for dessert I had the other half of the banana and 1/2 a serving of nonfat, vanilla Greek yogurt. So I think I will go over to the WW site to track it all.
So my breakfast was 8 points, and therein lies a challenge. That is too many points with a 23 point daily allowance. I need to start using the plain Greek yogurt with flavoring. I will check out vanilla but will probably end up with vanilla flavor. I already use cinnamon as one option. I also add a small bit of Stevia, usually 1/4 tsp. Then there is that the slices of the bread are thick and that gives me four points.
The lunch however is only 4 points.
Dinner was Stuffed Chicken Cordon Bleu, Broccoli with Smart Balance Buttery Spread, and I splurged and had 2 of the snack size Hershey bars which was 7 points 5 of which came from my weeklies.
It's all tracked online. Yeah!
Was a beautiful day today weather-wise. Temps ranged from the high 40s this am to low 70s this afternoon. Turned my heater on after getting up and then off again when the temperature in the house was the same as outside. Then early afternoon had to open up a window as the temp inside got higher than outside. Then when the outside temperature started getting higher closed the window again. As of now (9:45 pm) it's 75 in here and 56 outside. Forecast shows a low of 49 at 5 am.
I am going to try to post every day now. That should also allow me to get some personals in.

Jan - I spoke with the woman who introduced me to the cherry juice. She couldn't give me a definitive answer about the tart. Like me, she was told to use "Just Black Cherry" and not "Tart". Like me her results have been astronomical so she will just continue what she's been doing. I really hope the tart works for you. As I think I mentioned before, a single cortisone shot took care of my achilles tendinitis immediately and forever.
Cindy - How wonderful that you got right back on the beam after your mishap. That's the way to do it.
Lori - Hope you're having an awesome time!!
Louise - Nice to see your post. It's been a while. I track on paper and then online I simply enter "breakfast" x points, "lunch x points", "dinner" x points, "snacks" x points. Serves the purpose and saves time.
