Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had a terrific Tuesday and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.
The house we looked at yesterday looked much better in the pictures on the listing than it looked in person. Had a weird layout and while the family room and master bedroom were big and open the other rooms in the house were pretty small. We are passing and waiting for a better option to come along. It is so unfortunate that the one we really liked did not have high speed internet. So the search continues.
DH is going out of town for a day trip today and he will not be home until late tonight. This means dinner will be super simple for me and possibly just a decaf coffee as most evenings I am not all that hungry.
RobinMD I am eating low carb now and pretty close to keto but not keto. I have issues with reactive blood sugar drops and my body really likes keto. I eat as close to that as I can but I do include a few things that are not 100% keto.
Lora I hope they finish the roof up quickly - I know it will feel so good to have it done. How is the weather in AL? How are you doing with no weighing?
Susie I am sorry for the continued headaches and auras.
Andi sorry for the layover at the airport but glad you got home safely. I know you miss DD and DGKs.
Robin I hope you enjoy your vacation and that you packed the correct things.
We are going on a trip to the NC beach with DFs this weekend. Last night they were all texting about "food requests" etc. I did not request anything different. I am going to pack a few things for myself that will make my weekend easier (my heavy cream for coffee, pepperoni, cheese cubes, etc) Between what I bring, and I will bring enough for anyone who would like some - and what they have available I think it should be fine. Do you think it will be weird that I just bring those things myself? I always hate to have someone else accommodate me especially when I already have the items here and all I have to do is throw them in a mini cooler.
Ok time to take DH to the car rental place. I will check back in later.

Good morning everyone.
I got a late start this morning, so thanks for starting us, Jana. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I went to bed at 730 last night, and then didn't get up until 545 this morning. I feel pretty refreshed though, so I guess I needed it.
Jana - sorry the house last night didn't work out. On the other one, have y'all checked with the cable provider for that area? When we first bought here the only option was Hughes Net - which is that ridiculously expensive satellite internet that's not even that reliable. Mark called around and found the company who had the rights to this area and contacted them. The said that nobody out here had ever requested internet so no fiber had ever been run, but they were out here the next week laying fiber for the entire road - there was no additional charges to us over the regular monthly internet charge. That also brought cable to our road, which we don't subscribe to, which wasn't here before. DISH network was all that the people around me had previously. And actually our connections speeds seem to fly here. Way better than the "cutting edge" stuff we had in the big city. Lol I don't think it's at all strange for you to take "your stuff" on your weekend trip. I would do the same, like you said, with plenty enough to share. Your friends know that you have a specific food profile that you eat for your health, I'm sure they don't think it strange either. Or at least they shouldn't.
Andi - sounds like a long day for you yesterday. Glad you got the marketing done. That should make the rest of the week easier. Lol at your goat memory. All of my extended family on my father's side are livestock farmers - they raise cattle for beef. I've helped pull calves, so grabbing a goat by the horns is no big deal. Those animals represent $$. They're are income. There are quite a few in this area that raise goats for milk and also make homemade lotions, soaps, etc. that they sell in shops and at farmers markets and such. It's not just a hobby for them. So the Riley's are always to help a goofy goat in distress and in turn help a neighbor. haha
Oh have mercy! They're on the roof. Right now they're on the overhang over the back patio. There is no dead air attic space to lessen the noise. I'm hard blinking with every swing of the hammer. If I drank, this might be a vodka day! Lol

Peeking around the corner...
does anyone remember me?
Back from Disney as of 8 pm last night - back at work this morning with a slew of work to get through. Had a lot of fun. We had a bit more issues with rain/storms than I'd hoped. But overall the heat/humidity could have been WAY worse. also I brought a hydration pack/bladder that went into my backpack so I was always able to just be sipping water as we walked around. That was huge.
Weighed myself this morning - probably not a good idea after vacation and having jerky and little water yesterday. Ordered some produce through clicklist. Gonna work on eating through my freezer. Lots of frozen fish and chicken in there! Missed you all. looking forward to catching up.

Oh Lora hopefully they will get that overhang done QUICKLY. I think I might take a walk while they worked on that part. Ugh. We have looked at the internet providers in the area. The whole county is supposed to have high speed internet by the end of 2020. With Robin working from home waiting that long just isn't an option. It is something we were aware of with some of the remote county locations we were looking at so we are trying to check now before looking at anything. Another option that came up last night was finding a builder that had land to build on already. My realtor knows several builders and she is going to talk to them for us over the next couple of days. We want wooded and we want privacy. We prefer at least 5 acres or more.
I feel better about just taking my food items with me. I have know these DFs since before my surgery so they are aware that I have certain food restrictions. We aren't leaving until Friday afternoon. I am off on Friday so the plan was for me to go to the grocery store for our bi monthly trip on Friday while DH is working. I HOPE the weather stays nice for the weekend.
I guess I should get to work especially since I got here late this morning.

Jana - understood. I was baffled that there was not internet/cable on this road. I guess living so long in the big city had me spoiled. I mean it wasn't like we were in the wilds of Alaska...Lol. It was hard to believe that an area so close to "civilization" didn't already have fiber in place. Haha!
Amanda - hope your first day back to work is not too terrible.

Haha Lora, funny about the wilds of Alaska, I am wondering if they have our cell service, or if there will be wifi we can hook up to anywhere when we are off the ship, or course we won't exactly be in the wild.
Amanda, I am sure you enjoyed your trip, you and Disney after all are great friends.
Jana, enjoy your weekend. Seeing as your friends know you from before, explaining your food choices shouldn't be a big deal. I am sure you can really use this break. I don't think about places not having high speed internet either, and when they have the commercials that mention it I always wonder where.
Andi, glad you made it home OK, always some flight thing going on. Glad your DD was OK with bringing you to the airport, I would have been panicking. People always think of flight delays in the winter, but I think we have had more experience with it in the summer. Rain predicted for tomorrow, so I am worried that we won't make our connection in Seattle.

Hi ROs...today is YDD's birthday, so we called to sing Happy Birthday to her this morning...ran out to my gym class, got back and off to a Dr Appt to check on these migraines again...told him I wanted to try anything (he gave me an RX - who knows if it will help, but at least I am trying something)...have had sooooooo much going on lately (more even than usual and am soooo stressed) that I got a call from my masseuse while I was sitting in the waiting room... I meant to cancel the appt, but did not...darn, darn. Got home and was trying to post a Happy Birthday message to DD and in the rush was late to mah jongg. After playing (which did take my mind off everything) got home and went to pick up RX...gee these seem so expensive (I like my old insurance), then to Aldi, then to pick up Chinese (DH's suggestion - what a good one so I don't have to worry about dinner). I am off to pick up DGS, then to Charades in the neighborhood. OK...all of this fun, fun, is starting to take a toll....something has got to give!
Jana - the beach sounds like so much fun and I do not think it is inappropriate for you to take some of your own food. Sorry about the house. Sure hope you have better weather this weekend than last weekend!
Lora - yippee for such a good night of sleep
Amanda - glad you had such a good time..too bad one always seems to have to PAY for taking days off with stress, and work, work, work you missed
RobinS - Alaska is on my bucket list also ( I hope soon) - have fun - hope you have no problem making the connection in Seattle!
OK...off and running

Hi Everyone, I dont have too much time to post but wanted to stop by. We had our class trip today to this park that had playground equipment. The weather was beautiful not hot. I got the number for the settlement for my car. Its not that much so I am sure that I probably will have car payments to make up the difference. Its about 36,000 plus some change. That is after a 500.00 deductible taken out already. Once I send in the title and any other document if needed they will finalize and send the payment electronically to my bank. ok, need to get moving. have a good night.

Good evening all. Janet, did you add an extra 0 on that settlement? Hard to imagine they're giving you $36,000 for your car - you definitely wouldn't need car payments for a new one! Sorry you have to deal with this though.
Jana, going to the beach for the weekend sounds wonderful to me. I'd definitely bring food and not worry about it. If I don't think I'll be able to get the food I need it's a definite binge trigger. How did DM do with the bone density test?
Susie, hope the new prescription works. I can't imagine daily migraines!
Lora, dinner sounds so delicious! Let us know how it turns out.
I'm super tired, had to take sleep meds last night, got up at 5, which is better than the 3 AM stuff I was doing in CO. Work was really busy today - we have a huge audit next week of about half of our state-funded programs and everyone is scrambling to make sure things are in order. The time pressure made me finish those stupid evaluations at least. And it's a short work week for me since on Friday I have a meeting with staff and managers in one of our upstate offices and before and after I can work at home. I forgot to take sneakers with me today so I couldn't walk but I probably wouldn't have had time anyway.
Have a good evening all.

Hi everyone,
Getting here a little late today. Just got busy after I got home, and am finally sitting down. I won't be long out of bed... we all seem to have some sleep issues. Last night I went to bed early (for me) and slept great, but still hated to get up! Andi, I'm glad you made it home and had a good flight. I hope you catch up on some sleep tonight. Lora, I sure hope the meat turns out good! Hopefully the backup plan won't be needed.. Ha! Jana, I could do fine on keto, but I really don't know if I would be satisfied without being able to eat fruits. I could eat all veggies, the fats, the meats, etc, but I would really want some fruit here and there. Is that allowed at all? In what ways do you not follow the plan? Sorry about the house....5 acres is a nice size and privacy would be so nice. Susie, I sure hope the new med works. You have been through a lot. And you sound SO busy today! Too bad you missed the massage, because I bet it would have felt great. Amanda, glad you had a good time at Disney. Janet, I hope you find something good, quickly. You are good at getting yourself around, but it is a bad feeling to not have a car if you need it.
Well I just wanted to keep up and say hello. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. I'll be back at some point tomorrow, I just can't get on until I get home from work. Waving hi to all,
RobinMD
