WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

The bike ride went well yesterday and I’m going to do it again today. I was able to really push myself because it was my first activity of the day, and my speed was over a mile per hour faster than usual. Traffic wasn’t bad at all, which was my fear of riding at 7 AM on a weekday.
Nancy, my foot pain is very mild, but for the first time ever I’m attempting to baby it so it doesn’t get worse. The last time I asked for a shot, my former podiatrist wouldn’t give it to me. I was so disappointed. It was right before our last trip to Hawaii and I was limping terribly. Needless to say I eventually found a different podiatrist.
Cindy, I really think going to bed early will work to your advantage. You’ll be up earlier, but that’s ok. I know my willpower is much stronger in the morning, and I’m sure yours is too.
Louise, it’s so good to see you! Another switch you could make for breakfast is your bread. You could use a slice of thin sprouted bread with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar instead of the swirl bread. Dave’s Killer Bread is a good one, make sure you look for the thin slices. I store it in the freezer. Have you tried Oikos Triple Zero yogurt? It’s greek yogurt that has added flavoring. I think orange cream is my favorite flavor. Don’t get the coconut, it’s yuck :-) Three points per container. And I also LOVE Tumaro’s wraps! Make sure you double check points if you buy a different variety; the one with chia seeds and I think the honey wheat ones are both two points instead of one.

Hi Girlfriends: C1D3 Nancy, am just amazed at how the cherry juice works! So glad the cortizone shot works! Louise, it was so good to see you on here. As Jan says I freeze my bread too. For my canned chicken, I toast my bread and it takes longer to eat, toasted. (g) Sounds like your walking pal keeps your heart rate up eh. Jan, yes the going to bed early makes all the difference! Woohoo on the biking!I got a big fan yesterday at the store and put it on my dresser by my treadmill. It is adjustable, so have it where it blows right on me. Took the small fan off my treadmill where the holder is just right for my book, so will be reading and walking too. Am so excited. Well, off to visit my sister, haven't been over there in 2 weeks. Got a nice surprise yesterday, DS got a text from DGS on one of his target shooting exercises. Miss you Lori, but know you are having a wonderful time!!! Love ya'll, Cindy

Had a post almost finished and somehow lost it. I think I actually closed the board somehow.
Day went well until the late evening. Everything for my three meals and snacks was tracked though. The cashew butter got used with an English muffin for the first time. It was really good and accompanied by carrots. I did use a whole serving of the cashew butter. I don't think a half serving would have been enough to cover the whole muffin effectively.
Jan-I can't remember if I've tried the Oikos Zeros yet. Will start looking to see if the store I go to carries the Dave's bread.
Rainy day and both Marisol and I got very wet. I keep telling DM that the dog probably doesn't feel wet at all, her coat is so thick.

Jan - I was treated by an orthopedist specializing in foot and ankle. He's the one that gave me the cortisone shot not the podiatrist who misdiagnosed the condition which turned out to be Achilles tendinitis not plantar fasciatis. The physical therapist actually noticed the difference. That's great about your bike speed - also your stats, both points and calories. It's hard to imagine you're not curious enough to weigh yourself. I bet you'd be in for a very pleasant surprise.
Cindy - I don't freeze my bread but I do refrigerate it. I do freeze DH's english muffins, mini bagels and mini portuguese rolls. So happy to see D3.
Louise - I never heard of cashew butter. Is it very different from peanut butter?
Lori - Anxious to hear from you. Everything OK??
