fullmahina, that's terrible that the reaction comes back like that. Is there anything that can help calm the swelling? Since it is not your standard histamine-type reaction antihistamines have little effect. Still, the recommendation is to take Zyrtec and Pepcid (H2 blocker). The swelling can show up in your throat and cut off your airway and then you get intubated and spend a little time in ICU until the swelling goes down. They also can add steroids but again, that doesn't help much either. There is one hugely expensive treatment that actually works but it's basically reserved for those who have had recurrent life-threatening swelling of the throat with airway blockage. I've had some throat involvement at times but not enough to make me go to the ER. FYI, the reaction is called angioedema and you can hear it referred to in a lot of medication ads on TV---"can cause a potentially fatal swelling of face, lips, and throat." I know, TMI... Oh my, that is scary! I hope it doesn't move beyond your lip, and that you lip swelling calms soon. Take care, fullmahina!

Zazzles, Fullmahina - feel better. Colonoscopy went well and I am just resting up. Will do a little housework I think in a bit.

Zazzles, Fullmahina - feel better. Colonoscopy went well and I am just resting up. Will do a little housework I think in a bit. I didn’t realize you were having a colonoscopy today. Glad it went well. This explains why you had no breakfast and lunch. Glad that it’s over for you.

sheesh I cant even turn around and leave you guys alone and there ya go getting sick on us. Feel better soon, that sounds scary Full, please keep us updated. Oh my, that is scary! I hope it doesn't move beyond your lip, and that you lip swelling calms soon. Honestly, I take it in stride now after a year of episodes. As long as it doesn't stop me from breathing I figure it's just something I have to live with. I don't even consider it to be an illness, just a condition that flares up sometimes. Many people have to deal with things that are much worse! Finished the basement garden cleanup. Left the radishes as they are not quite ready yet but everything else is gone---lettuce is all packaged up and the dill is all trimmed and on a big baking sheet in the freezer and after it freezes it will go into a ziploc. As I hacked down the dill I noticed fresh shoots coming from the stems so I am going to move it to a bigger pot and try to keep it going outside. Same with the green onions---I cut them down two days ago and they are about an inch tall again and I don't have the heart to ditch the little troopers! I am ignoring my lip. susiq25679 , glad your procedure went well. Skip the housework and watch a movie.

Green onions certainly grow fast! When I put green onion roots in water, I can keep using the new growth practically every other day. Same if the roots aren't in water but just in a bag in the crisper drawer in the fridge. Always new growth. I love how it's a vegetable I can buy once and it self-replenishes so I get to keep using it several times over.

fullmahina and zazzles I hope you both feel better. My watch says it’s 109 outside and I really hope that that number is wrong. I had a 2 o’clock lecture and will have one at four but I can’t do 3 o’clock exercise because it is Pilates on a mat and I cannot do floor exercises very well with my two knee replacements. So I am sitting here alone in the lecture room with my shoes and socks off a big glass of ice water and a healthy snack before the 4 o’clock lecture begins. I met with the nutritionist at one and receive lots of information regarding the type of tired I should be on according to the things that she did which included measurements my taste for things I am a saliva test and then I also will be getting results from DNA testing to show what jeans I have and don’t have related to arm food and so all that will be mesh together are probably in a Skype conference I will have with her next week. I am opting out of future activities this evening to watch the last game of the NBA playoffs. Go Warriors basketball 🏀
